Im looking forward to it cause it think its gonna kick ass. There was alot of Gay Rights things that took place in the 90's. Plus the music was the coolest then.

Yup Ill be sure watchin it, I loved The 80's one they did and the 70's was alright, I to couldnt relate to any of the stuff they had. I cant wait for this new one

Cyra
06-30-2004, 05:35 AM
I couldn't relate to the '70s stuff much at all, except some of the music. And some of the '80s stuff, yeah. But not as much as the '90s of course.

Can you say recaps of "Why they kill Tupac and Chris?" but it'll be coo to see hip hop evolving in the '90s, to the transitional messages of what's basically played out these days (music wise) of what used to make you "drop it like it's hot" (but it still does! again, music wise)..but everything will be interesting to see, even the N64 haha.

Hopefully I'll just remember to watch this, that's the main problem..

I'm gonna like this. I LOVED the 80s as cheesy and corny as it was. As most here, I didn't really get into the 70s, but it should be fun :)

Oh, I wish we had cable... *cries*

I was listening to a load of old cassettes in my bedroom, I love all that music...everything I listened to in high school. Life in the 90's was generally better. HA! Things were good then...*remembers it wasn't THAT long ago* ;)

A lot of stuff happened in the 90's...

The disintegration of the Soviet Union, Nirvana, the death of Kurt Cobain (very very sad), Bill Clinton's sex scandal which America will not forget, the Maquerina or however you spell it, the Spice Girls, the Simpson's empire (though they've been going on since 1987 with the Shorts), Beanie Babies, the bombing in Oklahoma City (so sad), and on a more happier note, Ev's first show. There's much more that happened in the 90's, ofcourse.

I loved the 80s and the 80s strike back. I think this will be even more fun to watch since the largest chunk of my childhood was in the 90s. I can't wait to see the 90120 stuff. and I'm sorry..I can't remember who said it..about VH1 doing the 90s already..well it's because their target audience were children in the 80s/90s..like most of us on this board.

Morbid Angel

Oh HELL no.

I'm obsessed with these specials. I loved the 80's and 70's, and 80's Strikes Back was awesome.

I'm excited for one reason:

Buffy. The. Vampire. Slayer.

I mean, when they hit '97, they HAVE to say something. At least mention it. You know how I do.

Also, memories. MEMORIES. I'm excited. YAY.

Roselle

I love this. Michael Ian Black, Hal Sparks, and Mo Rocca rule this series with their sarcastic ass comments :D

The funniest comment that I've heard so far is about the Hugh Grant Prostitute Scandal from Craig Ferguson. If you catch that, it's on the 1995 episode.

Azlex
07-15-2004, 03:01 PM
My favorite quote that was on there so far is from 94 when they were talking about Reality Bites and Michael Ian Black said "I wish I was like Ethan Hawke. I am just like Ben Stiller, wait, I'm worse than Ben Stiller because I'm sitting here talking you you assholes. I'm sitting here on V H Fucking 1" I don't see how he doesn't bust out laughing.

I can't wait till they do stuff on the Macarana. I hated that song with a passion, I know they are gonna burn all over it.

Kaydee

I really couldnt pin point out just one. I constantly laughed all the way through. the people they choose to run these shows are hysterical. Oh the memories...

I used to be a Spice- aholic. They ruled the world!! I think I can say more than half the Spice World's script (That's only because it's been 4 and a half years that I don't see the movie).. And Sporty will always be my favorite!!

Oh, and don't forget Dawson's Creek.. I hated that show!!

Friday, they'll probably start from 1990 at like noon or 1.

I just saw the 93 episode (well, I saw half of it yesterday and the other half today :p) and finally got to see my Snoop/Dre part haha.

But the best part of the whole episode?

POWER RANGERS :D

Hahaha I had a crush on Amy Jo Johnson, that pink ranger. How embarassing  but yeah, what was the deal with the black guy being the black ranger and the asian girl being the yellow ranger  and no mexican/hispanic ranger

I loved the toys!! I was actually too broke to buy a real figure so I got this bootleg one HAHA. But the real ones, you pressed a button on their back and an arm or leg went flying forwards or something. In my group of friends there was one rich motherfucker who always got new toys even tho his mom worked at Wal-Mart and was a single mother supporting two children. How he got so many toys we never knew. But anyways, he had like every Power Rangers toy every time a new one came out.

But anyways, the original theme song was the best  I'm going to go try to look for it on Bearshare now or something HAHA..."Go go Power Rangers, Mighty Power Rangers!"

I looved the power rangers. I got to meet Amy Jo Johnson in Boston once and she was at a mall. I was a die hard fan (I was only 5), so I stood in line and I got her autograph and she said I had pretty eyes! I was blushing the whole day. :D

Cyra
07-15-2004, 11:15 PM
I think that was Tommy. He went from the Green ranger to the White ranger or something? or maybe I'm wrong..

I remember they had this one special episode where this video premiered of two girls singing some "Double Trouble" song..ridiculous. But anyways, that episode along with that video was where Kimberly found out who the White ranger really was or something and fainted  that was really corny.

I just watched another episode of it, and they're talking about Tamigotchis. That craze  and they talked about the Macarena song too but I just saw the last few seconds of that part. Forgot what else was on

Whats funny is that I saw the new Power Rangers series on earlier today or yesterday and that bastard just won't leave the show like he can't get any other gig :P I think he is like a mentor to the new Rangers or something.

I heard that Amy Jo Johnson got kicked off of the show cause she was in some pron or something like that.

Cyra
07-16-2004, 12:12 AM
 Really? That's...interesting...if that's why she left the show. She doesn't really look 33 or whatever tho.

That Tommy dude is STILL on that show?! Damn. I haven't watched the show in years (since elementary school) but yeah. At this rate he should be having white hair down to his feet on the show.

