This idea came up in the After Forever thread. At first, it was meant in a joking way. Then Laurie (dodididodo) and I thought it could actually be fun.
So, like the title says, we'd mainly focus on Dutch female fronted bands. That because we need this meeting to difference from the Evparty quite a bit. If we make it a general Female Fronted Bands Meeting, it would get closer to the European Evparty and that's just not fair. And I have to add: no one take this in an insulting way (refferring to the Evparty).
The bands we were thinking of (there aren't THAT many either :p) :
After Forever
Autumn
Epica
Within Temptation
Asrai,...
That way, we do not need to decide what country we want it to be at. It'd be The Netherlands for sure. I honestly think that's quite a step forward, something we wouldn't have to deal with/think about.
Laurie & I (of course) thought of seeing one of the bands (or more. hah) live the same day/weekend/period the meeting takes places.
I need to say that every fan of a female fronted band fan, no matter which one, is welcome. Whether you like Nightwish, LC, whatever non-Dutch band, it'd be cool to have you there. Cause it all comes down on the same type of music, in the end! But we'd just be seeing Dutch bands only, like I've said.
Oh and, this meeting will of course be quite small! Heh.

I am anxious to see if anyone is interested in doing this. It sure sounds like fun! And I'm sure me and Julie can make this work out. :)
We were thinking it would probably be best if we made this a weekend long. Since the meeting will not be that big a weekend should be enough.
It'll be awesome to get to meet some people off this board in person! :)

Maybe the best time to do it would be the MFVF as the name says, but well, there's time to see when it'd be better!

Lol your post made me wonder about a few things. Would you want the meeting to be AT the Metal Female Voices Fest? Or would we first go to MFV and then Holland ? :p I thought it'd be cool for you guys to see a bit of Holland too! Yeah Ony's seen it already, but what the hell :p

Most propably yeah!
But they should come and speak for themselves!!
But from my personal experience (MFVF) even 4 months earlier didn't work much (bags-hotel-taxi!)
