they scare the crap outta me.
The lead singer is posessed by a demon or something.
The only good thing about em is the chick doing the backing haunting type vocals.

I love Cradle of Filth. Midian was probably my favorite album from them. I haven't had a chance yet to check out their latest album, but I've listened to pretty much everything else. They're definitely the type of band people are either going to really like, or reaallly hate ;)

Dani Filth is 4 feet tall.

I like the keyboards on some of their albums. But their keyboardist is no Janne Warman.

That's about it.

Heh, well who is really? ;) Well besides Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. That guy is unreal. But I think the keyboards for COF are suitable enough for their thing.

Well, good point. Jordan Rudess and Janne Warman are in a class by themselves. I do however enjoy COF's keyboards and drumming as well. One of my ex girlfriends left her COF videos over here and we used to watch them all the time. The drummer has some nice double bass work. I just noticed I type in non-sequiturs. lol

Cradle of Filth is a great band. The best album they put out thus far has got to be "Midian".. if you get a chance, pick it up at your local cd shop and give it a listen.

They also have an amazine live show. If they are playing live in your area check them out. you will not be disappointed.

Hahah! I love that SeXaY Dani. He's a deeply disturbed fellow, but still hot! I've heard, though, that he's one of the dirtiest men on the planet (hygeine-wise). Kinda funny, his last name being Filth.

I do like some of their music - I was all about Dusk and Her Embrace and Cruely and the Beast back in high school. I haven't heard a lot of their stuff in the last few years. I did go to see them at Ozzfest this summer...and ended up in the middle of the moshpit. Some psycho girl kept running into me, so I elbowed her in the gut. A lady's gotta do what a lady' gotta do, y'now? Nonetheless, they had a pretty cool stageshow - some evil demoness-kinda chick was on stilts, rode a human horse (hmm) and then she swung horizontally around a rope in the middle of the air. Definitely made my day.

Oh, and Cradle of Fear was nuts. I love the cheesy special effects. ;)

 My kinda gal. Gotta love a lady who can hold her own in the mosh pit...heh :D

Some people are such n00bs in mosh pits. I had some guy come running up to me in the pit at a Napalm Death concert and punch me in the face for no reason. That was a bad idea on his part. I kinda body slammed him ;)

Oh yeah, that just blew me away! By the way, her name is Satyr (stage-name, at least). When she started swinging on that rope, the floor activity died down as everyone just stared at her, jaws on the ground. Oh yeah, and it was also very cool when she came out near the end of the set with a circular-saw or something and started generating sparks against her body (wearing a metal corset or something, i'd assume).

My favorite cds are probably Midian and Dusk & Her Embrace. And V Empire - that one rocks hardcore!

Edit:
Just saw this on the official site:

Cradle Of Filth will be embarking on a headlining US tour in November. Full details and dates to be announced soon.

Yeah! I'm so there!

Gotta love a lady who can hold her own in the mosh pit...
Hehee, it's funny, because I used to go crazy all the time when I was younger...now my fiancé is uber protective of me - and he doesn't like it when I go to concerts alone, so I always miss out on the action. I managed to get separated from him that day (a thing that I sometimes count as good) so me and one of my chick friends got in there and got wild.

Oh yeah, and it was also very cool when she came out near the end of the set with a circular-saw or something and started generating sparks against her body (wearing a metal corset or something, i'd assume).
OMG I can't believe it - I'd totally forgot about that. Yeah, I was watching that like "damn..." and you could see the slash marks into the metal behind the sparks. That was awesome. I think I liked the rope-swinging a little more, though. Yeah, everyone in the crowd was watching that with their jaws on the floor. T'was great.

The only tune of theirs [that I've heard] I can stand listening to is that spiffy Archangel chant, whatever it's called. The shrill screaming vocals make me want to tear my ears off. :?

Love them! For some reason the vocals always appealed to me (to the point of screeching along with the cds; hard on the throat, though).

I'll be at the Chicago Show on the 22nd; i love Type O, but i'm not familiar with Moonspell.

wish i could go see them, dani rules, is it true their gigs are 18+? One of my mates cousins went to see Cradle a few years ago, time of midian i believe and he came back with a split lip, bruised nose and dislicated jaw, violent but still, worth the adrenelin rush.

