i dress preppy at school because there's NO gothic and/or punk people in my grade....if there was i'd totally wear it...but my friends i have now would totally abandon me ....
but again if i dressed in black n' stuff...i'd definatly wear it..

Anyway, I don't judge by appearances much. I'll admit I do sometimes, cause hey, we all do.

Today I saw this dude who looked like some ...fat, lazy dude...he walked right IN FRONT of my car and pointed at ...nothing?? and yelled, "There's a stop right there, ASSHOLE"...I was like...the fuck? There's no stop painted on the ground...weird dude. He kept on walking when he should've just waited...uh...

Anyway...you'll always meet peoples who don't look like a certain type of peoples but they just might surprise you. Start talkin with this dude who's stayin to himself, then next you know, he's killin everyone in battles.

I don't dress to "fit in" or to be accepted by anyone...I dress how I want to dress. If I was you, I wouldn't dress like a prep just to fit in...I wouldn't give a fuck. I mostly wear urban brand clothing, which is probably like 85% of my apparel, but I wear some skater clothing too...I like that World Industries shit :D and I got a few No Fear shirts...

Ooer. I definately would do Amy-Styled eyeliner-osity.. if my parents allowed me to do such things. And if I didn't have a constant tendency to stab myself in the eye with these kinds of things.


And it's true about goth people. They are cool. Nice and whatnot. I find that most Punk and Goth people are nicer than "normal" people.

Antonio Banderas wore eye liner in The Thirteenth Warrior, and I haven't respected him since. ...Well, Spy Kids may have had an influence, but guys still shouldn't wear eyeliner. At least in my opinion.
Why worry about makeup when you don't need it? I think that eyeliner is unneccessary to wear. I can understand make up that covers up things like acne, but not eyeliner.

Liquid eyeliner is fantastic to achiever the "Amy" look.. you can buy it at a drugstore- or if you want better quality go to sephora.

im homeschoooled and so noone cares what i wear to school... but all my friends seem to think im goth... im not tho, i just dont care what people think when i wear whatever i want...

in our sch.. we can only pierce exactly 2 holes on our ears parallel.. not more than or less than 2. n only earrings in silver or gold colors.. diameter not more than 3mm!!! wt kinda rules r these?!! sighh.. so.. it is very clear that NO MAKE UP is allowed in our sch. (and most hk schs)
we hv uniforms too.. so all we can do is to wear an oversized pullover n blouse to make us look better.

I DID do the drippy eyeliner thingy, well it wasnt really drippy, more like insterestingly shaped lines going down from my eyes. I do it quite often actually. I did it at a friends a few weeks back, and for halloween and basically whenever i feel like it. I told my friends I was going to do the drippy eyeliner on the monday then kerrang came out on the wednesday and everyone thought i was copying. fools!

And I'm in a preppy school too... mufti days are sooo funny because you have a huge wave of colour (ick) and the all in black with the drippy eyeliner just stands out. I would totally wear the drippy look, heck with what people think,if i like it then i'll wear it and if people look at me weird then i'll just smile and wave, or if it's someone i don't like i'll flick them off. In my school theres alot of punks and goths so i'm kinda lucky..still if there weren't eny other punks or goths i would still dress as one cause i like to be different. and i think you get the dripy effect by crying when you have the eyeliner on :P

you can buy the eyeliner anywhere... liquid and pencil... and... yes i would to certain places.. i cant to school... cause i would get kicked out... lol... but other places yes... and i think you should dress how you want... whether you want to look like a hottopic model or yourself... or like amy lee... you can... and dont depend on other people to do it... or if they like how you dress... it only matters to you and you alone. screw everyone else. :D

But i don't think i would go around with it looking dripping.....I don't think Amy does either on an everday basis......I love purples black, brown.....I think that covers it :).......I just thank God i don't work at a job where i can't have my eyebrow peircing in :shock:

Now, the nose - THAT'S money.

I don't get it tho, he must have a very severe case of the skin disease. Cause I have a friend who's black as well and has the same disease, but he can stay out in the sun (not for a long time tho)...and he takes medicine for it. Couldn't Michael have just taken medicine, or was his case just too severe?...no idea...

