I thought this was too UK-specific for the main Ev discussion board.

Basically, I got a phone call from my sister who's been watching Strictly Come Dancing, apparently one of the couples on the show has been practising their dance routine to Bring Me To Life. She said she'd seen it twice on the 6:30 BBC2 show. She also said though that sometimes they change the song they use on the Saturday main show, so I dunno if they'll use it then.

But um yeah, if you get bored at 6:30 or on Saturday night, it may be worth a quick look.

Anyways, the couple on 'Strictly Come Dancing' is Brendan Cole & Sarah Manners (Bex the receptionist in Casualty). They've been practicing a dance called the "Paso Doble" (known as a dance of the bullfight) to "Bring Me To Life" with Sarah wearing a black & purple gothic style dress.

hehe...i watched that the other night...i was just sat wathcing a film in my bedroom with my friend when my mum came in and i though...."no, that cant be BMtL? can it?" so irushed through to the livng room "wake me up inside...." hehe cant wait till saturday *hides in shame from quirkyness* lol...
i couldnt hear whether it was the bliss mix or not....if they have the woman singing, i doubt the man would do the rap lol...it would be quite funny though :D

Guitars... rapped vocals... the whole song doesn't seem like something that would be used for something that's supposed to be elegant and gliding.

Don't get me wrong, the song is elegant in a way and gliding but not in ballroom dancing way.

It would be cool if they did BMTL on this show but i highly doubt that they would dance to this song somehow but i could be wrong. Ill be watching to see though! :)

Well 1) the dance isn't 'elegant and gliding', it's downright stupid and hilarious to watch, and 2) apparently what they do is, they practise to a normal song during the week, then on the Saturday live show they have a big band doing a crappy cover of [insert song name here] instead. So if they do use it it wouldn't be like they'd be dancing around to the proper version, it'd be a live orchestra version. 'Cept the orchestra isn't full-size and is a bit crap.

I don't watch the show and what I had seen gave me the impression it was mostly ballroom dancing...

Talked to me sis yesterday and I asked her if they *ever* use the proper track, she says no, they always do it with an orchestra, and they always do it with a random vocalist. I reckon it's probably because the whole thing is for charity (I think?), and I guess if they used the proper track they'd have to pay a royalty fee, so they have their own crappy/comedy version instead I guess.

OMG it was just on. argh they DID have their own singers instead of amy and paul. they didn't even do the full song, cut off before the bridge... *goes to get cd and listen to real version* haha!

I couldn't even concentrate properly on the dance. The cover was bloody awful!!!
The vocals made me want to rip my ears off. The music itself wasn't too bad in comparison but bloody hell. It made me cringe.

I taped it so I could watch it again and have a good look at the dance but I had to stop because I really couldn't stand it.

What I got from the dance though, was that it was very good. Dramatic, it really fit the song. I mean the actual song not the cover. Credit to the dance but eek don't make me listen again!

Lol it was so bad. I was out when it wa son but I got it taped and just watched it. Man yeah, the vocals, from the very start, just made me want to stick pencils in my ears or something. The backing was a bit weird too actually.. it was okay but there was a long-ass pause between the first verse and chorus, which I know is there on the video version of BMTl but it's not there on any other version... and I think they cut it off after one chorus because I guess they probably couldn't do a four minute dance or something. Nobody else ont he show did a really long dance so I guess they only had time for one verse and one chorus. Then again after hearing those vocals, I think not having the full song was probably a good thing :D
