Hello, people of EvBoard - I hope this new day finds you well and safe.

I may be a little old-fashioned, but I find it bit weird to "introduce myself" to a bunch of people I have never met, and with all propability, never will. Nevertheless, live and let live, so I'm willing to try it out...

It's a bit weird for me to join a board dedicated to Evanescence, since I'm not a huge fan. Well, I'm slightly a fan, I have "Fallen" and all. But my favourite music are the likes of Massive Attack, Joy Division, New Order, Portishead and such. But I like Evanescence, too - they're just not my all-time favourite band.

So, how did I end up joining you guys? Well, a friend of mine (who is an Evanescence-fan, may he rot in the lowest and darkest regions of Hell!), recommended EvBoard to me. He said to me, that even if I'm not the biggest Amy Lee-fan, I might find this board interesting. Since I am sort of an Amy Lee fan, of her singing voice anyway, and since I find some of their material to be quite good, I decided to cruise the EvBoard, just for try.

I did some recon on this board, and found out some above-average, and higher, conversation. So, I decided, what the hell - I'll register, try it out for a while, and if I don't like it, so what?

Of course, I'm sure I will like it. I wouldn't have bothered otherwise. And besides, if I end up breaking up with you guys, I can assure you that the blame lies entirely on you - I'm a genious, you're not, it propably won't come as a surprise if we can't find a mutual understanding.

Without further delay: Here's hoping for a long time of trolling, badmouthing and childish behaviour!

Hi, Drone! Welcome to the Evboard! I'm Katya and I'll be your guide.

First, I'm going to answer some questions that I bet you haven't even thought of yet. One thing EVERYONE asks about is the Moderation Queue (http://www.evboard.com/faq.php?faq=evboard_qa#faq_mod_queue). You're put in there because you're new, but don't worry - with good posting, you'll be let out of there soon (except when you post in the Advice forum. The Advice forum is moderated for everyone except mods). The green dots under your name are Reputation Points (http://www.evboard.com/faq.php?faq=evboard_qa#faq_rep_dots); here is a small guide (http://www.evboard.com/showthread.php?t=24655) for using them.

Other random things you should know about: The color red can only be used by moderators and ToB (http://www.evboard.com/showgroups.php?) (Admin Extraordinaire). Choose a different color when you post. Be respectful to the mods; they're volunteers, and they're doing their job. If you have a concern or a question about a decision they made, PM them. Also be respectful to the band members, who do post here (that's practically a given, but we've had some people who neglect that, and that's no fun for anyone).

Also try and use as much English as you can, and not AIM-speak. It gets annoying for many of us, and it's hard for the people who don't speak it as a first language to read stuf speld rong lyk dis.

One of the most important tools of the board is the Search function, located in the upper right of each screen, in the toolbar that contains the User CP link. PLEASE use it before you post a new thread.

Read the FAQ (http://www.evboard.com/faq.php?faq=evboard_faq_#faq_gen_rules); it's really informative, I promise ;) If it's a bit much all at once, read a few sections at a time.

It's cool that you're not a die-hard fan. You balance out the creepy stalker fans, and that's always a good thing. :D
