Hey guys,
Just wondering if "Broken" has actually been released as a single yet? I know it was supposed to be out around the 20th of July but none of the record stores I've been to a home or near my Uni have stocked it yet Amazon.co.uk says it was released on the 19th. Obviously if it has been released it didn't chart which isn't particularly good news. Also was the video added to The Box? I've only seen it on Scuzz and Kerrang.

honestly!! thats krap!! by the time its not gunna be popular. it probebly wont sell as much. its doin really good on the kerrang! channel.

Yeah, Ive read in various articles the songs release has been pushed back as far as 30th August, but then I dont think its too surprising since The Punisher will be released only a few weeks before. I guess they want the added boost of the movie too.

Thanks guys, just got really confused because Amazon says you can actually order it and it's not a pre-order so as far as they are concerned it's released. I hope it has been pushed back, don't want to see it completely fail.
I just checked hardplace.net/seether and they've put up a story about the Broken release listing it as August 30th so it's definitely official!

I checked out the HMV website last week and it listed one of the two versions of the Broken single as "deleted" so I wasn't too surprised when it didn't appear in any record stores yesterday I think we're either looking at it being completely removed from release or possibly pushed back another month to lineup with The Punisher which, if anybody is interested, is actually going to be released over here on September 24th.
Unfortunately I wouldn't hold my breath for actually getting a single release now though :(

I was really confused about when it was being released because i couldnt find it anywhere. So today i asked this guy in HMV who told me that it had been released on August 16th!? :confused: But everywhere i look (including a HMV leaflet) it said that Broken was going to be released yesterday!
So anyway this guy said that the only way to get it now is to order it through them for £4.99.

The problem is the video has been around on channels like Kerrang and Scuzz for quite a while now without there being an actual single for anybody to buy. If Wind-Up were to release it now only those people who've heard it and really really liked it and us hardcore fans are going to buy it. The songs popularity has passed it's peak and that's by-no-means a comment on the quality of the song because I love it.
It's just that the video was put out there to bring up interest in the song amongst people other than internet fans who would already know it well so that other people will buy it and make it do well in the charts but considering how fickle chart music is over here these days all the kids who buy singles regularly won't be too bothered anymore because they'll be so used to the song and less deman = less chance of an actual single release.

That's just my opinion though, I could (and likely am) wrong!

its likely that your correct. looking at it from a sales point of view its very unlikely it will sell well now due to it loosing its popularity. dont get me wrong its a great song, but i say the same reason as above. if a fan really wants the song that bad. they can always go and support seether and buy there 'disclaimer' album ;)

Yesterday I looked everywhere for it and as like everone else, couldn't find it. Looked on the HMV website this morning and it's saying now the release date is the 20th September. :(

If you want the song so badly buy the seether album. There album is fantastic. I love seether they are good, its worth getting the full album. :)

I got the Seether album to see what all the fuss was about. There's about 3 good songs and the rest are kinda samey and Shauns twangy accent kinda gets irritating. Amy seems happy with him though and she deserves to be happy.

i really like seether without amy!!! i think broken isn't their best song on it's own but it's soooo much better with amy on it! not only has she added her beeeautiful voice but she put a little of her own style in it with the strings and stuf! if you compare it with the version from the disclaimer 1 album it's improved soi much! but i dont really see it as a seether song.... it just seems like an amy and shaun song whereas the rest of the album is "the band". i can see why people just say they're poor man's nirvana but i think it's never gonna be good when someone is compared to nirvana! it's hard to be insrpired by a band without sounding a bit like them! i wasn't around for the nirvana hype.. well i was but i was too young really... so it doesn't really bother me! seether have talent and i love their music!

I really like "sympathetic" and "fine again" they are the songs that do it for me! I wish I remember what songs they perfomed at the concert all I know is was they were pretty good! lol *bad memory*

Funny you should say that. Why? Because I'm holding a copy of it in my hand right now. I bought it in HMV on Tuesday (28th). It's been out in the shops since Monday (27th). Cost £3.99. It's got Broken w/ Amy, 69 Tea, a live cover of Something In The Way (by Nirvana) and Out Of My Way as B-sides. It also has a DVD-quality music video of broken that automatically comes on full-screen when you put the CD into your PC. IT's really cool to finally see the video on full screen and still at amazing quality.

Guys here's a tip, in future if you know, or even think, a single is gonna come out, go into HMV (other stores may do this but I'm not sure), and simply ask them, do they know what {name of single} is coming out, and whatever they say, ask them to hold a copy back for you. Then when they do get it in, they'll phone you up and tell you. I got the phone call at just before midday on Monday but I didn't pick it up so they just left a message on my phone, I found it too late to get it on Monday but I went down first thing Tuesday morning and they had held back a copy for me - all their other copies had been sold on Monday.

So yeah, Broken IS out, and it's been out all this week.

Go! Buy it ASAP! If everyone buys it now it may still get into the chart. Just run down to HMV in the morning or MVC or Fopp or where ever you buy your CDs from and get it, let's get some decent msuic in the charts yeah?

If it wasn't released then just how in the blue holy hell am I STILL holding a copy of it? The cover is blue if you want to know. The CD itself is gray with some orange-y text on it for a few small parts. On the picture on the inside Shaun is wearing massive sun glasses, he looks like a bug. Shaun is credited as 'S. Welgemoed' throughout the entire single too btw. Anyway, it IS definatly out. My sister looked for it in all the London HMV' and none of them had it thouh she says when she asked they said they were 'expecting it sometime soon', though the one here defiantly has it (or at least HAD it, I know they didn't get many copies in and they all sold pretty quick), and I know the HMV in Bristol has it in too 'cause a mate of mine bought it in there. So it is 100% definatly released, just maybe not all stores bothered getting it in...

Meh, not much point you guys now anyway... if you want the B-sides then go get it, but otherwise I wouldn't bother, if people buy it now the sales are too devided to get it into the charts now so it's not like it'd get it in the top20 or whatever. Shame. As it should have been released for a few months now and a few websites have cover art it's a safe bet that the CD's were printed up and a few batches were possibly sent out to shops.
Could be that some of them got bored of holding on to the stock as the official release date is/was all over the shop they probably came to the conclusion it will never officially come out and started to sell off copies knowing that there would still be some demand for it.
Atleast that way the record company recoup some of the money they made in printing up the CD's.

Well i think it may only be available over here on import...i can't be certain on that though...but i could only get it on import, and i know it won't contribute to the charts etc. but if i see a UK one i will probably buy it aswell, to contribute to the sales/chart...lol

yeah. the only reason i buy single is for the extra tracks and the video. i've already downloaded the video, and i'm not a big seether fan anyway. so there not much point.

The only singles I'm fussed about are Evanescence, Nightwish and Bowling for soup. I get them because a) i want them 2) they have extra stuff on and c)... i cant think of a c... but a and b are good enough

I get Evanescence singles but thats about it usually unless say a band i like releases a single that will only be a single and not on an album but that is rare

I actually got the single, I killed two birds with one shot. I ordered EF & Broken & I saved some money on the shipping ^^

Uhm, obviously the Broken one contains Seether songs & the video but I actually liked it.

I managed to get Broken the other day in HMV, there was only one there and it's an import (which is better, cause it has more songs) but I've been looking for it for absolutely ages so... :D

Thats exactly what mine is YAY!!!!! Its was damn expensive for a single though!!!