Musically, they have some talent, and the lyrics are extremely

C o F is funny!
And their videos are really hilarious!
Nothing disturbing about it! If you want disturbed shit (or just strange) try The Mentors or GWAR's videos...
Also I enjoy more Emperor or Acheron... anyhow all these bands's lyrics are totally ridiculous.

I am not totally sure what video you saw, the ones I've seen on TV aren't bad at all, you've gotta find Scorched Earth Erotica, From The Cradle to Enslave are really graphic... They Don't Disturb me, but they would really mess with someone else haha.

Wow...old thread.

A few people like them at my school, but I've never listened to 'em. I have a feeling that the lyrics would be sad, however. Just by the girl that I talk to a lot who has a sweatshirt of theirs, and they look kind of sad and depressed.

But hey, nothing wrong with that. :D

Their lyrics are amazing. I'll post the lyrics to their newest song just because I'm such a music evangelist lol.

Nymphetamine (Overdose)

Evanescent like the scent of decay
I was fading from the race
When in despair, my darkest days
Ran amok and forged her face
From the fairest of handmaidens to
A slick perverted wraith

Nymphetamine

Heaving midst narcissus
On a maledict blanket of stars
She was all three wishes
Sex, sex, sex

A lover hung on her death row
I was hooked on her disease
Highly strung like Cupid's bow
Whose arrows hungered meat
And the blinding flare of passion
In the shade of narrow streets
Where their poison never rationed
All the tips they left in me

Two tracks
Bric-a-brac
Something passed between us
Like a bad crack
Upward-lit
I'd met another kind

Of rat
In fact
With every rome inside me
Licked and ransacked
She haunted at the corners of my mind

In black
Cataracts
Wouldn't whitewash away
Her filthy smoke stack
She burnt me like a furnace
For my future suicide

Lead to the river
Midsummer, I waved
A 'V'' of black swans
On with hope to the grave
All through Red September
With skies fire-paved
I begged you appear
Like a thorn for the holy ones

Cold was my soul
Untold was the pain
I faced when you left me
A rose in the rain
So I swore to the razor
That never, enchained
Would your dark nails of faith
Be pushed through my veins again

Bared on your tomb
I'm a prayer for your loneliness
And would you ever soon
Come above unto me?
For once upon a time
From the binds of your lowliness
I could always find
The right slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
Discolours all with tunnel vision
Sunsetter
Nymphetamine
Sick and weak from my condition
This lust, a vampyric addiction
To her alone in full submission
None better
Nymphetamine

Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
Nymphetamine girl
Nymphetamine, nymphetamine
My nymphetamine girl

Wracked with your charm
I am circled like prey
Back in the forest
Where whispers persuade
More sugar trails
More white lady laid
Than pillars of salt

Fold to my arms
Hold their mesmeric sway
And dance her to the moon
As we did in those golden days

Christening stars
I remember the way
We were needle and spoon
Mislaid in the burning hay

Bared on your tomb
I'm a prayer for your loneliness
And would you ever soon
Come above unto me?
For once upon a time
From the binds of your lowliness
I could always find
The right slot for your sacred key

Six feet deep is the incision
In my heart, that barless prison
Discolours all with tunnel vision
Sunsetter

There's female vocals on that song that originally Cristina Scabbia was supposed to do, but she backed out at the last second.

This is another one of their really amazing songs

Lord Abortion

I was born with a birthmark of cinders
Debris cast from the stars and Mother
A ring of bright slaughter, I spat in the waters
Of life that ran slick from the stabwounds in Her

Dub Me Lord Abortion, the living dead
The bonesaw on the backseat
On this bitter night of giving head
A sharp rear entry, an exit in red
Lump in the throat, on my come choke
The killing joke worn thin with breath

I grew up on the sluts bastard Father beat blue
Keepsake cunts cut full out easing puberty through

Aah! Nostalgia grows
Now times nine or ten
Within this vice den called a soul
Dying resurrection
I dig deep to come again
The spasm of orgasm on a roll...