There was this special on him on T.V. a while ago. There was this one part where they said that if he was to get another nose job, his whole nose would collapse because the bone is so thin. They also said that the air in his house is purified because of his nose. It's really sad.

I wear eyeliner that's black w/ a bit of sparkles for awhile now. I've been sharpening it , so now it's half the length it was when I got it.

I don't do liquid eyeliner. I SUCK at it. Really, I do. I can't make a straight line with it on my eyes to save my life. I don't do the style that was mentioned earlier in this post (all around the eye, dripping).

I use the stick eyeliner, black as black can get. If I'm going for something dramatic, I'll do it all around my eye. If I'm trying for something a little softer, I'll do only the top with black and the bottom and inside corners with white/ish silver eyeliner accent. I used to never know how to apply eyeliner (or makeup in general) until I rented a book called "Making Faces" by Kevyn Aucoin (I think that's how his last name is spelled). He makes over faces so amazingly. I love him. I've taught myself to do almost everything in that book. He also has another book out called "Face Forward" but his first is my favorite.

Anyone who dresses up as Mr. Eric Draven is magno sexy .. and the Amy being young thing, I get the vibe too.. I don't think it's the eyeliner though. I think it's the outfit lol - despite the words all over it, it makes her look like a young'n to me.

If it wasn't for my family, I'd probably go crazy with eyeliner and other make up goodies. I've been taking itty bitty steps though, doing more things with eyeliner and whatnot. When it comes to concerts, parties, etc .. I always go crazy though. I don't like to get attention from it though even though that does happen, but having a reason to go all out with your creative side is a rare opportunity for me.

You guys are aware that the fathead Benji of Good Charlotte also had that look going for awhile? Personally, I don't think I would want to, and plus, alot of styles may look good on stars, but it probably wouldn't work for you. It's just a trend, and usually you shouldn't go with that, it often doesn't look right. In fact, I think it's just false advertisement to paint tears on your face, are you really that sad and depressed that you feel the need to paint tears on the face? And on top of that, it makes you look like a clown, no offense to anybody.

If anything, try messing around with makeup instead of copying what other people have done of the years, and make it your own.

Yea a lot of people at my school are ignorant and they make fun of me for my eyeliner (dripping amy like) and my armwarmers,corsets,combat boots, and sometimes pink tutus over my black dickies. Those kinds of people I've come to ignore. Yea a lot of people at my school are ignorant and they make fun of me for my eyeliner (dripping amy like) and my armwarmers,corsets,combat boots, and sometimes pink tutus over my black dickies. Those kinds of people I've come to ignore. yea ur lucky u can pull that off i mean i can to some extent but the only time i brake the HEAVY dripping eyeliner look is when im goin to a party or this halloween even thou i just hun g out wit friends, and some times when i chill wit my gf but thats it.

I just got this really good eyeliner from Clinique. One side is just a regular eyeliner and the other side is a smudger with an eyeshadow! It's really pretty when you put both of them on. :D

To be honest, sorry to dig up an old thread but this has just come into my notice too.

I'm over 6 foot tall, pretty well built from the gym and with long black hair. Luckily I don't get the homophobic insults because (a) they think I'm too big (b) they know I'm an ex-martial artist and have been training in wrestling for quite some time now and they assume I could hand them their asses.

I just went to an 80's party and I decided to go as a punky/goth character. Got the Cure shirt out, etc, safetypins and all kinds of stuff going on. Then I finally got the guts to try Eyeliner out, despite feeling very hesitant about looking girly.

Funnily enough i've never had so many chicks check me out, and actually come up and talk to me. (And not to find out what brand I use, hahaha) But one phrase I heard spoken of me alot once I had left was the word "hot".

