here's the article.. damn thats a long time! :(

Quentin Tarantino said Monday he plans to shoot a third part of the "Kill Bill" vengeance series.

"I have plans, actually not right away, but like in 15 years from now, I'll do a third version of this saga," the director said at a news conference to promote "Kill Bill - Vol. 2," which opens in Spain next month.

Tarantino said part three would focus on the daughter of a hired killer that Uma Thurman's character bumps off early in her revenge spree.

Thurman plays The Bride, who goes after her former lover and boss, Bill, after he kills her fiance on their wedding day and leaves her in a coma.

Tarantino said he set his goals high in shooting the two films.

"'Good' - that wouldn't have been good enough. 'Well done' would have been an insult. I was doing the movie to do some of the greatest action scenes ever made," he said.

Asked whether violence seduces audiences, Tarantino said: "You better believe it. I mean that's one of the reasons why it's so cinematic. It can be very enthralling. I've always said Thomas Edison invented the movie camera to show people killing and kissing."

Considering how much cash Tarantino raked in with Kill Bill, he'll probably make a LOT more movies before releasing Kill Bill vol. 3.
It'll be interesting to see if he decides to kill off Uma Thurman in the last vol. After all, the little girl is going to be the hero but would Tarantino really make his favorite actress be the bad guy in a plot that almost invariably ends with the bad guy dying?

I'm a huge Tarantino fan but I thought Kill Bill was overated, after all the press previews, reviews etc I was overhyped and the end result was a dissapointment for me, I haven't seen vol. 2 yet so ya never know it may change my opinion...

I wish it could be a little sooner :( than fifteen years. I just got to watch the first one like last week. And I must say, it was much better than I anticipated. :)

I agree. i think it's because uma told the lil kid something like "in fifteen years, if you're still sore about this, you come and find me"
therefore tarantino will be waiting fifteen years to release it. lol! i suppose he is going for the realism aspect of it.

holy crap!! Thats isnt half a long time!!!
We're they all not filmed together, because I'm certain I heard him say in an interview that it was originally a 4 hour film, that they cut into three separate films

Yep, i heard bout this a long time ago- Quentin planned to use the young girls in the early Kill Bill and make them characters, much older, in the next movie...

And has anyone heard anything about a prequel all in anime/cartoon? I guess that movie would be called "Bill", or something...

But I was thinking... if Vernita (the first villain Uma kills in KB1)'s daughter gorws up and is... 22 or something, Uma will be a lot older, also- and may not have the same uh...fighting 'spunk'. She might die easy. But look at Pai Mei, he was really old, and he could break Uma's arm off... Maybe Uma will get better with age.

I <3 Kill Bill

i don't think that all three would have been filmed together. i think it was just the first two.. .. i haven't heard anything about the prequel! but then again i am not really into the anime, but i still believe i will watch it because tarantino is the master of playing with genre!

Your all forgetting about Uma's daughter in the film. She will be about the same age as Vernita's daughter.... hmmmmm...... ;)

And no, they didnt film 3 in a row. The two together are about 4 hours..or close there of..

And I have heard about a prequel....I think it might be centered around Hatorio Hanzo...Not sure though...

I think he only said that to please the fans. What are the odds that both girls with still be acting, or even alive in 15 years. We'll wait and see!

For the anime prequel. Here's the info I saw a few months back from IGN:
April 06, 2004 - IMDB's news section - which has erroneously reported in the past that Russell Crowe and Laurence Fishburne won't do interviews with the Internet press - has a story that Quentin Tarantino is planning on an animated prequel to his Kill Bill movies.

The film will be drawn in the Japanese anime style used in Kill Bill Volume 1 and will focus on the three men - pimp Estebian Vihaio and martial arts masters Hattori Hanzo (Sonny Chiba's character) and Pei Mei (Gordon Liu's character) - who turned Bill into a ruthless killer.

Tarantino is set to write and produce the animated film. When is anyone's guess. His next project is to direct a segment of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's comic book adaptation Sin City.

Maybe someday we'll get the Vega Brother movie also!! :)

I never seen any of the 2. Did Uma kill the lady in the first one where they were fighting in the house and the daughter comes home from school?

RedRooster I'd also love to see a Vega brothers movie, though it would have to be a prequel based on the fact that they're both dead and all.

I didn't know QT was directing part of the Sin City movie, that's very interesting, who knows maybe one day QT and Robert Rodriguez will reunite to make a good From Dusk Till Dawn sequel / prequel, but what are the chances of that?...

I saw the first Kill Bill and loved it. I can't wait to see the second, and I guess I'll HAVE to wait to see the third. I believe he's doing this to increase revenues of the first two movies. In fifteen years, kids that are like 3 now will be interested in seeing the third version. They will see the first two before hand. Releasing the third in fifteen years is in essense allowing another generation to become interested in the series. Although, I think it's cool about the "In 15 years...come find me..." quote and actually doing the movie in 15 years.

I think i remember an interveiw where he said he wanted to make kill bill and started thinking about it like 10 years ago or something... and that ended up happening so this one prob will too... so long away though! Damn!

I'll be twenty-seven when the next Kill Bill movie comes out? Gosh, that's a long time from now. I've only seen the first one, and I loved it. I'm not really into gory movies, but there is something about the way Tarantino directs movies that makes this one great to watch. I officially love this movie. I hope he changes his mind and starts to film relatively soon!

Holy Moley! 15 Years??

Why even says that? Anyway, I really did think that when the Bride offed that first girl, and the daughter saw, and she says that she'll expect revenge in the future, that it'd come back to haunt her. But a 15 year later sequel wasn't what i had in mind.

So, once I'm settled down and starting a family, I can take my 5 year old kids to see this movie! :p

Remember that QT says a lot of things and doesn't have the time to make them all ;) I'm still waiting on my Vegas Brother movie.
