Okay, lets here it. Who's your favourite sportsperson, and what sport do they play?
My favourite sports person is Lindsay Davenport, who plays tennis. Obviously you all know that, hehe.:p
Can't wait til she returns to competition.;)

I like tennis but I don't watch it when ladies play , otherwise my gf would beat the crap out of me , becuase I never zip it when I watch these half naked freaking hot girls playing and sweatting  . Anyway , my favorite player is Cesc Fabregas , he plays in Arsenal which is a football team in London , there's also Kobe Bryant , Tom Brady for sure .

I should add JuJu (Justine Henin) to my list also. And that guy who whips off his shirt whenever he wins his tennis matches...

No idea if that is him but I haven't seen him play for ages.
I would not say Federer because he is too stuck up for his own good

I really liked Jeff Suppan when he played for the St. Louis Cardinals. But he went to a different team. Makes me mad
He plays baseball for those of you who dont watch it.

I love Ryan Smith...is was traded to New York, but use to be
one of the Edmonton Oilers.
Nothing has been the same, without his pro, and all his skills.
I have a signed jersey of his, when he use to be here, but then moved
on to the Big Apple.
I also have a signed hockey stick, and his pic.

In what way? I think he is a gentlemen, he never carries on on court or questions decisions made by the umpire. I think he is the epitome of sportsmanship.

He comes on court thinking he will win. He is arogant in that he expects to win because he is so good. I do not like that about him.

He comes on court thinking he will win.
So he should come on the court before a match thinking he will lose?
Yea, that makes sense.
Dude was #1 for like 2 or 3 years straight. Of course he has confidence he can win every times he steps out. From what I've seen he's been nothing but class. Do you have any examples to back up your claims, or is it just another one of your classic "that's what I think because it's what I think and I don't have any evidence supporting it" things?
Every athlete should go out to their match/game thinking they will win. Only losers think the other way around.

I didn't mean it like that. If you actually watch him walk out on the court, he has this cocky look about him, this 'I'm the best and I'm gonna win' look. It's fine to come on court HOPING to win, but not to come out and look like you simply ASSUME you will win.
If you haven't seen him look like this then you obviously haven't seen him play.

In the words of Pete Rose (roughly), "Every time I step up to the plate, I expect to get a hit. If I don't expect to get a hit, I have no right to even step in the batter's box. If I go up hoping to get a hit, then I probably don't have a chance of getting a hit. It is expectation that got me all the hits in the first place."
I think any player of any sport expects to win. Sometimes confidence is everything.

Aha. HAHAHA. Okay, so I'm sure everyone here is going to roll their eyes at me, but I couldn't pass this thread up.
Michael Phelps. Because he kicked ass in Athens, and then proceeded to kick even more ass in Beijing. And because he's a crazy sexy man-beast.
And because he has a street named after him in Baltimore, lol.

Whatever. I completely disagree with you. Federer is widely regarded as one of the classiest players in the sport. How you see it totally opposite is beyond me.
And don't assume things. Don't you know what that makes you look like? I've seen him play multiple times. I know what I'm talking about.
That is the last I'll say on that.
My favorite athletes:
Joe Montana(football)
Joe Thornton(hockey)
Will "The Thrill" Clark(baseball
My favorite athlete of all time is definitely Joe Montana.
One of my current favorite football players is Aaron Rodgers - many seemed to be pissed at him solely for taking the sacred Favre's place and claimed he could never live up to him (well, naturally, he's just NOW getting a chance to officially play), but honestly, he's a really good quarterback. Especially since he's just starting out. Plus he's hawt and I like to look at him. XD
