So has anyone been/is going to any dates of HIM's recent tour?

I'm going to be going on monday and I'm really looking forward to it but I was wondering if anyone who has already been or is going?

Last night was awesome. We were worried at first when we were queuing to get in that we wouldn't because we're all under 16 and there's no adult with us but we were fine so woo! When we got in we ended up standing right next to the mosh pit and so we kept having random people thrown right into us and the guy in the wheelchair ran over my foot! The whole set was brilliant and I used up my whole camera film and as I took the last photo some really tall guy offered to lift me up so I could get a good photo of Ville. Yeah, that annoyed me but it was one hell of a night!

I saw them on the first half of the tour on January 30th in Manchester. It was such a great gig... the crown were excellent and the atmosphere amazing.

While HIM did play amazingly well and Ville did sing his heart out, I couldn't help but think that he was absolutely worn out. He did say that he had been ill.... but he looked mental and phsyically drained.

Can't wait to see them again.... hopefully it'll be at The Download festival with A Perfect Circle, Linkin Park & Metallica.

I'm thinking of getting tickets to the cardif gig. Rumor going round on the seether thread is that seether are one of the supports is it true or is it a little white lie????????? lol :)

Alesurya
07-04-2004, 01:09 PM
*Is also going to 31st Oct Hammersmith gig*

We went through a lot to get those tickets... as in 9am at school, surfing through all the ticket sites to see if they took paypal, which they didn't... but it all got sorted in the end.

I've not seen it officially confirmed that Seether are supporting HIM but APPARENTLY Shaun told someone at a gig and then they went and posted it on the seether boards.

If they are though... 2nd time seeing HIM, 2nd time seeing Seether. Although I definately know who I'll enjoy more... *coughseethercough*

Emi

Seether arn't suporting now

(This does unfortunately mean that there won't be any touring with HIM this year, I'm afraid! Sorry! We need to finish the album

Dark Star
07-06-2004, 04:20 PM
oh ok emi thanks for letting us know! we'd be lost without that!!!!!

uea is uni of east anglia! it's an ok uni. my mate went there for a week 2 years ago for a summer school. she said it was fun! i'd rather go further away...hehehe!

i went to uel for a week....uni of east london. it was fun but i dont really like the uni! it was good to see what uni is like tho!

they have a lot of gigs at uea and the waterfront! it's good but ive never been!

susurrus
07-06-2004, 04:43 PM
it's farther away... that cd's incorrectly titled ;) you should know that from the bleed title.

uel? east london at a guess? i'm surprised him will be at uea... i can't really remember what was there, well some lecture room with seating going quite far back, that's about it!

Dark Star
07-06-2004, 05:05 PM
they've got a big hall somewhere on campus! i've been in there when we went for a uni convention! it's quite big!

ShadowOnMySoul

I'm going to both the Leeds Uni gig and the Hammersmith one. I can't wait. I went to see them in January at Rock City and I was also lucky enough to go to the metal hammer awards to see them too. They rocked both times. Best band ever. I'm very glad that Seether aren't supporting them.

Dark Star

susurrus
07-08-2004, 04:34 PM

07-08-2004, 05:03 PM
I didn't like them! sorry guys! But to be honest I don't care who supports as long as I see HIM!

susurrus
07-08-2004, 05:10 PM
doesn't matter :) we all have different tastes... but ofc we all like (love) ev :D

i'm sure you'll enjoy it anyway... as long as no support bands aren't to your taste... like that glitterati bunch ;)

Dark Star
07-09-2004, 02:31 PM
fair enough! if you dont like them you dont like them! thats all there is to it! im sure there's people out there who like the glitterati (somewhere far out there!) but personally i think they're a pile of poo!

Alesurya
07-10-2004, 08:12 AM
y'anno, this might sound dumb but I'm not even looking forward to seeing HIM anymore. :( I do really like HIM but seether...... no seether.... poo. I guess I was looking forward to seeing Seether again a lot more than I thought. I'm still going though. And I'm going to wear a seether t-shirt just because I am.

Oh well they did say if they got any good offers after they've done the album they'll take 'em so fingers crossed....

Dark Star
07-11-2004, 04:51 AM
why dont you sell you're ticket? you'd get quite a bit for it now!

Alesurya
07-11-2004, 05:17 PM
Nah, I'll still want to go eventually.

I love going to gigs... but I was so excited because I like Seether more than HIM and well... as I said in my last post, knowing their not playing now is disappointing.

