i was watching advanced warning on mtv last night and heard about her then today at school her song was played in the background of channel one's news (they make us watch channel one in home room :rolleyes: ) and then her picture was in a magazine i was reading today ..so i thought i best check her out..and i really like some of her music...and she even writes her songs by herself and plays the guitar...her music is sorta pop--ish though..but it's creative..you can check out her website

well I used to see her on the Channel M (at the local arcade) and I swore the first I saw it she was avril, but Katy plays drums (yes?). I didnt think her music was "Exactly" like avrils or that she acts "exactly" like avril.

I like her...I*ve heard her before as 2/3 people on the other forum I visit regularly loves her...They think she*s amazing!...I don*t think she*s amazing...But she*s not bad...I like *Overdrive* the most

Katy Rose was on TRL today, I thought she looked kinda cool, although I see a striking resemblence to "She-who-is-an-emo-poser" .... I listened to part of her song "overdrive" and I thought she sounded pretty cool, she's different than most female singers nowadays, kinda like if Alanis Morisette and Avril had a lovechild... it'd be her... (but that's my opinion)

I heard her song "Overdrive" on the radio today. It was ok but the lyrics were stupid. "I'm Cherry Cola"

She also wrote a song for the movie THIRTEEN.

Theres a HUGE difference between comparing Linkin Park and Evanescence, and comparing her and Avril Lavigne.

For one, Avril and Katy have SOOOOOO many more similarities. And secondly, it's extrememly obvious her record company is trying to follow the trend that Avril blew up with. I mean she's already been labeled "THE BRITNEY SLAYER," which is retarted since she just came out.

Evanescence however, had no intention of copying a style, trend, or music set on by another band. "Bring Me To Life" is the only similar song to any of Linkin Park songs cause of the rapping, while ALL of Katy Rose's songs (yes I've listened to all of them) sound extremely similar to Avril Lavigne's songs.

I like Katy Rose, she's pretty good. From the songs I've heard, she's a wonderful songwriter. And on the subject of her being like Avril Lavigne, I don't agree with that, but I prefer Avril to Katy.

I think her single is ok. It's kinda lame. I listened to the whole disc at a Tower Records listening station, and I must say I wasn't impressed. I hate it that people are comparing her to Avril. Avril is way more talented in my opinion than this chick.

Yeah, I heard that "Overdrive" song and I thought it was Avril. But I'm soooo loving that "Lemon" song. Beautiful song. I think she's alright, actually.

Katy Rose has preformed several times in memphis lately. Twice within the span of a month's time. (She opened for Liz Phair at the New Daisy, then played a "Christmas" radio show at Hard rock cafe, Memphis).

I haven't seen her live. Overdrive is pretty good. that's about all I know of her. (she's hot playing drums in the video for "overdrive").

i love katy rose. im a huge fan. she lives in L.A. shes nothing like avril. the single Overdrive may be. but no. i like the song Lemon. her lyrics are beautiful.

In a Blender article about new stars or something she started bashing Catholic-ism and things of that nature calling it "complete and utter bullshit"... she appears to also have a fasicination with Cemetaries... and she visits a Civil War one where her family is from and she likes going so she can smell the dead corpses she says. Apparently she aslo had a fascination with knives at one point... Ok... first her blunt opinion on a religon kinda rubbed me the wrong way... but now as I type this I cant figure out if she's cool or if she's a wacko.

So I give her thumbs up for her straight-up-opinion
But sadly she looks like Avril's long lost sister that changed her name from "Visine" to "Rose"

I keep seeing her Overdrive video on MTV Hits, and I'm like "Where the hell did she come from?" It was like, outta nowhere. I think the song's catchy, but the lyrics aren't great and her voice isn't that good either. She looks a bit like Avril, but I think Avril's far more talented in the vocal department. I've only heard Overdrive, though, so I can't make a fair comparison. I'd probably like her, since I like just about everything I hear.

i really like her. i've liked her since before she was on mtv. i don't even remember where i first heard her...

I like Katy's music..., I'm not too crazy about "Overdrive" since it's ...sorta stereotypical punk-pop type of song.... but I like a lot of of he other songs...especualy "I Like" and "Wathing the Rain" - since she's not stopping every minute so the audience can catch what parts are supposed to rhyme.

I got her album yesterday and its good.I like most of the songs on it.Its worth every penny.I recommend it to anyone who likes her.She's better than Avril

I had to look her up on Google because I didn't know who she was and plus, I wanted to find out how old she was. I didn't know she sang "Overdrive"....I had forgotten about her being the chick that recorded one of the songs for "Thirteen".

I don't think she sounds wacko, I just think she's trying to hard to fit in with the "hardcore" crowd though if you're singing pop music, you shouldn't say things like that. She was also about 17 when that came out right? Not to mention, we've all said some weird things in our life before ;) . The media likes twisting words around and editing stuff to make it sound completely different. You can never rely on the media too much although when I saw her on tv, she acted rather strange. But oh well, I guess it could be worse :)
