Aww, man, after I voted Final Fantasy. Oh well. ;)
I played Radical Dreamers... really briefly. Lotsa text I didn't understand. @_@ I thought someone was translating it, though, so I may look into that soon. As for Chrono Break, the group that made CC and will [likely] be in charge of the next game are behind Final Fantasy XI... basically word is that they're not going to be moving on to the next project until they're satisfied with FFXI in terms of game expansion packs and stuff. So it'll be a while yet. :(

I thought it was a great move considering the $100 million loss with FF: TSW. Enix and Square have always been pretty powerful competitors. Enix has always had the upper hand in Japan and Square in North America. Both have pretty good games as well. It seems like a wise move all in all.
Out of the list, I chose Final Fantasy. Overall though, I can't get enough of the Xeno series. If everything goes well, we'll be seeing five more episodes of the Xenosaga series. :D
I would like to see some more installments of the Chrono series. Despite popular opinions of people at other boards, I felt that Chrono Cross was a great sequel. There is so much more that can be done with the Chrono series if Square-Enix would give it a chance. So far, the president of Square-Enix has only made mention of making the Final Fanasy series, the Dragon Warrior series, and the Kingdom Hearts series as its main foundation stones for games. There will be other games released I'm sure, but these are the ones they are counting on to be their top sellers.

DDR, Final Fantasy, Mario, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Madden...were all part of the top 15 games chosen by the viewers. I think there might have been one or two more, but I don't remember.
I was surprised Zelda got the #1 nomination..and DDR was #15...too bad it wasn't higher up, but it's still great that it made it on the list. I finally have room to play it (I can actually put the mat on the floor now), but I've been sort of busy lately and tired as hell, so...when I get home...I'm in no mood to play the damn game...someday maybe.

Well, Resident Evil is actually clasified (in the gaming world) as a Survival Horror game. RPGs usually involve indepth story with experience points and having battle sequences.
I don't know about today, but I know in the days of SNES, Zelda wasn't considered an RPG, it was an adventure game (because you don't actually level up).
Germ
01-11-2004, 09:14 PM
Yeah. Some people consider Zelda to be an action role play game, but it's not technically an RPG unless it involves exp and leveling charactors up. RPGs used to be all about the story, but action and horror games started with the stories, so Zelda doesn't really pass any more.

Looks like Grand Theft Auto may become an even more popular series. Or better anyways.
I was looking up reviews for NFL Street and came across an article that the next Grand Theft Auto will be titled GTA: San Andreas
Originally, it was titled GTA: Sin City
Yeah, so they've basically covered NYC and Miami...now Cali :D and hopefully soon enough, Las Vegas.
What's left after that? I'd like to see Japan :D
Just when it seemed that it was a safe bet the next Grand Theft Auto game was going to be called GTA: San Andreas, three more official Grand Theft Auto titles have surfaced.
On December 21, 2003, one week after it registered GTA: San Andreas, Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive registered Grand Theft Auto: Bogota, Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo, and Grand Theft Auto: Sin City with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Since neither Take-Two nor Rockstar are officially commenting, it's anybody's guess whether the three GTA titles are potential monikers for the fifth official Grand Theft Auto game, future installments in the crime adventure franchise, or merely decoys.
Take-Two also registered acronym variants of the titles (GTA: Bogota, GTA: Tokyo, and GTA: Sin City), meaning it still may adopt a shortened, less felonious naming scheme. However, since the company also now registered the full Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas title (previously, only GTA: San Andreas was announced), that could also not be the case.
So it looks like Tokyo, Colombia, and Vegas are now possible future titles...:D personally I'd love to play all three of those titles. I'm not much of a video gamer anymore (with the exception of a few sports games that I look forward to each year..that being football, basketball, and wrestling) and more games coming out nowadays is crazy and hard to play and all..but Grand Theft Auto..:D

I love the Unreal series (Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament 2003). UT04 is coming out soon and I can't wait, although it's probably just going to be a tweaked UT03. It's just a really fun game, lot's of action and beautiful graphics! Quake is also pretty good.
No one will have heard of them but I'm also a big fan of the Ultima RPG series - there were loads of them, and have basically shown the progress of RPGs since they started out, as the first game was made in 1980.. Although the first 6 had quite lame graphics, the plotlines were detailed and well thought out, and they managed to maintain that even after improving the graphics later on.
I also quite liked the Tomb Raider series, as I have the first 4 (although I never actually completed any of them.. *feels lame*) I hated the films, (the only good point was AJ) and I thought that the other games after that were completely selling out, but the first few games were fun.