I live the slow serrated rape
The bucks fizz of amyl nitrate
Victims force fed thair own face
Tear stains upon the drape
I should compare them
To a warm Summer's day
But to the letter, it is better
To lichen their names to a grave

Counting My years on an abacus strung
With labial rings and heartstrings undone

Dub Me Lord Abortion, the living dead
The bonesaw on the backseat
On this bitter night of giving head
A sharp rear entry, an exit in red
Lump in the throat, on My come choke
The killing joke worn thin with breath

Horrorscopes My diorama
A twelve part (so far) psychodrama
Another chained I mean to harm Her
Inside as well as out
A perverts gasp inside the mask
I'm hard, blow My house of cards
All turn up Death, Her bleeding starts
In brute vermillion parts...

Now I slither through the hairline cracks
In sanity, best watch your back

Possessed with levering Hell's gates wide
Liberating knives to cut Humanity slack

My ambition is to slay anon
A sinner in the hands of a dirty God
Who lets Me prey, a Gilles De Rais
Of light where faith leads truth astray

I slit guts guts and free the moistest facces
Corrupt the corpse and seize the choicest pieces
Her alabaster limbs that dim the lit carnal grin
Vaginal skin to later taste and masturbate within

"My heart was a wardrum beat
By jugular cults in eerie jungle vaults
When number thirteen fell in My lap
Lips and skin like sin, a Venus Mantrap
My appetite whetted, storm crows wheeled
At the blurred edges or reason 'til I was fulfilled
Whors d'oeuvres eaten, I tucked Her into
A grave coffin fit for the Queen of Spades
She went out like the light in My mind
Her face an avalanche of pearl, of ruby wine...
Much was a flux, but the mouth once good for fucks
Came from retirement to prove She had not lost Her touch
I kissed Her viciously, maliciously, religiously
But when has ONE been able TO best seperate the THREE?
I know I'm sick as Dahmer did, but this is what I do
Aah, aah, ahh, I'll let you sleep when I am through..."

The suspect shadow sher they least
Expect My burning grasp to reach

The stranglehold, the opened arms
Seeking sweet meat with no holes barred

Rainbows that My razors wrung
Midst Her screams and seams undone
Sung at the top of punctured lungs
I bite My spiteful tongue
Lest curses spat from primal lairs
Freeze romance where Angels, bare
Are lost to love, bloodloss, despair
I weep, they merely stare...
And stare, and stare, and stare, and stare.

okay, make that two

Her Ghost In The Fog

"The Moon, she hangs like a cruel portrait
soft winds whisper the bidding of trees
as this tragedy starts with a shattered glass heart
and the Midnightmare trampling of dreams
But no, no tears please
Fear and pain may accompany Death
But it is desire that shepherds it's certainty
as We shall see..."

She was divinity's creature
That kissed in cold mirrors
A Queen of Snow
Far beyond compare
Lips attuned to symmetry
Sought Her everywhere
Dark liqoured eyes
An Arabian nightmare...

She shone on watercolours
Of my pondlife as pearl
Until those who couldn't have Her
Cut Her free of this World

That fateful Eve when...
The trees stank of sunset and camphor
Their lanterns chased phantoms and threw
An imquisitive glance, like the shadows they cast
On my love picking rue by the light of the moon

Putting reason to flight
Or to death as their way
They crept through woods mesmerized
By the taffeta Ley
Of Her hips that held sway
Over all they surveyed
Save a mist on the rise
(A deadly blessing to hide)
Her ghost in the fog

They raped left...
(Five men of God)
...Her ghost in the fog

Dawn discovered Her there
Beneath the Cedar's stare
Silk dress torn, Her raven hair
Flown to gown Her beauty bared
Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost
I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer

She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood
"Never to part
Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts"

Then this I screamed:
"Come back to Me
I was born in love with thee
So why should fate stand inbetween?"

And as I drowned Her gentle curves
With dreams unsaid and final words
I espied a gleam trodden to earth
The Church bell tower key...

The village mourned her by the by
For She'd been a witch
their Men had longed to try
And I broke under Christ seeking guilty signs
My tortured soul on ice

A Queen of snow
Far beyond compare
Lips attuned to symmetry
Sought Her everywhere
Trappistine eyes
An Arabian nightmare...

