If you go to the capital tickets website, and look for ev, and then the extra info, they show the seating chart. THERE IS GENERAL ADMISSION!! I AM GOING TO PEE MY PANTS!! I am also going to be in line, like, three days early.

Someone at my school won tickets from The Bear for his drumming solo, and he's selling them. Supposedly really good seats!

I WISH he worked at a radio station. Then he`d probably get cool stuff like that all the time! it`s just the company that he works for that gets tickets to concerts and stuff at the corel centre ahead of time sometimes. They put employees who want to buy them in a draw. No backstage passes sadly..

I woke up late!! At ten after ten.. I had nightmares I couldn't buy my tickets. However, I have them (though I've got to pick them up at the box office) and they're general admission. I know it has a row/seat number on it, but it's floor GA - they just do that to keep track of how many tickets are sold.

I bought them online right at 10:00 AM! Seeing as I'm short (although not incredibly so), we bought first level tickets so I could still be close to the stage, but be able to actually see :D And I'll be there super early!

Hehehe. This is my fourth show in less than a year.. I'm so excited. We're totally gonna be up front, a ltitle off center (because that's the best place to be) and NO ONE is gonna get thru us.. WOOOOOOOOO. What part of Ottawa/surrounding region are y'all from? Maybe we can carpool.

This is my very first Ev show! I wanted to go to the other ones near my area, but I didn't have a good means of transportation, and I wasn't allowed :rolleyes:. Anyway, it'll be awesome to meet you guys there, I can't wait! And good idea on the pee break thing! :p

Ah, i live like an hour away from the corel centre. Sucks to live in carlsbad springs. I'd probably be able to get my dad to drive me there for 7-8 though on his way to work. If someone lives on the way and needs a ride i might be able to give you one. That's a maybe though..my dad might just drop me off at saint-laurent or something and tell me to take the bus. :rolleyes: busses are evil..

Yep, that's the sucky part about BIG venues... you're gonna have to catch them outside NEAR where the busses are parked or at a stage door right after or sometime before hte concert.

Its today! Wow im so psycked!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is gonna be awesome! Its gonna be my 1st time seeing them, Whew Im so excited! Im gonna be there for noon!

BEST.CONCERT.EVER!!! Best concert anyone could ever go to! Seriously, it was incredible, theres no words really, Amy was amazing, She sounded GREAT! I got there at around noon, We found the tour busses really quick... We waited about a half hour and then we see this girl with long black hair come out of a tourbus my friend was flipping out, she was like "MARIA!!!---" i was in the shade cuz it was so freaking hot, but yea,i ran to the gate and i jumped around a bit, haah, anywys she opened the side door thingy where there bags are and stuff, and she started going through her suitcase, twas kinda funny, I dunno why... But anyways, When she was done, Shaun came out and they walked into the venue 2gether and we were like AMY!! Shaun!! Amy looked up and she smiled and waved, twas so cool, Shaun came out like 5 times, we didnt get to meet them though, anyways Amy came back out a few hours later with Rocky and went into the bus and came out a few minutes later, and Amy had rollerskates on! and she waved and smiled at us again............. but yea ok, the concert was so awesome, I cant wait till next time, haha b4 my immortal she asked the people to sing along, they all did for like the 1st verse, and she said thanks were all great (or something around those lines) and then at the 2nd chorus she let us sing, but people wernt singing anymore (well i was..) i lmao.. idunno why, i was so happy to be there..... Oooh and I was like the only one jumping around and standing in my section!! Well there was maybe like 1 or 2 here and there, but yea those people were so boring, I had so much fun rocking out by myself, lmao! Ooooh and Broken was AMAZING live!!!!!!! Whew I cant wait till next time I think thats it for now, Ill tell you more as I remember...

I concur.. the concert was amazing.. so glad I got a floor ticket this time... all the bands sounded awesome and Ev played Zero, during their encore... it was wicked as hell... that and I threw a Snow White shirt up to the stage during Imaginary... was good fun!

Evanescence was AMAZING live! I was singing along and jumping around the whole time! Amy's even better live than on the CD, it was fantastic! It felt like a dream when I woke up this morning ;) and Maria, that's cool that you got to see Amy!

OTTAWA -- I'm having a hard time understanding how a voice so smooth and high could make me feel like Kramer in that Seinfeld episode.

You know the one in which the sound of Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart's pleasant banter kept causing him to have a seizure?

It's just hard to understand why the very ordinary Evanescence -- who produced a debut album with several synthetic hit songs barely indistinguishable from one another and one very overwrought ballad -- have made it so very big.

They've sold more than 10 million albums since Fallen was released in March of 2003, earned two Grammys, lost a founding member and toured relentlessly.

A band with strong Christian roots -- they're not Megadeath, but those origins have all but vanished -- the band seems to have weathered the loss of founding member Ben Moody, likely due to the focus on lead singer Amy Lee.