Anyone remember this? I looked it up on gamefaqs earlier this mornin and it was released in 89, so it's a pretty old game. I played this on the Sega Genesis as a kid, but I had access to the other versions of the game. I played it on an imported Sega Genesis..so the game was Japanese. Anyways, it was Alex Kidd 3 or something possibly (my memory's not sure). But that game was fun!...mummies, pyramids, cars... that shit was fun.
Donkey Kong Country - that series needs to be released onto the Gamecube as a bonus disc with a new Donkey Kong Country game (or that one with the drums comin out this fall)..I played the Country series too much, same with Land. We played that shit for hours...
Star Fox  I played the first one on SNES and it was...weird. I played the second one (never released) on an emulator at a dude's house I think (or maybe I didn't  ), and I just recently bought the N64 version, which is fun...and hard!! (for the real boss path anyways)
Def Jam Vendetta :D they're releasing a second one later this year. I'll be buyin that game the week it comes out probably..
And one mo..Bomberman...I have all the Super NES versions on an emulator (including Super Bomberman 5 which was never released in the US. I played that shit on a real SNES befo (which was actually on a disk that you put into a converter that went into the SNES - don't know what it's called..it was my cousin's)...I got Bomberman Generation and Jetters, and I played Game Boy versions and Bomberman World in the arcade..
DDR...can't leave this one out. I ain't played this in awhile and I never really did practice so I suck at it. I first saw it when some dude was playin it in an arcade in Jersey, and later I found a pad and DDR USA for $50 in an underground mall in Flushing  I suck at the game tho.....blah
What's weird is my cousins who owned the systems never played video games much. They just had them  and a lot of games. Whatever...it entertained me as a child so

i'm a really athletic person so i'm into sports games, my favorite being the FIFA SOCCER series. Donkey Kong is definitely up there. i LOVE DDR!!! i'm really good at it. i like the 5th mix the best. i play on trick and maniac levels.

i've played the Fifa games befo. they're alright (i'm not a big fan of soccer so..)
Smackdown is fun, since I'm a wrestling fan. The NBA Street series is fun...the NBA2K series was fun too, but got old after awhile. Especially when they started making Street kind of. NFL2K series was HARD. The only games I was good at was the Blitz series (which is pretty random anyways...you don't even need to know how to play football to win http://cyragl.s5.com/images/damn.jpg for the most part anyways...) and NFL Street. I'm not a big fan of football but I'm surrounded by people who love football so..

I'm a big gamer, and I just want to know what other EV fans like in their games.
I'm the BIGGEST Zelda junckey, but I love FF and just about every other video game in the world.
Zelda's cool :p but I like The Legend of Mana the best :p RPG's are the best like Resident Evil 2,Parasite Eve 1 & 2 and this other RPG I got into Fatel Frame its pretty cool :p But Fighting games will alway be my favorite :p Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 4 are awesome fighting games and Soul Caliber is cool. But Dead or Alive is the best fighting game EVER!! :p

The game series that own me are as follows:
-Resident Evil
-Final Fantasy
-Silent Hill (scares the shit outta me...)
And in my childhood the Mario, Zelda and Megaman series, but not so much now. I still play them, but they are in no way as addictive as the other three :D

the spikey blue one (sonic) holds fond memories, but now days my favourite games are multiplayer ones. Especially fond of ailens vs predator 2, unreal 2004 and jedi knight 3 (gotta love those sabre duels). But do like single player games too my favourite there probably being either the legacy of kain series or gta

Um, I used to like final fantasy, since I own every FF game (except 3 on the NES)...but it got old. x_x
Im a big horror junkie, i guess.
I own each Resident Evil for PS, PS2, and Gamecube.
I also love Fatal Frame 1 and 2, and the Silent Hill series!
I just think horror games like that have such a complex line and its very in depth and stuff. Especially like CLocktower 3.
[Edit] And why isnt Resident Evil on the poll as a choice? =| Id say its a bigger franchise (or was) than FF. And RE is really making a name for itself, too. I think RPGs get old after a while.

I guess this fits in the right topic somewhat..after all, these are video games series...
Anyone seen that befo? I know they sell it at Best Buy for $30. You plug it into your Tv and you use 4 AA batteries..and you can play Pac-Man, Dig-Dug, Galaxian, Rally-X, and ...Bosconian? Mega Man :D
I haven't played Mega Man in a few years. I remember it on the NES but didn't really play it much then..but it's always been a favorite of mine's. Especially the ones with more cartoony graphics.
The Mega Man Anniversary Collection (a collection of Mega Man 1 - 8 plus 2 unlockable never released in the US befo games and an interview or something...) comes out today but was delayed until tomorrow  what I find hilarious is people on message boards will complain like they are dying due to a one day delay. "My car broke down and I can't go to the store, NOOO!!!" "Must...get...game...today!" Shit is hilarious and sad. But for some reason always, I found out about games at the last possible minute (I found out this game was coming out today....today...at like 6 am) and go searching for them in stores, and they're usually delayed. Blah I never buy video games but the times I do rarely are when they're delayed and I find out about them on like the day they come out  but anyways, Mega Man was a really fun series. I read in a review they did a good uh...well it plays like the older games real good.
I'm still curious whether the PS2 or Gamecube version is better as both have their differences plus control is different but I'm still thinking of getting the Gamecube version cause I have a wireless controller for it and don't got one for the PS2. Anyways, that's another series of mine's that's a favorite :D