She was Ersulie possessed
Of a milky white skin
My porcelain Yin
A graceful Angel of Sin

And so for Her...
The breeze stank of sunset and camphor
My lantern chased Her phantom and blew
Their Chapel ablaze and all locked in to a pain
Best reserved for judgement that their bible construed...

Putting reason to flight
Or to flame unashamed
I swept form cries
Mesmerized
By the taffeta Ley
Or Her hips that held sway
Over all those at bay
Save a mist on the rise
A final blessing to hide
Her ghost in the fog

And I embraced
Where lovers rot...
Her ghost in the fog

Her ghost in the fog

I love cradle of filth, the lyrics are amazingly well written (if perverted) and the music and vocal styles fit the mood they conjur up perfectly. I own the Midian, cruelty and the beast, damnation and a day and Nymphetamine albums. I want to get Principle..... to see what there earlier stuff was like. Fav. songs include:

lord abortion
ghost in the fog
death magick for adepts (midian)

thirteen autums and a widow

I think Liv did an amazing job as the vocals..I love how it kind of bridges in with the "six feet deep is the incision" part. It sounds so amazing.

I have 3 Cradle of Filth albums and i like them all. My favorite song is "thirteen autumns and a widow" on the Album "Cruelty and the Beast". Dani Filth is my most favorite male Singer....(Amy gets the first place for female Singers :)"
But i can understand that many people don´t like him, it´s not everybodys musik. But then i ask myself why "Daniel Küblböck" got on the first place in the german Single Charts,.... for all who don´t know him (and I think and hope that not many of you know him...) he was the third place in ome of those !"&%("§ Castingshows and he can´t sing and is screaming around tho whole time just like Dani Filth (but only Muuuuuuuuuch worse with MUUUUUUUUUUCH more Stupid Lyrics) . Dani's voice in Lord Abortion is fucking amazing. He's got like the hottest male voice ever. Their lyrics are amazing. They're here on December 4th...It's going to be awesome. Someone was telling me about how in Vancouver, Dani would dress up in his costume and just walk up and down the street and scare people. It sounded hilarious.

Bringing this thread back to life... ;)

For some strange reason, Craddle Of Filth is very well known here in Colombia. Don't ask me why. Everywhere I go I see some Shirts or pins or whatever. I went to a very very poor town the last vacations to make social service, and in some stores I saw a lot of stuff of craddle. I was like "wtf? we're in the middle of nowhere".

I really don't mind the Black Metal kind of music. Some songs are cool, but others are way out off the line. Some bands really exagerate. But craddle seems to pull it off very very well. They where here in Colombia two months ago :) . I couldn't go, but I'm happy they came.
One song I really like is Nymphetamine (To be part of the cliché ;)), but the whole version. Not just when Liv sings.

I must admit that their style is creepy, lol. Seriously. A person with a weak mind can easily go crazy litsening to the music. I'm not kidding here. Some people take way too seriously what a band wants to represent with the image and lyrics.

Oh well

Yes...They have a full European tour starting right away. And no, Liv doesn't sing in their other songs. She was solely in Nymphetamine. Orginallyi t was supposed to be Cristina, from LC, but she dropped out last minute so they chose Liv instead. They've got another girl, Sarah, who sings in mosto f thier other songs.

And yeah, Dani is so beautiful in the Nymphetamine video. Everyone should watch it on Launch.com if you've not already seen it. ..They've got lots of videos though...They do have 17 albums out.

Has anybody ever heard "Thank God for the suffering" ...? Amazing lyrics.

And I was really dissappointed to that they didn't play Lord Abortion on the HBB tour! ....I talked to Dani and he promised to play it next time, lol. When I have time, I've got to tell everyone about my connections with Cradle. It's quite the interesting story. Does anybody else know/ever met them??

