I find it strange, that whenever I want to change threads, or
just click on something, its very slow.
I'm wondering if its the actual site, or my computer!?!
Does anyone else have this problem?
( I just want to know, if maybe I should have my comp looked
at, or if its actually fine )
This can be deleted afterwards, I just wanted some feedback!

I notice the site to be very slow on occasion, I end up having to leave the site for a few hours and come back. Sometimes the page doesn't even load at all!

i think it is more likely your internet connection, i had major problems with it being very very slow, however as my area line was changed it is all good and fast. i do find some threads take longer to open depending on size and or image content on the page.

Hmm, well, it's not my computer because I can tell when it's playing up. Sometimes if I just want to go to the User CP the page refuses to load for me, then a few hours later it's fine again...

hummm I'm not sure. I havn't had any issues with it since TOB sold it. it could possibly be your connection, or the site. I'm generally on sporatically during the day so, not sure.

I don't have any problems with page loading either, so yes probably it's your connection Trina.

I suspect it's the same problems that have been going on for years. This place has always had random short duration slowdowns. They got a lot worse (and then nearly everyone noticed them) back around the time the board got too big for the backups, and then again when the indexes got too big and the database ground to a near-halt. ToB fixed the last two but I don't believe he ever found a cause to the random slowdown issues. I still see them randomly, I just come back 10 minutes or so later and they have usually stopped.

I think it depends on the computer and the internet service. Like, my internet service is netzero...it's slow. But I have a newer computer, so it's tolerable!!!!

It could be multiple things. You could have a lot of programs open on your computer and slowing everything down. Your Internet connection could be suffering from connection problems. Your Internet hosts could be having problems on their end. Our server could be undergoing maintenance or at high capacity levels at the time you are on. There are so many things that can factor into this. We do monitor site performance and there hasn't been any prolonged issues surrounding the site that we are aware of.

Yeah, or there could be too much stuff saved on the computer, like music and stuff. I've been clearing mine off so I hope it'll make the computer faster.

it could aslo be that you have to many other programs up and running or an over zealous firewall

I have just defraged my computer, and its working a little
better, but it is still giving me a little bit of problems.
I tried to go on other sites, and it seems all fine
on there.
Maybe my computer just wants to be a pain in the ass.
It will be just fine for a little while, and then starts up again
to being slower.
Well....I am just going to look into cleaning out Everything possible. ;)

Thats easy for you to say, it's the shittiest program full of faults, but all computers come with it now. It'd take too much to remove it and put Windows on it. Since I got the computer there has been nothing but trouble. Nothing I can do really. I just hope they fix the stupid program because I know other people have trouble with it too.

Actually it's not that hard to remove it and install something else, just ask someone to do it for you in exchange of a drink or something, lol

But if I did remove it, would the computer still load with all my programs still on it? Do I have to install another program first, and then get rid of Vista?

While it's not something I'd recommend you to do when you reinstall windows, but there are a few ways to make it possible. I can tell you in a PM if you want, but if you're not that good with computers I think you indeed better just ask someone and not bother at all.

I'm not good with computers at all. My dad often says he is, but all he manages to do is mess it up even more.
Let me know how to do it anyway - I might try and see what happens.;)

I'm not sure, if by programs you mean things you've saved over time.
My computer crashed for a week and we saved everything we had on disks and installed most of it again when we put windows XP on.
( I'm pretty sure it's called XP)

I have requested my friend, who knows all about computers....
To help program mine, in a different way.
The questions I have been asking him, he told me.....
* Gosh you have so much to learn *
I kind of smiled, and said, Ohh Yes, I know.
He said it would be easyer, if he was here in person, to
show me what i want to know.
SO hopefully, he can come sometime this week.
