I'm going to Crete tomorrow and I've never been before. Any words of wisdom, or just any simple advice I should take? Also, what should I look out for, and what should I be careful with?

Is the water as bad there as it is in Spain? i.e. You can't just drink tapwater? Also which is the best night club out of them all?

Damn, just saw your post! Guess you are already back now. Okay, here is some late (very late) advice. Be careful with the cretes. Don't insult them I mean the guys with the black shirts and huge mustaches. They can be quite easily angered. If you go to a village be careful what you say about the girls. If you happen to walk past a celebration of some sort and hear gunshots, don't worry, it's tradition down here :D.
I hope you didn't drink tapwater as to how clean the water is, that depends on where on Crete you are. Best nightclub of them all? Do you know what greek night club music sounds like? If yes and you like it, try Envy Bedroom if not then something like Privilege or Danza.
And last but not least what you should look out for: ME of course (:'))
