Not sure if any non-scots will know them but Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan. They do 2 scottish comedy shows, Still Game and Chewin the Fat. Still Game is screened all over britain though now i think.

-Willow.what a coincidence, i was going to post about mr bean in the comedy thread! i did like mr bean but i barely remember much, those memories i do have are fond though. went to see the film as well, prefered the tv series however. we have a "mr bean's diary" book somewhere too, hehe. he was good in blackadder as well, oh and baldric, haha! tony robinson, i even remember that 'maid marian and her merry men' program on old skool cbbc.

Most comedians these days suck, it's all just the same shit over and over again. Chris Rock ruled when he did stand up. Of the newer comedians, Jimmy Carr stands out as one of the greats.

Jimmy Carr is great! :D Peter Kay is good too and Johnny Vegas is on my list but he's not amazing. Can't understand half of the stuff he's saying half of the time. I love the old comedy shows like "Laurel and Hardy" and "The Marx Brothers".
P.s. Mr Bean... I remember that film... nearly peed my pants!

Yes! <3 And Karen Dunbar. I think Scots are the only people that understand their own humour. :( Because we are damned hilarious!

At the moment i would say Jimmy Carr.
He is quite funny at times when doing quiz shows etc but to really see how funny he is you need to see his stand up its brilliant. Quite offensive to some people maybe but still very funny

i've actually seen chewin' the fat, although it was years back as it was at our old house. even though it was obviously made for a scottish audience it didn't mean i couldn't enjoy it. it was better than doing nothing anyway :p
oh and i mean british tv thread, not british comedy thread...it's just a lot i remember were comedies. gotta love the brittish sense of humour :D
no i haven't seen johnny english, willow.. i guess you think i should then? ah, so many films to see. it's like trying to check out more bands but not quite as many :p
oh, rik mayall. does anyone remember bottom? or that jackanory thing where he told a story... i can't remember which one now but it was great. there was a medicine anyway, he actually mixed ingredients and got flour over his clothes. heh. i can't remember what it was now, although i think it was a roald dahl story anyway. he was in the young ones too.
