Ok, so I did the no-no of checking out a band that was listed in Ebay "If you like Evanescence, try this band out too!" and that band is Lullacry. It's a Finnish female-fronted "goth metal" band but it seems more rock friendly. I downloaded their single Don't Touch the Flame and although it ain't Ev or Lacuna Coil, it's catchy.

Anybody heard of them? and if you haven't but you've just checked them out, what do you think of them? Too bad a lot of female fronted bands out there are all overseas. But they have a pretty lead singer and a WWF looking band. Haha.

I think I have heard one song from them. I was planning on downloading more, but never got around to it. And since they are Finnish I defnintly need to check them out. A lot of good music come from Finland

Yeah it seems like a lot of good acts from overseas (from me). I just hope they get big enough to be able to do some good shows in the U.S.!

I downloaded their video for the song "Damn You." They seem to be a pretty decent band imho, I think I should investigate further. I wouldn't however be inclined to label em "goth" metal (at least they didn't "look" goth in the video) Anyway, I'd go so far as to say that they are just some good straight ahead heavy metal (which is definitely a good thing)

so, I read that they got a new singer....in the midst of them making the new album. I haven't been able to download any of their older stuff, so I was wondering what anybody else thought of Be My God or even the extra-rare Sweet Desire. Just wondering if it was worth trying to find. I think I'm gonna go get the CD!

Old singer = Tanya, she was awesome. Be My God R0X0RS, I think.
New singer = Tanja (Weird, I know) and she's pretty damn cool, too. I think Be My God is my favorite song of theirs, but I'm not sure. You should buy the CD. Now. Do it.

there was a mp3 site that came up under a search I did on them....but you had to pay money to download any of the songs. They did however have both Be My God and Crucify My Heart to download as complete albums.

i know them since 4 months I guess...loland i have their last album, they rock !! :D

but it's not really goth metal...more heavy rock i think...

I dl'ed some tracks from Be My God and I gotta say I really like their sound! I just can't wait for the CDs to come in the mail. In fact I like they way better than I like Nightwish because I like the singer's voice...not so operatic. And the guitars are more rocksy than DreamTheater metal-progressive. damn CDs wont they just come??? :P

I know it's OOP and not quite as prolific on Ebay as Origin is, but I was wondering, if anyone could point me into the direction of obtaining it, or if anyone would be willing to burn me a copy of it, I would greatly appreciate it. God Century Media is SLOOOOOWWWW at sending out their CDs. It's been 2+ weeks and I still haven't received them....they're cheap...but I want my damn CDS!

Lullacry is pretty awesome! I love the way they sound, definatly a different kinda sound than Ev and thats great! I love seeing the same set up as a band (in this case, a girl lead and the other guys), but hearing them do different stuff, instead of all being the same. Thats why I love rock music woot!

Yeah I love The Autumn...such a beautiful song! And 'Alone' is one of my favs of the first album. Too bad it is OOP

I really like this band. Then again I like heavy metal bands with female lead singers. But I think they are really great.

I bought the 'crucify my heart' album last week. its really good.
hopefully they'll come to graspop this year, id love to see them live!

I LOVE Lullacry! I heard of them at the beginning of this year and fell in love with "Don't Touch the Flame" immediately.

I have almost every CD of theirs... except "Sweet Desire." I'm hoping they can get it re-released soon, but as far as I can tell the people who hold rights to SD aren't too willing to re-release it... :(

I don't normally like comparing the big female fronted bands of today such as ev, NIghtwish, Lacuna Coil, Sonata Arctica etc....... but I think that if somone could let me know what they are like it would help. They do sound like nightwish but they are catchier.They are sort of the new nightwish but they sound a little different from them.Lullacry's sound it goth/rock/metal.Hope this helps

I don't think it's very accurate to compare Nightwish and Lullacry. I like both to a degree, I wouldn't say either is worse but they're not alike. Nightwish is classical, very powerful, epic sort of metal, Lullacry is heavier, rockier, the singer is very different. Tarja is very classical in her tones and Tanja has a lower tone, not the opera kind, there's this hint of malice, irony in Tanja's voice. I'd say, think about combining Going Under, Anything for You and Whisper and maybe you're close to Lullacry. Forget Nightwish, they're not the same at all. If you know Rasputina, Lullacry has something in common with it, especially with the vocals. Lullacry isn't as romanticly gothic as Ev and Nightwish, it's dark, gothic rock. It's bit more "party" music or something.

And btw, Sonata Arctica? Female fronted? Whuh? Since when?

yea nightwish and lullacry sound very different imo. ive liked this band for a while but since i cant find their cd anywhere but online so i've only heard a few songs

Lullacry is not like Nightwish.

They make good music, but they have change the singer like 4 times and noone of them really doesn't fits in Lullacry.

Even though of that, I'm gonna buy their CD.

Lullacry is alright, but I've only listened to two songs, so I can't judge. My favorite Lullacry song is probably 'Heart of Darkness'.

I read somewhere that the old lead singer of Lullacry has the same name as the new lead singer. Ironic.

The only things in common between Lullacry and Nightwish are a female singer and their nationality ;) . The music is very different. Lullacry is like rock-metal band with very catchy songs, and Nightwish are symphonic/power metal. And I like Lullacry a lot. The new singer, Tanja is better than the old one (Tanya. Ironic, isn't it? Almost the same name :D ).

I don't think Lullacry sound anything like Nightwish. For one thing, Tarja and Tanja have two very different voices. The music is also quite different - compare Crucify my Heart to Once, and you'll find few similarities.

But I still like evanescence better..:D

i friend of mine gave a cd with some musics from vanilla ninja and Lullacry and i just fell in love.
Lullacry its perfect! i really love the guitars.. they rock.
