.bin is an archive format, you can open it with stuffit expander.

But by saying that it is a mac archive format, there's a 99.99% possibility that the program inside the .bin file is a Mac program.
Damn damn damn damn >>..<<
Thanks for the answer :D

bin files are also very common on the PC, used for creating CD images that can be loaded onto virtual devices, or burnt back to a CD. CD images are platform independent for the most part (depending on the software available to you)
A CD image is a container so I am going to assume you are talking about the same thing?
Or is it different on a Mac ?

We also have .bin image containers, but mainly those are .toast or .dmg files for us.
.bin is pretty out of date for us as a file format though, I don't see them very often... it was popular under OS 9, but rare under OS X. tar, gz, and zip are more common for us now, and hqx has retained some popularity.

Did you download it and if so does it have a .cue file with it?

Yes and yes it does.

Sounds like a CD image made in CDRWin
Or any other program that is able to create bin/cue cd images.
;-)
Unless there is some strange bin/cue thing for Macs I don't know about.
You can either unpack all the data from the bin file, or burn it with a program that supports bin/cue files.

Are you actually on a mac or a PC? If you are on a PC and have nero you should be able to burn the file directly to CD using Nero.

.Bin is usually a cd-image, so you need Daemon tools (virtual dvd/cd rom drive) or cd burner to burn it to a disc. If you don't know how to do either of these things, post here and I'll walk you through it (it would help if you told which size the file is to give a clue what kind of file it is).

Since you're asking in a thread related to Mac's I'll assume that somehow the file is realted to Mac's in which case if it's a archive you might want to try Stuff-It Expander (http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/index.html). You have to downlaod the trial version of Stuff-It to get the free exander, but the expander continues working when the trial is up.
But then of course that's what this thread started out talking about so I assume you alread tried it.

It's a cd-image, it can contain whatever was on the original cd. Think of it has a huge zip containing everything that was on the cd.
