I have an Envision EN-910e monitor (and an ATI Radeon 7200 video card, if that matters). It appears that a diagonal streak near the upper left corner of the screen is not lighting up as brightly as the rest of the screen. Most of the time it's not really noticeable, but it clearly shows up if I, say, set my browser to about:blank and turn the monitor so I'm looking at it almost on edge. Honestly, it could have been there all along in the year I've used it. Not a big deal but I still would appreciate suggestions to remedy this. (It's there regardless of which operating system I use.)
99% sure it's just a bad monitor. Nothing you can do except get a new one.

Like Lunaboy said, it's probably a dead monitor. Nothing you can do about it except turn it into a fishtank.
There's a slight chance it could be your refresh rate. You can change it in the graphics card settings in the Control Panel. Set it a little lower and see if that fixes it.
If not, fishtank is the way to go.

I had the same problem before I got my flat pannel monitor. try putting a really strong magnet up to it...the diagonal streak goes away and you get really trippy colors forever:D

Most if not all monitors have a de-gauss or de-magnetize function. Check its manual to see how to do it. You might also check the ATI (http://www.ati.com/) site for the latest video driver called Catalyst and see if that helps. Otherwise live with it or use it as a boatanchor.
I personally am a little leery of buying no-name products just because the price is so low. Lots of stores sell refurbished monitors, see if you can find a Samsung or another reputable brandname.

Do you have speakers near your montor? Sometimes long-term proximity to speakers or magnets screw up the screen. Try moving them further away if you have them close to your monitor. Otherwise, there's not a whole lot you can do.
I forgot about the degauss
That should fix it. Maybe take it to a local shop and see if they can do it for you.