Now I'm not used to that kind of thing. After the party I went to McDonalds and yet another chick came over to talk to me.

well i wear eyeliner every day...just normally black and/or green (its soo hot mi green eyeliner)....i wear it under and on top of mi eyes....and to the corners to make mi eyes look bigger :) and sometimes i team it up wit eye shadow and mascara.....and i get comments (good comments) on the green...but if i didnt id be like meh thats ur oppy i wear wat i want...and i totally dig the tear look !! altho i wud not wear it to skool for several reasons (eg not allowed,get in trubl from teachers etc) i wud wear it to a mad dressup party or just mucking around or mab a disco....
neways...tipson applyin for whoeva asked...this is how i do it
start at the inner corner of ur eyes..usually pull ur eye down a bit so u can go on the bottom of the fleshy pink part of ur eye,and u have to have a steady hand lol *yowch!*
draw a line across the bottom of ur eyelid to the outta part of ur eye.
half close ur eye and do the same on the top,startin at the inna corner

using a colour like green,go underneath ur eyelashes and make a visible line...go on the inner corner of ur eye where the black hasnt been...etc etc....just go crazy :-)

If your "friends" will abandon you if you dress unconventionally, then they're not your friends, are they? Your real friends will accept you no matter what and it sounds like your "friends" are just a bunch of superficial bitches who needs to open their minds and grow the hell up. I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but that's what I think. You need to find yourself some real friends because you deserve better.

I wear eyeliner but I'm a girl. I've never actually seen a guy wearing eyeliner aside from celebrities, people in bands or in movies or tv etc. So I don't know how I feel about guys wearing it but I think I'd probably say no they probably shouldn't. But I dunno, I think I'd have to actually see it in 'real life' before I could make a proper judgment. I think guys with black nail polish can be cool tho.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd never wear Amy like dripping eyeliner out, like in the street or shopping centre or anything and not even to a party, unless it was like a Halloween party or something but we don't really do Halloween in Australia so that probably wouldn't ever happen. I'd like to try it some time tho, but I think it'd have to be at a time or in a situation where it didn't look totally wierd. But if I was some kind of performer, like in a band or something, I'd totally do it.

I hate any kind of attention tho, so that's why I wouldn't wear crazy, unconventional eyeliner out in everyday life. I hate people looking at me, even if its for positive reasons, I can't even take compliments. Lol.

I have worn eyeliner occassionaly, but I usually just like to wear red eyeshadow around my eyes instead. I do wear black nail varnish though, but I only put it on half of my nail, the lower half, because my nails are long and look weird when they're fully painted lol. I don't just wear black varnish though, I tend to mix it with other colours. Right now some of my nails are black, and some are dark blue. Looks cool.

And to Broken: Like most everybody else has said, you should just be yourself. You shouldn't have to look a certain way to fit in. If you dress "goth" and are rejected by people, then they aren't worth being friends with anyway because they are just shallow.

I loooove eyeliner.... I wear a lot of it, I like it. Sadly I can't wear it a lot under the eye because I have glasses and a bit baggy eyes (thank you mom for your genes) but it's cool.

I saw this liquid eyeliner, it was purple and so cool, I'm dying to get it, but it cost like 12euros, omg :eek:

I wear eyeliner- I used to wear more than I do now, but I've settled down. I also have dark pinky-red and purple eyeliners aswell which Ive started to wear more often... I wear black nail polish aswell but it chips easy so right now im sticking to red- but the think that pisses me off about it is that if u wear black, your a goth, well thats how things work around my school- its pretty pathetic. I think eyeliners cool- it seems to bring out my eyes more, which is good because I think their my best feature, but on days like this when its 35 degress C, it sucks because it always smudges... :rolleyes:

As for the attention drawing stuff, I've done it, but only mucking around and experimenting and it looks really cool, but I dunno if id wear it in public, maybe for a dress up thing or something like that. We put eyeliner like that on my friend phil and it turned out pretty good, but it was really hard to wash off because the next day he still had dark eyes. :D

yea i too wear eyeliner. i haven't seen many guys wear it but hey i would have no problem with it. it might look sexy. lol well i perfer merle norman eyeliner. i mostly wear black but the dark blue isn't bad either. you cant even tell it's blue. well anyway sorry im rambling. i dont wear it like amy does with the designs. i never seem to get it to look right.