Still, come 31st Oct, I'll still be there, probably wearing a Seether t-shirt in hope...

ShadowOnMySoul
07-12-2004, 06:47 AM

Heartache Every Moment, that is just so awesome live. Gotta agree with you on them playing Soul on Fire, it just turns into a big mosh pit, tis awesome! Join Me In Death is always great too.
But i've heard them all live, soooo i'd love them to play: Beautiful, Razorblade Kiss or When Love and Death Embrace. 3 Songs that would just be pretty great live.

OMG last nights show was simply incredable. the best gig i ve been to fact. my favourite moment has to be when valo put on a jack skeleton mask and sang beyond redeption. then in the middle they stopped and added the halloween feam to it. so incredable.

the set list was (not all in order)

-soul on fire
-sweet 666
-funeral of hearts
-wicked game
-the sacrement
-poision girl
-join me in death
-beyond redemption
-fortress of tears
-solitary man
-and love said no
-right here in my arms
-burried alive by love

Emi

HIM were good. Esoterica were good. Cathedral were utter shit.

To be honest, I don't think HIM are suited to a larger venue like hammersmith. Walking from front to back of stage may be okay somewhere small like astoria but when there's a huge stage you've got to use it. So yeah, that's my little complaint about the show, that and the whole standing up for 8+ hours straight.

It was pretty cool though, the whole halloween thing made me enjoy it more.

HIM were good. Esoterica were good. Cathedral good but grannies

To be honest, I don't think HIM are suited to a larger venue like Cheese. Walking from front to back of Cheese may be okay somewhere small like Cheese but when there's a huge Cheese you've got to use it. So yeah, that's my little EGG about the Cheese, that and the whole Egg up for 8+ Cheese straight.

It was pretty cool though, the whole Cheese thing made me EGG it more.
Dude thats not kool, i dont like it wen your rude to support bands... there there for a reason. Having your opinion on them is ok tho... i just think that is a bit harsh. Tho their not my type of music (or many of the people in the crowds) Cathedral were ok in my opinion and put on a good show. I would never be a fan but some people were just bitchy. The way you said it was obvious who his hero was...ozzy (?)... well you could say its obvious of who the first frontmans hero was... brandon boyd.

Egggg, sick of being a bitch... it was fun tho :)

Wow anyway Him were really good, 9/10, one of the best gigs ive been to in a while... If u didnt go.. you missed out!!! How annoying was the line tho.... im complaining!! wow this is long!!! im amazed! ALLY stop being rude to Him and their big stage.... atleast he wasnt doing twirly wirlys..*ahem*...haha!!! lol!

LOL :D I was standing right on the front barrier on the right infront of Linde. I just have a digicam with extra zoom on it, it seems!!
They're my best pictures, I have a few more but most have too much smoke in them or they're very similar to ones i've posted.
Lmao I didn't mean to take this as he bent over:

LIAR lol

i d never take a digi cam or anything expensive like that to a gig, hence i get stuck with the disposable which produces crappy pictures :(

The show rocked yesterday ... by far the best out of the 3 I saw on this tour and 1 on the previous tour. the band were so up for it last night.... not seen a band have that much crowd interaction in a long time. highlights of the night for me were In Joy And Sorrow (my favourite HIM song) and Solitary Woman :D

Here are the best of my pictures ..... taken from the same place and Emi.... although they are not as good
:p

Emi and I stratigically planned because of live photos on their website to get to the right side of the stage in front of the hot guitarist..... and she ended up playing on the other side. Typical! :)

.... and yeah I think they have a great chance of success. Fans of A Perfect Circle and Tool should definitely give them a listen.

hehehe!

Shadow do you happen to know if the last song that Esoterica played on Sunday (the one with the audience shouting "anyone" in the chorus) is on their EP? I ordered it yesterday! Yippee!

Sorry I'm not taking anything away from HIM with all my ranting, they were awesome to! But I knew they would be :)

argh Emi I'm in love with your pics. The halloween gig was fab. I was stood just under the balcany so I didn't get many good pics. but it was the best HIM gig i've seen so far.

I also went to Leeds, Liverpool & Cambridge and they all rocked. I was front row for Leeds, got some cool pics and I met Ville & Mige in Liverpool which was just a dream come true!

I wish they could tour all the time!

I didn't get there in time to see the 1st support act but I have to say Cathedral suck big time. saw them 3 times now and they got worse every time!