With her Elvira-esque hair, the outspoken 22-year-old Little Rock goth goddess -- the one who reminds me of Kramer and Mary Hart -- is to be admired for espousing a healthy girlpower that doesn't involve bare midriffs, tiny puppies and handbags or eating disorders to her young fans.

Four bands

Last night's show at the Corel Centre (as the big finale to a four-act night), drew 7,600 people and captured the dark appeal which has surely made the band so popular. My allergy to Lee's voice aside, it was a no-nonsense, capable effort from a group with a full year of practice playing to crowds in stadiums across North America.

Puffs of mist drifted from backstage while the band prepared to go on. By the time they took the stage, the right mystical underworld effect had been created. Lee bounded out, all black hair and ethereal white flowing skirts (over pants, how chic) and proceeded with her high-pitched wail, which became just as monotonous after about six songs live as it sounds on radio in the middle of one.

That didn't stop the crowd from going wild for the maudlin, nonsensical ballad My Immortal, singing every drippy, "When you cried I wiped away all of your tears," word and screaming in delight as Lee got all Barry Manilow on the baby grand.

"Hit it," she yelled, as the crowd took the mike.

In the end the band reproduced well on stage, sounding better and heavier live -- boosting even the ballads -- than their overproduced studio stuff on the familiar Going Under, Bring Me To Life and newer Everybody's Fool.

Just an hour

But at just over an hour in length -- no wonder they have so many bands on tour with them -- the show was, like the music, nothing special.

The evening started with up-and-comers Breaking Benjamin, moved on the South African-born band Seether (lead singer Shaun Morgan has dated Lee for more than a year; the pair sing together on Broken, another heartbreaking ballad getting lots of radio play and turning up on Seether's Disclaimer II).

Next up were Toronto-based heavy rockers Three Days Grace, a band born in the tiny Peterborough-area town of Norwood.

Listening to lead singer-guitarist Adam Gontier belt out (I Hate) Everything About You I have to wonder just how long those powerful pipes are going to last.

My throat hurt just listening.

But at least I didn't feel like I was Kramer hearing Mary Hart.

That *is* harsh--I have no idea how that person got that from the show. I do not lie when I say that Amy was magnificent live, and that the show was amazing. My guess is that the reviewer wasn't so keen on the band when they first came out, and that carried on into their work. However, it is a known fact Ottawa reviewers seemingly always give harsh, unfounded reviews, they've done it in the past. Plus, the Toronto reviews were good. I don't know how they got that from the concert.

This morning I listened tothe CD and I was like LIVE IS 10000000000000X BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously though, I was the only one having fun in my section, well except near the end the people beside me stood up, but yea.... It was so much fun, I had a blast, and she said something about next time! haha! Theres gonna be a next time! :D

I still like the insult that "Evanescence is like a pickachu painted black" a whole lot better. At least that one made me giggle. And what does puppies or handbags have to do with anything? *shakes head*

Yeah, I think that was as positive as the reviewer was going to get. He may as well have said, "At least she isn't Paris Hilton." Which, of course, has nothing to do with anything.

What a fucking amazing concert. Out of the four it's the best I've seen.

We got there around 11.. at about 1 I went back to the busses to see if anyoen was there. Shaun waved at us, and Terry waved at us too, and so did Will and Rocky. I didn't see Amy at all but JOHN CAME OUT TO THE GATE AND SIGNED FOR THE FIVE OF US!!! So I got a picture with him which was super.. and I gave him the present I made the band and he took it back with him.. that was cool. We talked a little about what it was like touring Europe and Finger Eleven..

And then he had to go, but he was so nice..

The concert was fucking amazing... there are no other words to describe it. I was rightin the front row and it was just... phenominal. The energy and clarity of it was just super - a little loud (ie, hard to hear Amy even in the front bvecause everyone sang) but super good... I was so happy to be the only one in the front who seemed to know BReath No More ;)

Security was really pissy about pictures, so I only snapped a few because they threatened to take away my camera..

After the show I ran back to the busses with hope of meeting.. it wasn't until about 12:45 that Amy walked from the stage door to the bus. She didn't come over (there were like 50 people there, I wouldn't have come over either).. people started to leave and when there was a crowd of about 15 left (by this time it was almots 1:30) John came back out. He signed more stuff and took more pictures and this guy walking by earlier (crew) had handed me a drumstick.. John told me it wasn't rocky's but he signed it anyways, and we complimented him on the show. He took a huge banner someone had hand-drawn on banner material back to the bus and got everyone to sign it for this guy. When he came back he had guitar picks - autographed - and as he gave them out he said, "Please let me have enough, oh, please let me have enough.." Hee. He mentioned his wife was going to kill him for hanging out so long and then she actually came out and stood with us, it was pretty funny..

Then he took the letter I'd written to Amy, and said she wasn't going to come out because she was a little tipsy and didn't want her fans to see her like that. We laughed and waited around another 10 minutes or so and hten left.

It was so super!!

