I thought that there'd been a thread on them, but since there isn't, it's going to start with bad news.
Brett Scallions, lead singer, has left the group.

I've never heard of them, but that's sad that he left.

I think that just ruined my life for a second.

yea, brett left in like august of last year. it's pretty much beenknown i think for quite some time through fuel's fan base that he's been gone. they were a good band, but that last album, Natural Selection, was not there best work. Plus when the drummer left i think early last year and let the cat out of the bag about what a sick control freak carl was and how brett couldn't sing for shit live and used tape ALOT live, that kinda didn't make things very good for the remaining bands either. It's too bad, they were a great band. They are living breathing proof of how hard work and working together as a team with real determination can really make it in the music business as they strove since like '93 to get to where they were.

Wow i didn't know he had left.
I'm not a HUGE fan of Fuel, anyway... but I really enjoy their songs.
It's an amazing group.
Too bad that the vocal is gone. :(

..and here is what has become of Brett Scallions...
(February 2, 2006) — Seven years after he left Rochester for good, leaving behind a cover band called the Shag, and after countless gigs as a "mercenary" drummer, Mike Maenza returns to his hometown with a real band: The X's play Friday at Steel Music Hall.
A real band with a real rock star. Brett Scallions, former lead singer of the metal band Fuel, plays bass in this one.
"It does me good to be in his company," says Maenza. "He was the singer for a band that sold 6 million records, but didn't feel artistically challenged."
Maenza defines the X's music as "harder edged, kind of Velvet Revolver meets Green Day." We'll go with his description because the X's won't be releasing any music until Scallions frees himself from Fuel's label.
Maenza can wait a little longer. Born in East Rochester, hanging at the House of Guitars, studying percussion at Hochstein, he first left town at 21, joining a Florida cover band that toured for seven years, playing other people's music.
"I moved back to Rochester when Hard Rain was on the verge of getting a deal," Maenza says. That was the early '90s. "A lot of cool bands were playing original music. But then the city seemed to shut down, and cover bands were ruling."
Nevertheless, "It's a great city for musicians," Maenza insists. "Three have been some really great players, inspirational players — Lou Gramm and Steve Gadd — to look up to. And on a different side of the fence, Chuck Mangione."
Maenza never planned to fall in love in New York City, but he did; never saw Scallions coming, but suddenly, there was the X's. It only took 37 years.
"I was in one of the worst punk bands I ever played with in my life," he says. "But the guy was paying me $150 a gig. It's either that or waiter in a restaurant. I'd rather beat on drums than serve steaks."
Pic in that link is pretty cool. Looks like it was taken at CBGB :)

That talk really started from the time he performed Hemorrhage on AI.
The talk though is at a fever pitch ever since he got kicked off.
Chris had originally turned the deal down, but he may have been putting it off because at one point in the show, he was considered the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing. Now by many on the board, he's considered the uncrowned Idol.

I think he also wants to make it with his own band.

I saw Fuel live twice back in 2001, they kicked ass both times!!
It's such a shame Brett left...I really loved his voice. But these things just happen.:(
I read somewhere that the rest of the band had the new album finnished and all they had to do was get a vocalist and do the vocals.
Anyway, I wish all the best to the remaining band members of Fuel and best of luck to Brett too!:)

In regards to Chris Daughtry joining Fuel:
It's looking like Chris Daughtry isn't going to accept the rock band Fuel's offer to become their new lead singer.
It looks like Chris might be going solo then. I kind of hoped he would be in an actual band. Maybe he'll stick to the band he started with.

Actually, if you go onto Google and type in "Chris Daughtry, Fuel" you can find all kinds of different news articles about what's going on. In the link I posted above, the article talks about Fuel not expecting him to give them a "yes," and also tells about how he belings to American Idol for "three months after the show's grand finale." It also says they've started to look for other options. It seems they wanted to get themselves kickstarted again with Chris as their singer, but they don't want to wait around for him. And I can see why, considering he has to devote three months to idol. It's probably better for them to not wait, as opposed to waiting three months to get an answer and then having him turn them down. Either way, I'd absolutely love to hear Fuel put out music again, Chris-fronted or not.

The only thing I heard from Fuel is a song Quarter but it's one of the best songs I ever heard. I'm listening to it right now. Can anyone recommend any other of their songs that sounds like Quarter??

Now former Something to Burn frontman Toryn Green will be the new lead singer of Fuel.
You can listen to the couple of tracks they did have here:
