Just wondering if anyone here plays oblivion! If you do, tell us a little bit about your character and their race, class, guild, etc.

Also for the people like me who have unsupported graphics cards, there's a program out now that allows you to play oblivion if you card is not supported. The graphics might not be as sharp, and the gameplay is only a tiny bit slow. but oh man its so worth it!!

As for me, I currently have an Argonian (lizard lady!!!), she's an assassin born under the sign of the Steed. She's a sister of the Dark Brotherhood (eeeeevil tee hee!), and she has a black horsey with blood red eyes (heck yeah!)

So spill out the info people!

I've been playing elder scrolls games since 'Daggerfall' and this is the first game that I think Bethesda has fully realized(ahem Morrowind ahem).

The first character that I played with was a purist thief: female woodelf with the Thief birth sign. Since I found it incredibly difficult to proceed in the upper levels without a hand-to-hand primary skill, i started over with a nightblade style character and grabbed one of the leveling mods.


I've also found that the Thieves guild quests are incredibly well-thought out and satisfying. Added bonus is that once you complete all of the quests, you get to wear the gray fox's incredibly retarded looking but equally powerful mask and generally be a bad-ass in your new Thieves Guild hall.

I'm curious to see if there are any magic-based players out there and how they feel about the upgraded magic system

Oblivion!I was waiting it for 4 years! I play Altmer,Wizardest wizard,
i 've got an upgrade experience from morrowind,and with this magick
regneration i feel like god there.My best spell damages 300 in the range of 30.Sign is Mage,Archmage of the mage guild,knight of the thorn,brother of blade,champion of cyrodiil.In white robe on white horse.Like Gandalf.
I even felt like gandalf completing final quests:eek: .How can you guys
live there without creating of magical items? my defence is 85 now,
and ive got no idea how to rich that without magick;)
P.S. The final battle was the most impressing one i've ever seen in games WOW!!

Yeah its the greatest game out there at the moment. Eventually I'd like to try out every character, birthsign and class. Once I get my new graphics card I'll have way more fun with the game because i'll be able to see it in all its beautiful glory! I just became a Speaker for the Dark Brotherhood. And finally met the Night Mother herself! Wee....she's creepy. I joined the theives guild too, which is kinda cool, though I wish there were quests involved rather than it being a process where you just steal stuff randomly and sell it.

Ok, a couple of questions. Can you sometimes during the game ever join the Necromancer guild? How to change sides, so you could fight against the good guys and for the demons? Just one more, the cure for vampirism is some 5 empty great soul gems, where could you find them? They're very rare.

I'm not sure about the Necromancer guild. But about the vampirism cure, I have cheats that will give you great soul gems. If you're willing to use cheats. Then let me know and i'll tell you what it is.

If you haven't played too much after you turned in to a vampire, there is another way. Load a save just before you became a vampire, then go to bruma and get blessed in the church. It cures you.

open your cheat console by pressing SHIFT + ~ (its to the left of your 1 key)

type:

player.additem 00015B8C "XX"

where the XX is put the amount of gems that you want. This cheat should give you greater soul gems. If not, let me know. There are about 7 different combos of numbers, but this one should work.

Also, if you just want the vampire cure potion... type these numbers instead:

0009812D

Make sure you put the quantity or these cheats wont work ;)

Bah...cheating isn't fun :( And btw, being a vampire isn't that bad, you get some nice skills and you can be in the sunlight if you just feed on sleeping people ;)

Yeah cheating isnt fun, and i love being a vampire. I have a vampire. She's cool! I got my vampirism the easy way lol Through the Dark Brotherhood lol.

My character is called Vibeke Stene :D She is a breton, her class is a sorceror and she was born under the sign of the theif, but she also has the greater powers of the Tower :D

shes in the thieves guild - shes the grey fox, shes in the Dark brotherhood and shes the listener, she in the mages guild and shes in the order of the virtous blood

I have a lvl 20 Dark Elf now. I've completed the main story and all of the guild mission except the ones for mage's guild. I've also done many other mission.

I'm thinking of starting again, but I have no idea what kind of character to make. My Dark Elf is a sneak and blade expert. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a kill-everything-Ogre or a dodge-everything-Khajit.

i've only just started playing it . i made a dark elf. it does look like a very good game.. shall report more as i get into it .. :)

Im playing Oblivion on 360. I have a level 10 Nord called Wyndihal...don't know where I got the name from haha. The game makes you forget about time. It is huge, it feels endless. You can do almost everything and if you dont feel like doing the main quests, you can do the side quests. If you dont feel like doing quests at all, you can just go around scouting, shopping or hunting. I love Oblivion ;)

Argonians are fun too! Thats what I am. Its great because they are immune to disease and poison and they can breathe underwater. They're cool!

Yeah, at first it's great but after a while it's annoying when your strenght falls when you drink blood and you have to drop some items just so you could walk.
If you like vampire games you should try Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines (for me clan Gangrel is the best) and Blood Rayne 2.