Also, LoZ has always been a favorite, even went out and bought a copy of the collection disc.
Also, these screens of the new Gamecube version, tentatively titled, The Legend of Zelda are very "holy shit!" worthy.

But KING OF FIGHTERS! I got that '99 version. That shit was fun.
But what was even better was Rival Schools...too bad they didn't make it a series. Rival Schools is one of my favorite fighting games...and Street Fighter III I got and it was alright. I sucked at it tho T_T

If anyone is interested in the Mega Man Anniversary Collection...it's pretty fun. Just got it a few hours ago.
It's hard as hell tho..I didn't think Mega Man would be that hard (never really played it much). I had no trouble with Mega Man 8 (somewhat)..I just got frustrated that I can't get past the spikes when I'm in the bubble. That's how I always die. But yea, I was like, "Hey! I remember this part of the game." Even tho it's just a few years old, it's still nice to play it again.
Games today are a hell of a lot easier T_T I'm thinking about trying the Lord of the Rings series. I don't know anything about the series itself when it comes to the books and movies (all I know is there's a dude named Gandolf and Aragon, and he looks like HHH :D..there's a ring and this green monster dude?) but I know those types of games are fun from my experiences.
But yea anyways, the Mega Man series in the MMAC was done pretty good. The PS2 version is better I think, it's just weird on the Gamecube controller (I just tested it by holding the controller and pressing the buttons  already know the button configuration thing)..the only downside is you can't choose your own controls on the Gamecube. That's it majorly..

HAHHA! We used a cheat book from start to finish and so missed a lot of game play along the way. We're (my sisters and I) all at the very end of FFVII, all we have to do is beat Sephiroth, and we're done. HAHA, yes, we suck. How old is that game? Umm....guys, i'm sort of confused. The name "video game" reffers to those console thingys like playstation? Or do computer games also fall under this cathegory? :) By the way, which ones do you think are better, computer games or console games? I...umm...hope they're called that way...anyways, I'm sure you know what I mean. I've only played computer games and that's because I don't have a console, but I'd have to say that the latter seems like a far better...:) gaming experience. For starters you don't have to deal with annoying hardware requirements. But then again, I thing consoles are limited to shoot'em up's or jump'n runs :) and things like that...I mean I don't see how you could play a strategy game like Warcraft on a console.
Sorry if this is off-topic but it seemed like the right place to ask. :)
Cyra

Videos games is video games and computer games is computer games. Completely different =P (yet I'm aware that I call computer games video games haha)
Computer games fall under the category of playing a game on a computer...and video games under consoles like, yes, the Playstation.
Personally I like console games better. Computer game system requirements get higher and higher each year and you need to upgrade to play sometimes. While with consoles you can usually play for about 3 years befo you might want to buy the new consoles.
Yea if you like them games like Warcraft and online RPGs then you better off playing them games on the computer. Cause it's a lot easier with the mouse and typing.
I mostly play sports games and action games so I stick with my PS2 and Gamecube =P

This ain't a series, but anyone remember this gamE?
It came out a few years ago, and it's hard to find, both rental wise and for purchasing (unless you go online probably). I'm about to go out to a few stores and see if they have it. Glad I live right by 3 Electronic Botique's and a Gamestop
http://kyosaiki.online.fr/images/jcs02.jpg
The game was like that in the picture above. Mainly side-scrolling but it was some fun shit. It gets boring after awhile, but befo it does, it's a blast playing it. It was hilarious too!
Hopefully I'll be able to find it...me and a friend rented it a few years ago back when he had a Playstation. Shit was fun.
I actually just went around to an EB Games and a Gamespot befo I found it. $12.99 used with no case (dude gave me a Gamestop case :D...with a label for Namco Museum 64...how do you put an N64 game in a CD case? )..it's $5.99 on ebgames.com but I don't feel like waiting for shipping and shit  plus S&H...but anyways, I'm quite overjoyed I found it and am about to go spend the last hour or two befo I have to leave for work playing it :D
