View Full Version : Dating Nerves

I won't go into the whole history, but basically my experiance in dating is almost minimal to nothing at all. I've been on one before about.. 2 years I think it's been now. Kind of pitiful I guess to some since I'm 21. Anyway tomorrow after I get off work a guy I've been talking to who's been really interested in me is taking me out for at least lunch. We might do more later on.

Since it's been about two years since the last time I had a date I have no clue what I can do to calm down my nerves. I'm not currently nervous, but I tend to be exteremly awkward and shy around new people and adding the fact that it's a date might make it a little more complicated.

I do like the guy and so far it seems like it will be easy to talk to him and just enjoy being with someone. I just don't want to get too nervous that I come off too cold or uninterested. Anyone have any tips or things I could do to help me out.

Thanks

I'd tell you to just be yourself and relax. I think it probably helps that you've been talking to him for awhile. I find that if I've been talking to someone for awhile I feel much more comfortable with them on a date. How to get over the case of the nerves? That's a tough one but I think that once you guys go out you'll settle down. It sounds as if you have a connection with him already and that will help you a lot.

Good luck and enjoy yourself!

Thanks. The fact that I've talked to him does help and we seem to connect real well. So I'm not worried about the will he still like me kind of thing. I just get real self-concious around people I don't know real well and worry about making a fool out of myself. I tend to get in the thought that it's all my fault for things.
