I need help from someone who knows some stuff about WMM2 (or any video editor for that matter).
Basically, whenever I import any song into it, this weird annoying noise gets added in over it and I can't figure out why it's happening or how to stop it...
Can anybody help me please?

I made a sound clip example so you can see what I mean - Right click and choose 'Save Target As...' to download please.

PS. The fact that I used an Ev song for the example is just coincidence. I made the clip for someone else originally.

I always have problems with it, but they usually seem to sort themselves out. This one is just being a bugger though

I tried importing a WAV file and it seemed to work fine. What format are you trying to import?

I would really suggest ONLY importing WAV files (in the event you are trying something else) as anything else is going to face decompression and codec issues.

Sometimes if you the encoder, it will change the format to an original windows media movie and you will be able to edit it freely. You should be able to find the encoder here if you have XP.

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder

Try that and see if it works.

Edit: Any luck?

speaking of wmm2. i've been using it just fine but until recently it's been crashing a lot lately. anynoe else having these problems too while using it? i probably just need to reinstall it or something. also does anyone know of any good free video editors besides wmm that i can download? and are there any cheap ones for sale that are ok? i looking for something with more functionality than wmm but i don't want anthing too complicated like adobe photoshop. i know of a couple but i don't want to shell out $100+ clams for them.

Ahhhh sorry LoveSovereign. I did eventually get the problem sorted out (a while ago now lol). It had something to do with file formats. But thanks for the advice anyways :)

Jux, WMM2 always has problems with everybody. Sometimes you can do things to help, but a lot of the time there will be some kind of problem.
You can try looking around this site to see if you can find anything helpful:

Although WMM2 does have a lot of problems, I think it's actually a really good program. It seems that Adobe Premiere is probably the best video editor that you can get, but it was wayyyy to complicated for me.
WMM2 is very simple to use, and you can do a lot with it...

Maybe your disk space is too low..? Do you have the upgraded version? I had trouble with Windows Movie Maker before, and when I upgraded, it fixed my problem.
But this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lC-QVpzJzGQ) guy seems to know a lot about Windows Movie Maker. He might be able to help.
