OK, I don't usually eat a lot of sweets but for some odd reason I have had a taste for doughnuts for a few days. Today I bought a dozen and promptly wolfed down 11 in a total of about 15 minutes - I went for number 12 but someone else in the house grabbed it before I could bite their fingers off.

If you're gonna gorge on doughnuts... Krispy Kreme is definately the way to go. Did you ever have the glazed ones when they are still hot and are almost liquify in your mouth? That's the best. But, the blueberry ones are my favorite... *licks lips*

Damn you! Now I'm hungry again :p

Krispy Kremes are starting to pop up all over the place like Starbucks.

Oh my God! That's it!

Krispy Kreme and Starbucks are in cahoots

Soon, they'll take over the world and we'll be slaves to both of their companies.

Damn their evil ways, their good donuts and expensive coffee

Until then, there's Dunkin' Donuts.
(but Memphis, TN does not have one single Dunkin' Donut shop. :( )

Undercover donut shop... is it pretending to be a bagel house? That serves tea? To mailmen? ....
(Chris' brain: don't ask me, I don't know either...)
Christopher: Hehehe....

G'night. Sleep tight. Don't let the beachballs bite.

Oy, I love the glazed donuts. Always been my fav... but I always have to take one and then run far away, because if I stayed near them, I wouldn't be able to stop.

Holy crap, why did I read this when I'm starving and Krispy Kreme closed 25 minutes ago? :(

Our roadtrip last weekend was definitely sponsored by Krispy Kremes. I bought some in 3 different states.

They're yummy yummy sugary crack. Dev calls them Krispy Krack.

they raised the prices for them things...they used to be like $3.96 or somethin, but now it's $4.19 i think. but at Sam's Club, it's $3.20 or somethin..

since people buy them all the time, they was bound to raise the prices anyways  i see so many people buyin them at work.

as for myself, i don't like them Krispy Kreme donuts too much. we got some in the kitchen right now tho...they're okay but...i don't like sweets that much. Those Peeps are an exception tho :D

I feel I may be missing out on something here... Krispy What? This is clearly a popular confection from across the pond, but I've never heard of it. Odd name - Krispy Kreme... sounds more like a biscuit than a doughnut.

Krispy - Hmm... Not how I imagine Doughnuts, to be honest. Kreme... Again, not makin' me think "Deep fried, sugary, doughy ring".

I must seek these doughnuts out. Immediately. Yup... that's me on a mission now...

:)

But If they turn out to be as boggin' as Hershey's 'chocolate' then I shall be most put out

When the first Krispy Kreme shop opened around here, there were stories on the news about a long line of people who waited outside all night to be the first ones in the door.

I thought that sort of thing was reserved for Star Wars movies...

I love Krispy Kreme. You can't really find a chain here, but there's a bagel shop around here that sells them. They're a lot better and a hell of a lot more fresh than Dunkin Donuts. :)

We had cops directing traffic for the first two weeks at ours. We waited in the drive through for like 45 minutes the first time we went. Which wasn't even the first day.

Mmmmm...Krispy Kreme is all over Vegas. (taunting me) I LOVE the raspberry filled ones...ooooh, and when you get a free hot sample...yummy!!! But now I have to go back to eating my squash, eeeewwww...healthy food -blech

omg!!! *drools wildly* i LOVE Krispy Kreme! I also LOVE the fact that when you go in there, they give one friggin WHOLE DONUT as a SAMPLE! it doesnt get much better than that! It's like a tradition now in my family-- whenever we come back from an Evanescence concert, we stop for fresh krispy kreme donuts on the way home!

Honestly, there should be a KKA, they're endangering people's lives with those high levels of sugar! :D

Poofie

The only reason they give out whole free samples is that after eating it, people buy a few dozen more. :p

Krispy Kremes are my favorite donuts. The hot glazed ones just melts in your mouth. Yummy, I agree, they are sugary krispie krack.

When I first moved to Houston, it was my first time seeing Shipley's donuts. Don't care for them very much. Also haven't tried any from Dunkin Donuts.

Dunkin Donuts SUCKS!!! They're always NOT fresh and hard...yuck...the Munchkins/donut holes are good though.

too many people hatin on Dunkin Donuts!! my dad used to own one in Queens...i used to like it! (i don't like sweets too much now, especially them "raspberry with WAY TOO MUCH SUGARS" and various donuts)

of course, that was when i was younger. nowadays, i can't even remember what happened the previous week (even tho this is on the subject of taste)...blah. back then anyways, they had good business. the last time i saw one was around Virginia Beach..

it's amazing how the ones (6-packs) that are like, what $4? with the chocolate covering on the top...sell so good. i saw a couple bein bought at work today (and i was only bagging for like..a little less than 3 hours)...crazy!

I've never had the things either, since they don't really exist out here (at least not anywhere near here). The only thing I usually ever get donut wise is Timbits. mmmm.

I'll have to try the damn things one day if they ever come close to here.

Apparently they have it at Coquitlam Centre. ;)

And in about 7 months they will have it in Pitt Meadows, in my work. :D

heh. Dude, it's like a 20 minute drive from your city isn't it? :p

Okay, I've never actually gone out of my way either, but that's because I had no idea it was that good. Also, I like my Timmy's right now. :p

Colin
03-26-2004, 05:51 AM
Actually I'm not in Vancouver haha. I just lie so people aren't as confused or something. Unless you already know where I live from the BC thread. :P haha. On a good day it's about 30 minutes. Just because I'm a slow driver and traffic usually sucks.

I'm reading a message board for Krispy Kreme hahahahahaha.

Yes, they are just a donut, but you have to understand that in America donuts suck. They are dry, and funny-colored. They do not have donuts like we Canucks, and as such, Krispy Kreme is king to them. Whereas here, the KK is only slightly better than Timmy's. Then again, you do not get free, hot, gooey donuts at Hortons, so I say "Bring it On!"

There ya go. Why am I talking about donuts in the middle of the night? I'll probably dream of the damn things now.

And if you add anything to the basic glazed, the numbers just get worse. I looked at the numbers for one of my favorites (New York Cheesecake), and I don't think I'll ever eat one of those again. It makes the original glazed variety look like health food in comparison.

Now there's an idea! :D I'll name it For Your Eating or something (how lame is this! T_T), where if you spend an outrageous $14.99 for a brand new CD when it's $9.99 at every other major retail store, there will be a discount of 50% off a donut...which would be like...15 cent or something? Yes, I'm cheap :p

LOL the most addictive thing on this planet! NEVER EVER eat a glazed krispy kreme donut with an original kreme cold drink together... WAY TOO SWEET! I unfortunately learned it the hard way!
