Not your typical Jim Carrey movie. This movie was weird, but totally awesome. I was fixated on the screen. Kate Winslet's character was so cool. Everyone go see it!

i don't know... from what i gather from the trailers for this movie, it's basically Jim Carrey's character being tormented by the bad memories that Kate Winslett's character "inflicts" on him and he wants those gone, so he has this procedure done, but finds he's losing the good memories with her as well... then essentially, the premise of the movie is that you can't get rid of or ignore any memories that you make because they are all important in some way or another... seems like it's basically about something that i already know, memories and experiences are what makes you the person you are, take them away and you're disassembling the person you've become... i would never choose to do something like that, and therefore can't see myself relating to the story/character(s)... but what do i know?

Then don't go see it, but I feel the need to say I did see the movie. I've seen almost every single one of Jim Carrey's movies and his character is not the same character he usually plays.

I loved the movie. It wasn't what I expected at all when I went to see it. I especially liked Elija's character (Patrick). He got to play an "almost bad-guy", and he did a great job with it.

"You took her panites??!!!"

Jim Carrey is by far my favorite actor. I can't wait to see this movie. And I fell in love with Kate Winslet when she was in Titanic (yeah I know... BANNE!) HEHE... I can't wait to see it though. It looks different, but Jim Carrey makes everything great. :D

I rented Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Butterfly Effect on Saturday, and i have to say i loved them both (i wouldve loved Eternal Sunshine a lot more if my mum hadnt have been asking me every 5 seconds wtf was happening). Very thought racking. I loved Kates character but in the first few scenes she just came across as someone with issues :p . I think it was a bit of a coincidence that after having their memories erased they met up again, but i love a happy ending so im not complaining :) I watched the DVD extras and i think its great how spontaneous the director was (a parade started whilst they were filming so he saw the opportunity and filmed the scene with kate and jim watching the parade together). My favourite scene out of the whole film was the last memory of Joels that was erased, in the house on the beach. It was so emotional, and i had to hold the tears back :p

I think imma rent it again, because i only started to understand the storyline halfway through the film so i missed some bits. Great film though..Jim Carrey is a freakin' legend!

I don't consider it a "Jim Carrey" movie because movies labelled that...well, suck. As with The Truman Show, he's the star, but not the reason the movie is excellent. I love this film, but I give props to the director, Charlie Kaufman (the brilliant writer), and Kate Winslet before I even say anything about Jim. It's sad that when he talks out of his ass, it makes 400 million worldwide, but if he does an intelligent film with actual acting, no one hears about it until it's on DVD. I saw Eternal Sunshine in theatres and I'm all the happier for it.

*bumps* oops!! lol ? :p

I rented this movie last night thursday and I just.. wow!

It's a great movie, but in my opinion even more great for what it makes you think, and the message it leaves.

Also I have to admit it was a great thing I rented it and didn't go to the cinema to watch it... hehe.. I had to see twice the beggining lol.. got kinda lost :p

I so recommend this movie :) Go rent it!

I absolutely loved this movie, definately not a usual Jim Carey movie and it is sometimes good to escape those cliche's. Kate Winslet was just brilliant and the whole movie was just original and twisted :)

i saw this movie like 2 weeks ago for the first time and i loved it. it was completely based on the artistic side of movie making rather than the special effect crap that most movies are based on nowadays. i was blown away by Jim Carrey's performance in this movie because I was so used to seeing him play some kind of goofy character in his other movies. And Kate Winslet, what can I say about her- she has always been brilliant and I think that she pulls off red hair like no one else! lol. Great movie, if you haven't seen it yet- go rent it!! ;)
