any hints as i have just found a photo shop program arcsoft photostudio. i was fiddling before but i am unsure really how to set the colour across etc.

River - there is something called a Gradiant tool. You pick the two colours you want and then click on the tool and draw a line across the picture. You can choose how dark it is etc.
