Evanescence with Seether and 3 Days Grace will be in Phila., Pa. at Penn's Landing's Festival Pier on Friday July 23rd. Tickets to go on sale this Saturday May 22nd.

It was just announced this morning on Y100 (http://www.y100.com/default.asp) although I haven't located any info on the web yet for it. Big brother's has filtered out most band sites so I can go to them until I get home.


Time to party in the city of Brotherly Love AGAIN!!!!!!!!

There is a general admission area, but it's all the way in the back.

That would make me a very happy girl...This seating business is just not cool, especially when you have a big group that wants to go together. Then you have to separate into different groups so you have a better chance of getting decent seats and all that b/s. Nah, they had some pretty freakin' big shows there last year... The White Stripes being the most notable that I can think of right now. While they're not my cup of tea, most people think they're awesome and flocked to the show.

As for the venue... you're RIGHT! There WERE a few shows there last year! I swear, I have been realizing the past 2 weeks that I must have had some sort of trauma last summer... I have absolutely NO recollection of ANYTHING I did! For the entire summer! I can't remember it at all! I do'nt know what my problem is... :confused:

Maybe the thing is that this year they are advertising the shows more? I have never been INSIDE this venue. All I know is I was almost in tears when I thought the GA tickets I bought on the presale were in the back... AAAh! LOL. Katie is my hero! :p

I believe it's all done on the one site. I had to dig up a link from an old e-team e-mail from a presale back in January to get to it because I never received this presale e-mail. I just had to get a new password when I visited the site. And, I'm assuming they'll be having another presale for the NY and MD shows, but I don't know how it'll work with these being seated venues. They've only ever done them with General Admission shows, haven't they?

Nope. the seating chart I posted was for the festival pier's seated shows. They will be taking the seats away for the Ev show. I got the chart via the electricfactory website.

Personally? All I can say about the shirt is... don't be that guy I refuse to associate with people who wear the shirts of the band they have come to see. Cause seriously... just... don't be that guy.

Hopefully I'll be able to wear my black/pinstripe old schooly nurse dress. I'll be dieting to fit back into it... that way i'll be able to not die from heat stroke.

The amount of general admission frightens me too...That is a rather large load of GA. The body heat of squishing in tight quarters mixed with the heat of the summer is gonna be brutal. What also sucks is that most venues don't let you bring your own water, but they'll gladly charge you 4 bucks for a bottle there... I wish they would've been booked at indoor venues.

i'm going too...it's going to be my first ev concert ever, i'm so excited :p

Just wondering what time everyone is planning to line up. I think I'm going to have to abandon my night before plan due to the not-hard-core people I'm going with, :mad: but I am devising a way to be there at least in the morning/early afternoon. Despite being relatively close to me, I won’t be attending this show. I’d like to, but it just isn’t meant to be.

I wish I could see the band again. Moreover though, I wish I could spend time with you all, party, hang out and get into all the trouble you’ll be getting into.

I haven’t posted here in a while, and I suppose not going to this or any of the other shows anytime soon will further make me feel disconnected. I hope you won’t forget me. I know I can’t forget you all.

eh probably not, just drink alot of water and you should be ok. I did summer saniatrium last year in pants in 95 degree weather, just lots of water is the key and if you feel faint go out of the crowd and sit down.

The King of all Cicadas is happening right now in this area. The 17 YEAR CICADA.

For those that don't know you have no idea what these guys do. The spend 17 years in a larva state eating at the roots of trees. Then they craw out of the ground (leaving about half inch holes in the ground. It can look like swiss cheese), craw up the side of anything and everything, crack open their exoskeleton and craw out of it with their big wings. The shell is left to dangle and fall tothe ground. In some areas you need a snow shovel to clean up the used exoskeletons. And then they make a HUGE LOUD RACKET in order to mate so they can make babies and die. We won't see their children for 17 years when they craw out of the ground to do it all over again.

Uhm this sucks, but I'm not going to be able to make the show. I have to be a RESPONSIBLE person. I'm the Leader in a Cub Scout Pack and we are going to Day Camp that week. Friday we will have our end of the Week stuff and I just don't see it all being done in time for me to make it down to Phila for the show. I need to make sure all of the kids are picked up by the parents and all that happy who-ha.

I've been trying to track down pictures of the venue on the web and managed to find a few. They're pretty small, but they're the only ones I've found so far and you can still see what it's like. It looks like a rather odd place to hold a rock concert. I really hope I'm not stuck on any of these steps... Anyway, here they are:

I just looked online, and there is a show at the pier on Saturday AFTERNOON (2pm, i think, it says the show starts). If I remember correctly, there is supposedly a "place you can stand NEAR there where you can see right over everything to the stage". LOL. anyway, we'll be there early that day, and i'll try to find the best way to take pics... I feel kind of nervous. I dont' know why. LOL

It's not a typo. 3DG will also not be playing in Virginia because they'll be playing the Rolling Rock Town Fair. Idk what they'll be doing on the PA date, maybe just a day off, but they won't be playing with Ev. It's also not listed on PollStar or ThreeDaysGrace.com.

Thanks so much for getting those pics! Wow, it looks a lot similar to the Chevrolet Ampitheatre at Station Square in Pittsburgh. Well, maybe, I dunno lol. That one was all outdoors as well, but surprisingly it wasn't that crowded. Luckily my friend was an experienced concertgoer so we were able to push to the front even after leaving to buy water! But that was a year ago, and I think it's safe to say Ev's gotten a bit more popular since then. Looks like there will be plenty of space to line up early. Thank God for no steps!! :( Sad news- (well for me anyway) there's a chance I won't even be able to make it to the show. I'll be having radiation therapy for my thyroid cancer on July 15 or so, and from what I've read, it takes a month to fully recover from its effects! I can't even imagine not going, it's been such a rough summer with this stupid cancer and this was the one thing I had to look forward to...everyone please wish me luck that I can go... :(

Things are not looking good, one of the effects is extreme intolerance to heat, and it takes at least 2 weeks after the treatment for it to go away. Same for the muscle weakness. No jumping or fist pumping?? No \m/ ?? ::tears::

Keep in mind, this venue is usually used for folk singers and irish festivals. Evanescence isn't the sort of band that is generally known to play here. Rock concerts are new to this venue, and there are OBVIOUSLY kinks that need to be worked out with the security, planning, and barricade.

But jesus christ. Evanescence fans aren't smarter than Lit fans. Judging by the branda James thread, I'd say they're probably less intelligent (most present company excluded)

my boyfriend has begged me to stick to the back to avoid injury. I'm considering it. As much as i want to be close and see the band, it's not worth getting crushed and seriously hurt by the stupid people i loathe oh so very much.

I hope you guys make out ok :) I would have to agree with your boyfriend though for this show I would stick to the back because if its in the parking long area that place looks rediculously huge and if its at the steps that will be danger waiting to happen :(

yup! that was me... i hope you guys have seen the pictures of the venue i posted (even though they are crap pics. hehe). Anyway, it looks like it will just be a big flat nothing with a stage. God forbid it storms or something. I just suggest bringing sunblock and a hat. hehe...

There's a 5 star hotel right there and a museum and it's constantly patrolled by police officers. you non-Phillians and your constantly being scared that it's a band area... it cracks me up!

As far as water goes most venues dont usually allow you to bring in outside stuff so that's nice to know that this place will let you bring in a bottle so you dont have to pay $10 for a bottle inside lol. Just be careful at that show cuz a big open space like that if its in the parking lot thing I saw could indeed get brutal. I dont know what to think if it's at the place with the steps that's just a bunch of accidents waiting to happen :( Too bad though cuz this could've been show #4 for me :(