It woulda been cool to meet John, We were at the gate @ the top of the hill, We saw someone signing autographs , by the time we ran down there he was leaving so... But its cool u got to meet him! But he waved at us a couple of times... Terry and Will and Shan too... and Amy! It was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my stupid digital camera wasnt working all day, so I got no pics of the band walking in and out of the busses and the corel center, and by the time I got it to work we were inside the corel center and the nthe guy said to put it away or else hes gona confiscate it! I was so pissed! but it was an AMAZING CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best outta 4, huh?!? THATS COOL!! lol!

Ahhh it was AWESOME!!! i got lots of pics. had the avoid the friggin camera nazi in our section who kept pointing a flashlight at me though. I managed to film a few songs too with my digicam. Broken, some of bring me to life, and i dont remember what else. lol..waiting for my cam's batteries to recharge, i'll post the pics later and ill try to figure out how the put the videos online..

That's why I love John and always will :) He's such a cool guy and loves hanging out with the fans. I've seen him the most out of the shows I've been to. I hope I see him at least again on thursday. I would be kinda bumbed if I didn't get to meet any of them at all being my only show on this tour but oh well. I need to stop worrying about it so much :p

The concert was fucking amazing... there are no other words to describe it. I was rightin the front row and it was just... phenominal. The energy and clarity of it was just super - a little loud (ie, hard to hear Amy even in the front bvecause everyone sang) but super good... I was so happy to be the only one in the front who seemed to know BReath No More ;)

Security was really pissy about pictures, so I only snapped a few because they threatened to take away my camera..

After the show I ran back to the busses with hope of meeting.. it wasn't until about 12:45 that Amy walked from the stage door to the bus. She didn't come over (there were like 50 people there, I wouldn't have come over either).. people started to leave and when there was a crowd of about 15 left (by this time it was almots 1:30) John came back out. He signed more stuff and took more pictures and this guy walking by earlier (crew) had handed me a drumstick.. John told me it wasn't rocky's but he signed it anyways, and we complimented him on the show. He took a huge banner someone had hand-drawn on banner material back to the bus and got everyone to sign it for this guy. When he came back he had guitar picks - autographed - and as he gave them out he said, "Please let me have enough, oh, please let me have enough.." Hee. He mentioned his wife was going to kill him for hanging out so long and then she actually came out and stood with us, it was pretty funny..

Then he took the letter I'd written to Amy, and said she wasn't going to come out because she was a little tipsy and didn't want her fans to see her like that. We laughed and waited around another 10 minutes or so and hten left.

It was so super!!

That's AWESOME!!! John is such a sweetheart...he too was the only the stopped to sign stuff at the toronto concert...VERY nice guy!

And Amy...two nights in a row, you go girl :p hehehe

I love when that happens. Aside from the hardcore EV fans (some of them didn't even know Zero or 4th of july though ;)) no one knows those songs. I rem at a couple of my shows I was the only one that was jumping around and singing along to ZERO and Amy kept looking at me lol. I saw one of the crew that was watching from the side stage staring at me cuz I knew all the words and the order of the sogns and they were like :eek: It was fun singing to 4th of july and having Will look at me cuz almost no one else knew what song it was ha ha :p

i was totally pysched when they played breathe no more... im like YAY and my fav song that they play live is FARTHER AWAY, OH YEAH... man i could rock out to that live for HOURS....

I still dont know which one was my fav live, They were all amazing, I loved My Immortal!!!!! It gave me chills, Esp at the end when everyone stood up and went insane!!!

Oooooooh! AWESOME!!! You were pretty close! I had 100L too, but i was center stage, So its kinda farther... I couldnt take pics cuz the security butt head was like "Put it away or im gonna confiscate it" and since it wasnt my camera I couldnt that a chance.... But I gave my disposible one to my friend in GA and he took a whole bunch for me that I will be going to get today or tomrrow

wow those pictures are AWESOME! ah i'm jealous :) sounds like you had an amazing time. i love all of amy's outfit. for the t.o one she was wearing a skirt like the one at your concert, but it looked much heavier, was kind of shorter at the front, and no pants. but she was wearing these kick ass black leather boots. lol

I loved the concert in Ottawa!! It was my first time seeing Evanescence In concert.
I came to Ottawa to study english from Mexico, and I was told Evanescence was having a concert, I couldn't belive it, then I went to buy my tickets not knowing if there were some left, there were some and I bougth one, It was incredible thet I would see my favourite band live withouth even planning it!!!
then, the day of the concert I had a so great time!! it is much better to hear the songs live, Amy has a wonderful voice.
I was jumping, singing and screaming like crazy, I was one of the few people in my area that went so crazy.
I loved My Immortal, it's my favorite song. I haven't heard toughtless and broken before, I liked them very much!!

It was a VERY cool show.. Its been like.. 2 months and it feels like last week!!!!!!!! I cant wait till next time!

God I haven't been on the boards for so long.

I just wanted to say that I am in this picture. I can't describe how I look cause it's all blurry, but I am beside the short guy with the longish dark hair nearish to the bouncer..

I love Evanescence more with every day.. since I heard them almost three years ago I've just been insane..

Does a bootleg exist of this show? If so I'd like one.