You know them?! You're so very lucky! I'd like to hear yout story. I think my favorite song by them is 'Her Ghost In The Fog', but I don't know for sure, there's just too many good songs to choose from. Don't you find it a little bit annoying when people gripe about Dani's voice? I think he's got one of the most original voices out there. I know he screams, but to me it sounds as if he's doing it on pitch, if that makes any sense. Plus he doesn't just scream, he alternates from growling, to screaming, to screeching, to singing sometimes, and so forth. Ahh, I could listen to them all day. :D

Not really know them, but there's been a few... "situations" with me and a few of their band members lol. Major age difference, I know...and I've never done anything like that with Dani because of Toni, but yeah. We talked for a few hours after the concert, and i'm pretty good friends with Johnny from Himsa (the opening band on the HBB tour) so he keeps us in contact. Those guys rock my fucking. Al the guys from cradle are so sweet, and they're just so beautiful and amazing. They kept telling me I was so beautiful and how they'd love to have me as a model on one of their albums and Dani and James got pissed because the bus driver kept telling me to show my tits lol. you can tell Dani is a pretty different guy. But they're all amazing. I have so many stories I could tell you guys about but they'd take forever to type.

great band. their lyrics actually have depth and meaning, which is not something commonly found in a lot of today's bands. i just recently got the special edition of their Nymphetamine album. i love everything about it.

my personal favorites of theirs would have to be...

Swansong for a Raven
Nymphetamine
Her Ghost in the Fog
From the Cradle to Enslave
The Smoke of Her Burning

these covers are excellent as well...

Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden)
Angel of Death (Slayer)
Death Comes Ripping (Misfits)
Black Metal (Venom)
The Fire Still Burns (Twisted Sister)
Hell Awaits (Slayer)
Sodomy and Lust (Anathema)
Dawn of Eternity (Massacre)
No Time to Cry (Sisters of Mercy)
Sleepless (Anathema)
For Those Who Died (Sabbath)

the Hallowed Be Thy Name cover especially. makes the original sound like 24K shit.

I know this is probably going to make me unpopular, but I personally thought that Nymphetamine sucked. For me, they've lost something....I think his lyrics are getting worse, and he's losing his voice. They're not as good as they used to be live. I either think their best album is Cruelty And The Beast, or Damnation And A Day. The lyrics on both of them are breathtaking. They're gothic masterpieces. Dani Filth is a genius. A little dwarf, but a genius all the same. I'd love to meet him. He's 5'3", and I'm 6'6". That'd be class. LOL He also shares my birthday. Rock on. :)

Rock on. :)

Actually I didn't think that Nymphetamine was as great as alot of people said it was either, I also think that overall Cruelty is my fav album, they seemed to have more energy on it. I didn't think it sucked, but it wasn't up to the standards of either Cruelty or Midian IMHO.

Im seeing them live in December and I can't wait :)

Nymphetamine really, REALLY strays away from their black metal origin.
A lot more keyboard and orchestral stuff...It's hard to compare.

MrMellow
08-13-2005, 07:55 AM
Personally, I don't think they were EVER black metal...their first album, Principal, was kind of, but apart from that...meh. I would associate bands like Emperor more with black metal. And a lot of black metal has orchestration in (just not real orchestras most of the time, coz they can't afford them). Bands like Dimmu Borgir use real orchestras these days, and it sounds AMAZING....Death metal uses less orchestration. See Bleed Through or Cannibal Corpse....but that's not really my sort of thing.

I 100% agree. Cradle is not a Black Metal band. Nor do I classify them fully as a death metal band. But a lot of people do. They're more just a dark symphonic metal.

And..
Never say Dimmu Borgir is better than Cradle haha...You better sleep with one eye open for the rest of your life ;)

Hold the phone...at no point did I say Dimmu Borgir were better than Cradle. LOL I just said they were a Black Metal band that used real orchestration. Cradle rock that shit a million times better than Dimmu.....

I love the big symphonic stuff, though (probably why I liked Damnation And A Day so much)...but real orchestration. Synthy stuff generally sounds SHITE! I wish metal bands had more money to fund things like real orchestras and stuff.....

On another topic, I still haven't heard anything by Leaves' Eyes (I was listening to Nympetamine and it just occured to me)....are they actually any good?

Apryl
08-14-2005, 05:28 PM
Leaves Eyes is okay...Liv has an incredible voice, but I can't get into their lyrics. They remind me of Nightwihs a lot, so I like them.

Theatre of Tragedy (Liv's old band) had much better lyrics.

This is quite upsetting to me :(

What ? Yet another line up change ? This has to mean that Cradle of Filth go through at least one per album............

