The Aussies have got their "Aussie pride" - Thread so why shouldn't we also get one? So where do you come from in Europe? And why would you choose Europe over any other place in the world?

No Euro-Pride from my side, sorry!

I like my city but I dislike my country and the EU policy piss me off.

Benefits? Mmmmmmmmmmm... small countries, different languages, cultures, friends, food... interesting profiles indeed...

Yeah, I'm kinda proud to be European. I come from Italy, but hopefully I'll go abroad after highscool. One thing I really love about Europe are the different cultures and the beautiful cities. You drive five hours by car and you're in a totally different country and culture - in the US you fly five hours by plane and you're still in the same country :D

Anyway - as I said, I'm proud, but I don't like the whole EU-Policy, but Europe is not equal EU :)

Yup... five hours by plane and they're still flying over the country... I agree! Perhaps that's a main reason because the last war held in the US is dated 1861-1865

European Pride? Huh?

From the Media:

For many years, Europe has been shaken by the various demands for regional autonomy. We think of the Basque country, Catalonia, Scotland, Kosovo, Flanders. These demands go hand in hand with a demand for the complete regionalisation of the European continent.

The European construction lends itself perfectly to these aims. Indeed, it is already possible to prove that the Europe which is being prepared for us is a federal state based on ethnically-based regions and dominated by Germany.

The vision which Germany has been pursuing for centuries, and especially since the 19th Century, up to the present day within the framework of the European Union. Indeed, whether by politico-juridical means or by military ones, the German authorities have always aimed at "separating the ethnic reality from the straitjacket of statehood and there-by re-write the map of Europe", to use the words of one 19th Century thinker.

Today, this plan has achieved unprecedented impetus within the European construction. It is possible to demonstrate that five EU documents, which are in reality German in their inspiration, specifically plan to Balkanise Europe into little ethnic parcels: the Charter of regional and minority languages; the convention for the protection of minorities; the charters for local and local autonomy; and the convention for cross border co-operation, whose purpose is to transform states borders into mere administrative frontiers.

These Germano-European plans aim to re-model Europe according to ethnic criteria. France, Spain, Great Britain, without mentioning the states of central Europe, which are undermined by micro-ethnic groups, will literally explode as a result of ethno-linguistic rights coupled with total regional autonomy. The principle is all the stronger since in 1997 the United Nations recognized the "right to Heimat", whose purpose is to permit German expellees from the Sudentenland, Silesia and Pomerania to return to the territories they occupied before the expulsions of 1945.

Germany is the greater victor in this, because Germany has an ethno-cultural identity which means that, unlike the other states, she will not be cut up into little pieces in a Europe divided upon ethnic lines.

The German political class has always aimed at, whatever the regime the country was under, was very nearly realised by Nazism. The map of the Europe of the Regions drawn up by the Waffen SS on the basis of ethnic criteria is a precursor of Germany's present day European policy. This map, which is now more than fifty years old, corresponds exactly to Germany's policies within the European Union - not in the methods used to achieve it, but in the goal. The extent of the phenomenon today can be seen in the fact that the German Interior Ministry gives support to about one hundred regionalist organisations in Europe.

What will this lead to in the future? A European state divided into regions would have its political, economic and military centre in the zone which has no ethnic subdivisions. Germany is the great beneficiary in this affair, or more precisely the German speaking area which would become the spearhead of the European empire. This project is already recognized by EU bodies because someone discovered an ethnic map of Europe published by a political party (The Democratic Party of the Peoples of Europe - Free European Alliance with the Greens) with the financial support of the European Parliament. This map breaks up all states of the EU - except Germany - into little pieces.

In addition there are a series of regionalist movements which work in the European Parliament: Corsican, Scottish, Welsh, Basque, Catalan and so on. The body which co-ordinating this project of dynamiting the states of Europe works in direct liaison with German-European institutes such as the Federal Union of Ethnic Communities or the European Centre for Minorities Issues. So the kind of Europe which awaits us has been carefully planned. The only thing left now is to fight this Europe of tribes which can only further the global destruction of all states.

I envy the Americans: One Flag, One Country, One People. *sigh* :(

Listen, I just wanted to say with my post, that I'm proud to be European, coz I'm proud what this continet achieved in all those years. Yeah, yeah, and now please everybody comes with the World War bla bla bla. I believe there are 1,000 reasons to love our continent - but it doesn't matter to me if out there are peple who say: "Fuck Europe." It's okay. Maybe it has also to do that I'm coming from a part of Italy where three languages are spoken in publicity (German, Italian and Ladin, an old Roman language) - and it works great! and also that's why I can already "live" the "European idea".

And I have never said that I want an "European State". Show me where I said that?!?! I just said I love Europe as continent and all the cultures we have. And because of I love Irish people, French people, German people and all other folks here I love Europe.

And the Americans - um, yeah, nice for them. And the last war dated in US was more than 100 years ago... but war because of US... give me a minute to think about it :o  :( Anyway - when I talk about Europe I talk about my home and NOT politics.

i agree with you gil! i like portugal and my city but...we are not united! as persons, portuguese people suck sometimes...they are disgusting man! i don't see people from europe doing things that some portuguese dudes do! we are nice to people from other countries ( in rock in rio and the euro 2004 you could see that) but we as a nation, are not good for each other! i think in spain happens the same (like people from madrid and barcelona). here we have that conflite too (people from lisbon and from oporto) and that sucks! i think some behavior is because of the population's age. they are not openned to progress. they are still acting like 30 years ago. they spit on the floor, they are not polite and they don't respect other people. they are like cave men! there's a lot of people here that are too old. youger people are living the country and going to other european countrys. life here sucks and the EU is not helping like they say. there's a lot of poor people and we pay the highest taxes in Europe. as a continente, europe is nice. nice countries and culture. nothind bad to say about that! i might look a bit anti-portugal but that's my point of view! i still like portugal though...