The only power rangers I watched was Mighty Morphin and Turbo. After that the seasons totally screwed me up. And I also remember there being two movies that I saw. The original monster that had the purple ooze to control parents (I loved the ninja rangers there!!!) and then the other movie where the kid finds out the blue ranger is in the hospital and the make him into a ranger.

OMG I'm loving this! ahaha...my friend and I were all "dude, you remember that". What I can't believe was that they had Crystal Pepsi! O.O;; I really don't remember that. And HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! I loved Ren and Stimpy.

The power rangers well the first seasons WERE the shit. haha...and that Tommy guy he is a mentorish type of guy for those new rangers. My brother (8) watches them so I hear it next door. Then I get dragged to stay and watch it with him. T_T;; I miss those crappy effects! ROFL..

That first season was really really crappy, but I watched it sometimes. Never watched any of the later ones. Half of the show was an actual japanese show, then the other half (with the american actors) was just a filler thing to give the show a plot.

I'm sure they will be rerunning the episodes tomorrow morning, they have been doing that all week. I just checked and they will be showing reruns starting with 96 tomrrow at 11 central time, then going to 97, then I think they are going to start at 92 and show all of them up to 97 until 8 central time then show 98 and 99.

I feel I should've been presenting on that show. I'm only 14, though I knew everything they were talking about. I like that black girl (no racist offense) she's funny.

I remember that there were imitation PR costumes, and that wasn't good enough for me. So my dad got a costume for me from FL to send to MA to get me the original halloween costume!

I cannot believe they didn't talk about buffy!

Well, you gotta remember, Buffy was a good show, but not that many people watched it in comparison to other things that were on there. Buffy wasn't ever on a big TV channel like FOX, it was just on crappy channels like UPN and WB.

Scott Ian's reaction to Ace of Base...priceless LMAO.

Don't we have enough crappy music here...we have to import it from Sweden? LOL.

No offense to the Swedes, you actually have some good music there.

the sad thing is, like 90% of this board's members are entirely too young to even remember the 90's. :/

i need to actually watch that show in it's entirety. i'm sure it's pretty entertaining overall.

Crap! I have to start visiting completely off topic more often! I forgot about I Love the 90s being on this week. I'm watching 97 right now (I think it's 97, I'm very drunk. at home. on a friday. watching vh1.) I'm sure it will be on non-stop for the next 6 weekends, so I'll catch it periodically.

EDIT: ack! It's 98! I need another beer...lol

Yes. Yes.

I remember the Power Rangers. I used to want Tommy and wanna be Kimberly. PTERODACTYL!

My extreme love for all things PR escalted into my love for Buffy. It a beautiful, beautiful thing.

I haven't been watching it a lot, actually. I'm waiting for Saturday or something where I can watch them all back-to-back and squeal with delight. It will be AWESOME.

no offence.. but... *shudders in a scare thought of watching the power rangers again*

Office Space pwns.

End of discussion.

Little thing of note: I remember the first time I saw the Genie in a Bottle video. It had to be well before Christina Aguilera was well known. I was like "this song is gonna be huge". I was right.

You dont necessarily have to be 20. I remember and understand LOADS of stuff on the show and I am 17. At least I am not like some of my friend who are the same age saying that they can relate more to I Love the 80's only cause they remember stuff better from there.... I'm like.. you werent alive for 7 yeas of the 80s!! How can you say that??

damn... here we don´t have VH1 but E! it´s making a special called "101 reasons why the 90´s ruled", it´s not the same but i guess it´s gonna be great... althought i´m 17 i remember a lot of things that happened on the 90´s: kurt cobain´s death (i remember i cried the day i heard it, i think that if he wasn´t dead music would be different), for latin america the first time that mtv latin america aired, the macarena mania , power rangers ( i watched it too), the columbine accident, diana´s death, selena´s death, for me the first time that i heard real music... the 90´s in my opinion was a hell of a decade... a lot of awesome things happened... whoever said that it´s proud to be part of the generation x, i totally agree... :D

peace...

I remember I thought it was the coolest thing ever when my Tamagotchis got huge. Then my brother killed them. I don't remember the Crystal Pepsi thing either... I guess I was suffering and mourning the death of my beloved Tamagotchis, lol.. I was a weird kid.

Yup, the 90s are definitely my childhood - I was born in 85! I watched part of I Love 96 and then I Love 97, fun times! I really like it.

I grew up in the 90's...so it's gonna be hella cool.

I love the Spice Girls...

They better not rip on them.:D

I used to be a huge fan, had crap all over my walls. They kinda ripped on 'em though ;) I mean, they didn't last very long at all and they advertised the hell out of themselves. But I still like 2 Become 1... and I still have their CDs :X

I had a Tamagotchi back in the day. Mine was a transparent black. He was so cool. I also had a thing called a Digi-mon (back before the digimon show and card game) that was almost just like a Tamagotchi, but you could press the metal sensors on the top together with another Digi-mon and they would battle. Whoever won got stronger and whoever lost stayed the same, but he was just a little emotional about it. I also had a Pikachu kinda Tamagotchi thing, but to play games with him, you had to carry it around with you and it has a step counter in it and the more you walk around, the more points you get then you can play the slots to get food and stuff for Pikachu. It was pretty neat, but got old fast.

I cannot believe they didn't talk about buffy!

Even more of an outrage, WHERE THE HELL WAS NSYNC? They mentioned them by name once or twice, but they didn't get their own minute, and they were bigger than BSB. How lame. >_< They were certainly bigger than the teletubbies, lmfao. Okay, enough of that shit.

I love the 90's = the shit.

And thanks to you people, I have the Spice Girls stuck in my head. *smacks all those who mentioned the Spice Girls*
