I was just going to post this. They used an instrumental version, from the beginning all the way through the end of the first chorus. And at the part where if Amy was singing, it would've been "I'M GO-OING UNDER!" I think they showed a guy being thrown in the air or something. Sorry if I'm a little confused, but I just woke up and heard it.

haha that is great. im talking ot my mom like "how can you sit here and watch this for hours. i mean they are great athlets and everything but its so boring" so i go down into my room to do pretty much nothing on the computer and then they go and play going under... -.-

and i bet you my parents didnt even recognize the song even though i dont shut up about ev and they know the song from the grid commerials ... haha well at least the people in charge of hte montage have good taste in music :)

Yeah, I was arguing with my brothers about what song it was (they thought it was Linkin Park....ironic), but I thought those first guitar chords sounded awfully familiar. I freaked out when the song was over, it was so cool. I've never heard instrumental Going Under before...also, I wonder if (or how much) they're getting paid. I mean, people pay millions for commercial time on the Olympics. It's pretty awesome.

They'll probably show it again later. They always do........hopefully. Anyhoo, I've got my vcr ready. :D

They were showing a thingy of Chinese culture, or something like that, and the GU instrumental was playing in the background... it was kool... wierd, but kool :)

I just saw the montage on NBC, it's the instrumental version of Going Under from the UK single DVD. Probably the same one Cfw was talking about; I saw it on KHQ (the NBC affiliate in Spokane, WA).

The minute the montage started I *knew* there'd be a post about it here.

Grrr. I missed it. :( I've been watching the Olympics since it began on Friday night. How could I miss it??

Unless they play the Chinese mens' gymnastics montage again I doubt Going Under will be played again, the video was edited perfectly with the song (the sensitive and sad part coincided with the piano part, the part where the Chinese kicked ass coincided with the chorus, and the zoom-out at the very end went at the exact rhythm of the main riff.)

Oh, and after last night the Chinese were 4th with Japan 1st and US 2nd.

Did anyone else see that Russian guy dislocate his finger on the parallel bars? Ouch!! :eek: I think it was the only part of the Russian gymnasts' preformance they showed last night too!

I remember when they played it one last time on NBC (when ABC got the rights to NBA coverage for the following year) it almost equalled My Immortal because of all the positive memories it brought back for me :( :D
