Well I know this problem is really trivial compared to most of the others, but it is a big problem to me.
For some time now I’ve wanted a pet cat, it would be the perfect pet for me as it would be a great companion, (I can’t get a dog because I’d have to walk it) and now my parents are agreeing to get me one, some day. They say it will be before December but are giving no exact date. Every time I ask them when I will get a Cat, or drop hints they tell me to stop obsessing and that for every day I nag I’ll have to wait another day, but I have no way to communicate with them about it. I understand that they are worried about the money but I have already agreed to buying the cat and paying the majority of its medical fees. My parents aren’t like this on any other subject and are usually really good listeners.
Any ideas on how to get through to them would be appreciated
Thanks

I suggest asking them what they waiting for, in a nice way. Ask them if it is because they do not know where to get one, or they are waiting to give it to you as a christmas gift. Don't just say "why can't I get my cat now.". Say something like "is there anything I can do to help you find a cat for me."
perhaps they already know of a cat they want to give you, and are just going to surprise you with it one day. Also, if you are asking them about it EVERY day, they may be getting annoyed. it may seem like a big deal to you, but to them there are more important things, like bills and feeding you, that take a priority,
Just be patient. december is a few months away. if december passes, and you still have no cat, then you have a right to be angry. just be happy they consented at all. And wait for them to get it for you. Don't nag them every day, parents hate that, and it obviously hasn't worked yet

Well if I was you, and they said by December, I'd just ride it out and see what happens.
By the way, vet bills CAN be expensive, I noticed you said you'd be paying for most of them yourself, yet you're only 13? Just be sure you know what you're getting into. :)

Wait...whats the problem?
Sounds like you're getting your cat, to me. You were given an approximate time you'd be getting it...so...? Whats the deal, again? Uh, maybe you should wait until -after- its december and you dont have a cat to be having a problem.

Thanks for all your advice,
Yep i know what i'm getting into with the vet bills and i'm pretty sure i can pay them, or atleast half of them.
My mum said December a few days ago, about febuary she said I would be getting a Cat soon, soon is very vague but i think soon has passed.
Thanks

Do you have a birthday or something before December?
My guess is that they want to give it to you as a surprise, maybe for Christmas? And if that's not the case, then they've given you their word that you will be getting your cat, so if I were you I'd stop bugging them about it before they change their mind.
You better start thinking up some names!

My friend had always wanted a cat, but she didn't get one till this year, and she is 17. So adventually you will get one ;)
And her parents totally surprised her with the cat, they just came home from the markets one day with it. It was very cute :D (the situation that is)
So my advice is to wait, but also still show your parents are keen for the cat so they don't think you have lost interest. But don't worry you will get it ;)

Well i got a cat today.
A grey and white tabby, (some brown). I was walking in town with my mum and sister, we popped into the petshop and saw this cat, her two sisters had been purchased already, the cat was so sweet, my mum fell in love with it. Next thing i knew she was on the phone to my dad and he said we could have it. My sister called her milly and she is currently playing under my desk.
