so i was looking around the site, noticed we had a lot of guitarist and a help learn guitar thread (Even did a little search). so what was missing? well this being and evanescence chat form how about some evanescence tabs? so figured (encroching on the various free tab sites about) those who play the guitar can post there favourite evanescence songs on here and how they believe it should be played using a tab + any notes to illastrate, and others can comment

heres how i play bring me to life on electric guitar

Intro isn't correct.

this would be a direct piano arranged for guitar.

e|--------19---17---19---20----24----19--
B|---17------------------------------------
G|-----------------------------------------
D|-----------------------------------------
A|-----------------------------------------
E|------------------------------------------

Verses alternate between E5 (022xxx) and E5addminor6th (03xxxx)

Chorus is E5, G5, D5

Bridge is the 1st position most part of the E Minor Scale.

Chorus is same

and thats pretty much it, song is in Standard Tuning

If you wanna play the intro like I know how Ben Moody played it on guitar

e|-----------------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------
G|----------------------9--------------------------------------------

Fallen guitar book is nice. I haven't learned any of the songs in it yet, but i have it and they look fantastic. If anyone wants me to do a quick check on like what note a certain song starts on, i can do that for you, just pm me. It also includes piano fills and the piano for MI and BMTL, i believe. It's worth it to get it. I've also seen a lot of nice tabs online...for some of the older songs, try www.ultimate-guitar.com. I like that site.

You can buy the books, that would work too...

To play Bring Me To Life properly you would need to drop D it. The D chord
is dropped when you hear it, it is not a high D.

D 2 5 0
A 2 5 0
D 2 5 0

sounds better! try and you can figure out how to play the rest with Drop D
tuning. Im too lazy to write it all out!

Haunted solo is easy, how about a moderate one, like the solo in Open Your Eyes by Alterbridge, fast alternate picking

Sabacca
09-09-2004, 11:14 PM
Yes the solo in Haunted is easy, why dont you try Metallica's No Remorse Solo in the beginning. You'll be sitting there for quite some time...

Rocker3829

or the solo in Avenged Sevenfold's "Second Heartbeat" lots of sweep picking

sabbaca, Bring Me To Life is most definitely in standard tuning, as told to this board by Mr. Benjamin himself. I think the reason you are hearing the low D is because of Will's bass.

The easiest solo is GU. Haunted is facil too! :p Whisper's is just fun to play. :) I'm gonna tab out the Bleed one myself. I just tabbed the Munsters Theme song. LOL! :D

I can almost play the whole Ride the Lightining solo! Still working on it tho...I have a list of solos I planned to learn...Crazy Train, Fight Fire with Fire, Mr. Crowley..+ more...

And A7X rox.

Alternate tunings with a Floyd Rose is a biznitch. :( I think I'm gonna buy an Epi LP Studio...

Anyone have the MI solo? Otherwise I'll tab it...

Yes, in the book Bring Me To Life is standard E tuning. However, it is more fun and in my opinion, it sounds much better.

An easier way of playing Going Under is standard E tuning, unlike the book says.

7
9 5 7 7
9 5 5 7 - Main part
7 3 5

Taking Over Me is easier in drop D tuning unlike the book in drop A

7 10 3 10 9
7 7 3 10 9 Opening
7 7 3 10 9

7 9-10 3 7 10-9 7 9-10-9
7 9-10 3 7 10-9 7 9-10-9 Main Chorus
7 9-10 3 7 10-9 7 9-10-9

In these tunings you can still play with the song with nothing sounding bad.

It's probably quite difficult to find guitar tabs/chords on any non-Fallen material but I've been looking and I haven't had much luck.
I'd like to see "Away From Me" and "Where Will You Go" especially.

Thanks for posting these!
I'm not quite sure of the credibility of the Away From Me chords though...
It didn't sound quite right so I tried to figure it out for myself and my personal opinion was that the chorus progressed as Em C G D...
I'm still an amateur guitarist so I may very well be wrong but that sounds a lot more accurate.
As for Solitude, that's a great tab and I heart it.

Thanks for trying though hun, my friend heard the acoustic version and absolutely fell in love with it... Well, he learned it by ear, but he would still like the tab. I still have yet to hear it, he said he heard it on some radio station during an interview...

But yeah, thanks again for trying though :)
