Hey, Just wanted to see if anyone on Evboard is a fan of Australian progressive metal band Daysend???? Their debut album "Severance" was voted as #1 metal album of the year on triple J in 2003.
They've also shared the same stage as great aussie acts aswell as Slipknot, Hatebreed, Machine Head, In Flames, Chimaira, The Haunted, Strapping Young Lad, Entombed, and Skinlab! and toured with Otep through America in 2005.
Anyways if you haven't heard them i suggest you check them out :) cheers!
if anyone hasn't hear of SWITCHBLADE they're really talented awesome guys... go to...

Daysend - Officially Part Ways with Frontman - Seek Replacement
DAYSEND have officially parted ways with their vocalist and are actively seeking a replacement. An official press release is below:
"Due to personal commitments, vocalist Simon Calabrese has parted ways with Daysend. After over three years together, all members of Daysend and Simon remain close friends and wish all the best to their former band mate for the future."
"Simon would like to pass on the following: "It saddens me to leave Daysend as the music (old & new) is nothing short of sensational, however it is something that I must do at this stage of my life. Daysend has the capacity to be one of the world's greatest bands and I wish them all the best for the future. I will miss being a part of the Daysend experience but will always remain the best of friends with all of the people associated with Daysend. Lastly, I would like to personally thank all of the fans & friends I have made during my time in Daysend...as I did do all this for you!"."
"Daysend was scheduled to begin recording their second album next month. As a result of this recent development, plans have been put on hold while the search for a vocalist takes place. For further details regarding the audition process please send relevant contact and previous experience information to daysend_music@hotmail.com. Strong, dynamic vocals and a charismatic and menacing stage presence is required."

Daysend announce new vocalist
Hey Guys! Some good news for ya all :-)
Mark McKernan, former frontman for Sydney's Head-Cage has taken over the reins from departed vocalist Simon Calabrese. Already Mark has settled perfectly into Daysend and we are all completly blown away by the voice and personality he brings to the band.
Instantly we are back in the studio writing material for the new album now scheduled later this year. Daysend would like to thank you all for the support you have shown to us through out the difficult time and we must say a HUGE thanks to everyone who tried out.
Simon will have one last show with the band at this years Against The Grain fest in Adelaide July 22nd @ The Bridge Hotel.
THIS SHOW WILL BE HUGE! DONT MISS IT!
Cheers from
Daysend
