In the end Mods may give Lurkers a 'second' chance at Evboard.Red dots mean you have a net negative reputation which is very bad. Personally, if the mods were different from the ones we have now, the character of this place would be lost. You need mods who are understanding always and patient. But you also need the mods and admins who will take it for so long. Without that control, we'd have tons more threads with the "LyKe ZomGs!! I ToTalLy HeARt AMy!!" And it'd cause more havoc than anything else and you'd just get people going "Oh, sorry, I didn't know even though it's clearly stated in the rules page that I never bothered to read..." And besides, no one told any of us to come here and join or die for not doing so. Don't like the ones in charge? Leave. Or as Dhamma said earlier in the thread, contact a mod and talk it over civilly.

I didn't know evboard as long as a year ago, so I can't comment on how it may have changed, but I can say for sure that I appreciate the place it is now...to be honest I think being on evboard has actually helped me to grow up a little.

Sure maybe some people do overreact when a noob makes a mistake, but all you have to do is read the faqs/rules and learn to be a bit diplomatic and you'll get along fine.

At the end of the day, this is evboard, the rules are what they are and nobody but ToB and the mods really has a right to decide them - it's their forum. If you don't like it, go elsewhere.

Maybe people should have to tick a box saying they've read and agree to the rules when they sign up - then they've got no excuse...(of course that may already be the case, I have the memory of a goldfish)

What we're asking every new person to do is to read the rules and follow them, it's not hard. If it is, then it's a wrong board for you.

If anyone of you has any problems, don't keep them and create such petitions later. You have PM's, Pager messages also, use them, talk to Mods, Welcoming Committee members if you want, talk directly to a person you have your problem with and try to solve it. And don't be afraid to ask for help.

I only joined last month, an I'm perfectly happy here (which i suppose is why i'm on all the time...I'm just taking time off from life, that's all :p). The mods have always been nice to me, even when i felt like i was being annoying myself. i've never really had a problem. i admit, i read something by machinehead that scared me once when i first started, but i was just stupid and i didn't know any better. As long as you can read the rules, respect people, and are able to communicate with other human beings in a non-idiotic way, then you're set. I actually saw the petition before I saw this thread, and I was curious as to what would happen when the mods saw it. I'm happy that no one seems too offended by it, especially since it's so pathetic that it really isn't worth getting too upset about. I could say more, but it's really already been said, hasn't it?

The mods do a really good job, in my opinion. And i really like Scratchy's avatar. It makes me giggle.