Is this going to affect the tour they are currently on ?

On a side note I can't wait for the new material when it arrives. I have yet to be dissapointed with a COF album yet, rare for any band.

I'm sure I read in Metal Hammer that Cradle Of Filth had had something like 17 members come and go over the years.....I might be wrong. It was in the issue of Metal Hammer that had Dani, Tarja from Nightwish and Christina from Lacuna Coil on the front. Last year's Halloween edition, I thiink.

On the subject of Cradle's new album, they better improve on Nymphetamine, or I'm gonna hit them all. In the face. With a large bat.

Cradle have been nominated for this year's Kerrang Awards for Best British Band, I hope they win, because they deserve to. Their competition are:

Stereophonics
Funeral For A Friend
Placebo

So, I think they have a good chance considering the Darkness won last year!

I'm a huge Bathory fan. I love Cradle more, but Bathory is incredible. Definately check out their lyrics if you're into Cradle's style of writing. Yeah....Bathory is fucking wicked...Definately one of my top 5 fav Black Metal bands.

And I can't believe the Darkness won last year haha.... I bet Cradle will win this year for sure just because of Nymphetamine. It's been winning them quite a bit since last summer.

So I finally got interested enough in all this hullabaloo over "Nymphetamine" and downloaded it, not knowing what to expect. I'm proud to say that I could tell I was going to like the song within the first 30 seconds (I was tortured with gradual bits and pieces b/c I have shortbus Internet connection still *isn't technologically savvy*).

This is the heaviest song I've ever liked. *begins descent into decadent morality* I think I mostly like it because of Liv's appearance, though; I can't really picture liking it without her vocals. I'm not sure how that bodes as far as the rest of their music. I'd like to hear more, but titles like "Gilded Cunt" tend to scare me, especially when I'm not a huge fan of that part of the anatomy anyway--much less when it's gilded.

I might just stick to this song; I'll probably try at least one more, though. "Her Ghost in the Fog" is the only one ahead of Nymphetamine in popularity on last.fm (http://www.last.fm/music/Cradle+of+Filth/+charts), so I'm thinking that's next. And apparently "Filthy Little Secret" is supposed to be good.

But I'M STAYING AWAY FROM GILDED CUNT.

Yeah. If you want to check out Cradle, get the Midian album. That's the one that made me a fan of them. If you decide that you do like them, get the Nymphetamine album, and if you want to hear a slightly more Black Metal-ish sound, get the Dusk.. And Her Embrace album. As for songs to check out, I suggest

Nymphetamine (overdose)- It's different than the version that's on the RE soundtrack. Way different.

Lord Abortion- This song is just cool lol.

Her Ghost in the Fog- This is probably their most popular song other than Nymphetamine.

A Gothic Romance (Red Roses For the Devil's Whore)- This is just an amaziing song, that has some of their best lyrics (in my opinion)

Fix doesn't have the long intro and oitro and is only 5:12

Okay lol. Deva-Fix is exactly the same as Fix, but instead of Liv Kristine doing the female vocals, the part is sung (rather horribly) by Sarah Jezebel Deva. She is a female vocalist who has been on every single Cradle of Filth album since Vempire. She normally does all of the female vocals for Cradle of Filth. ::LATEST NEWS::

The latest news from the Cradle of Filth camp is that regrettably, long-term keyboardist Martin Foul (Powell) has sadly parted ways with the band, releasing the following press statement detailing the reasons for his decision:

"Due to pressing personal reasons I have found myself unable to commit my best efforts and time to Cradle of Filth. Despite 5 great years, I which I have acheived along with my colleagues (past and present) a myriad of goals and dreams I have decided to bow out from Cradle. Having played and written music with three greats of english metal (C.O.F., My Dying Bride and Anathema) I am certainly not giving up music in any respect but just need time away from the rigors of being part of a such a time consuming entity as C.O.F. is. I shall endeavour to pursue and perhaps release my own music whenever I am blessed with the time and inclination to do so. I should like to thank Cradle fans and friends the world over for making my time with COF incredibly enjoyable and memorable. I look forward to people hearing from me in the not-to-distant future."

The feeling in the Cradle camp of course is one of profound loss, though a resounding and heartfelt 'all the best for the future' accompanies this recent and unexpected personal turn of events. Obviously this leaves an opening for a replacement Cradle keyboardist, so if there is anyone out there who bares an iota of interest in joining the ranks of the 'Filth, then please feel free to send musical material and accompanying photographic/background information to the management email address as printed on the inside of the recent "Nymphetamine" release. Anybody of any colour, creed or stature is welcome though Phantom Of The Opera-esque mannerisms and creepy facial mask will definitely count in your favour. Note: This will not effect the recently announced UK tour dates in December!

On the positive side however, is the very welcome news that former bassist Dave 'Herr Pubis' Pybus has now taken on the somewhat daunting task of webmaster for the C.O.F official website, a challenge that sits perfectly alongside Dave's current pre-occupation with the recently formed 'Sixsixsix Records' label. So, from everybody involved with the band, a warm and very grateful welcome back.

In a similar vein Dave is also accompanying the band to undertake the forthcoming 'Viva La Bam' MTV 2 television performance in the U.S sometime in June, when the band will feature in a full length episode culminating in a live performance of 'Nemesis' atop a multi-story parking lot somewhere in Philadelphia. This however does not exclude new bass-player Charles Hedger, who has been helping write toward the new album in the recent rehearsal room sessions at Springvale. So far tentative titles for the new material are as follows; 'The Flora Of Nightfall, The Fauna Of War', 'Devil To The Metal' and 'Cemetery And Sundown'. The band are expecting to be back in the studio in the Autumn with a wistful release date of February 2006, though as mentioned elsewhere, the 'Gospel Of Filth' printed foray in to the darkside will be out in shops around Halloween as too will the forthcoming band DVD, recently shot over two nights in Paris and as yet untitled.

He has so mna different voices.

I agree on that. I might not like his "screaming" but he does take care of variety.

I've always said that.
No matter how much you dislike metal, there's no way you can deny the talent in Cradle's lyrics.

Exactly. They're just awesome, so well-written. So very few artists can do that these days, you gotta respect them!!

The Deva version does not suck! It's not as good, but it's the only song you hear Sarah sing full-length on! I love her!

Definately check it out if you haven't heard it. It's not horrible at all.

Yeah,I agree.I've just listened to the Deva Version and I think it's good aswell.Interesting to hear the song with a higher and lower voice.

Btw,thanks to perfect ghost and April for the sites :)

I find myself being addicted to Suicide & Other Comforts; and Nymphetamine.

Now, I'm not asking what their softer albums are, but I am indeed asking which albums do not contain Dani's ....female-ish screaming.

They all have a lot of it...but if you don't like that so much stay away from an of their first albums. Dusk and Her Embrace mainly.

Get Midian, Damnation and Nymphetamine. They have the least of that.

when i first heard nymphetamine i thought liv did those screams, until i saw the video that is ;) it's actually one of the things i like about the song; personally i don't think it's a bad thing that dani has vocals like that on their songs :p

I personally love Dani;s screams, whether they can be described as girly or not. Im not sure why. I do though, he's vocals on Dusk and her Embrace are fantastic if you ask me.

So...so...true. There will never be another vocalist like Dani. He is by far, the best and most unique vocalist I have ever heard, and nobody will ever compare to him.

I was kinda annoyed with the other DVD, considering it was just a DVD rehash of Livebait For The Dead - way to squeeze every possible penny there, CoF! LOL

There are two other DVD's (to my knowledge - don't think there are any more), there's PanDaemonAeon, which was a weird thing that had a couple of versions of the vid for From The Cradle To Enslave, CoF's first video, some live preformances and some other gubbins. The other DVD is called Heavy, Left Handed and Candid, which has a full live set of the band (the same one that's on the CD of Livebait For The Dead, which is why I'm so bitter), a couple of promo vids, and some other backstage fun. :)

Their very first album "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh" has a lot less of it, and his vocals sound different on this relase, and Darren White from Anathema does guest vocals on one song which is cool. The next release "Vempire" is where it starts with that screaming and there is a lot of it on there where it does tend to get annoying, but it is probably their best release. The first three albums of theirs are my favorites of theirs. I havent been able to get much into anything after "Cruelty.."
