Thier CD "Songs about Jane" is without question one of the best (if not THE best) CD released this year. Their first single "Harder to breathe" was great but its really the rest of the CD that defines this band. They have a pretty unique sound that mixes straight up rock with elements of hip hop, R&B, jazz and funk. Thier sound is kind of like a throwback to a 70's band brought up to date with a fresh spin on it. In a stagnant music scene where everything is starting to sound alike and get boring, I think they're a great change of pace, anyone else into them?

my friend told me about them a year ago. they're ok .. but they're not really my kind of band. i like "through with you" and "shiver". "tangled" is a little too nsync-ish for my liking though .. but that's just me.

I was first intrigued by maroon 5 when i went to see eva at buzzfest. I was pretty impressed.

I got Songs About Jane today. It's so catchy it makes me want to puke. I'm afraid it might be too catchy, the kind of album I'll play the shit out of within the first few weeks, so I can't listen to it anymore.

Great album though. Five seconds into "Harder to Breathe" I was already bopping my head along in the car. I really like Adam's voice a lot, and the record has a lot of funk and soul to it.

I like em, though I dont really think they are an indie band anymore.

you should try and get hold of their album, its got 12 songs on it, thats 10 new ones that you havnt heard ;) you can probably find it on Amazon :)

As far as being released to American radio, the song will be released June 1st. The video probably won't be coming out for a while after that, too.

Well that whole song is about sex.

They edited two parts of the song. One is "I tried my best to feed her appetite. Keep her coming every night." (They edited out "coming"). The other is "My pressure on your hips. Sinking my fingertips." (They edited out "sinking"). <---I think both of those parts should be edited out. They are very sexual indeed. Especially the first one.

Yeah... but it's just innuendo. There's worse things on the Discovery Health channel that isn't edited. It's just strange. If they should censor the video, then the radio should censor it as well. But they don't. And there's no PA label on the album, so... that's my point.

As a matter of fact, they do censor the song on SOME radio stations. The lyrics "keep her coming every night" and also "my pressure on your hips". However, it is only SOME stations.

First, they will be working on a remix for their #1 song This Love and it features Chi-town rapper/producer Kanye West (IMHO, he's released the best album of the year that I've listened to so far this year in any genre)

They will also be doing a song for the Spiderman 2 soundtrack.

I know Maroon 5 since February 2004 and I like this band, they're pretty cool !

I fianlly got their album legally yesterday and it's a version with a bonus track, 2 acoustic tracks and the Kayne West remix of This Love. The album is really good. There's not a song I dislike.

(jk, lol) He has an amazing voice too, Im so sick of hearing shitty voices from all these punk bands. ie: Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, sry if anyone likes them. I watched them perform live on TRL, it was amazing. It was "She Will Be Loved" acoustic, and it sounded magnificent! He sings so good live, even Carson Daly was like "Woah..guys that was really good, really." They have come to be one of my favorite bands. :D :D

hehe, actually i don't especially like Adam's voice...but i don't turn off the radio when they come on either. It's not my type of music, but i'd sure as hell rather have people obsessing over them than some of these other crappy pop groups that can't even read music. At least they know the definition of a song, and know how to play them too. One thing though: I can't stand "This Love". It drives me insane. "She Will be loved" is pretty.

I love Maroon5 ^_^. Adam has a great voice...but the only thing I don't really like about is that it gets 'trembly' sometimes...and that doesn't really sound nice sometimes.. But overall its cool. I love their lyrics/songs ^_^! Both Amy and Adam (yay double A..batteries o_O) have awesome voices..but I dont see them doing a duet that soon...theyre voices just dont...help each other out?

Harder to Breathe and This Love were actually great, and I'm not normally into some obvious band selected for their female fan and pop music appeal. She Will Be Loved isn't as good as the other two, but it's okay... I like hearing This Love in clubs, it really livens me up. So yeah, they're pretty upbeat, kinda groovy.

basically, it's supposed to be that this guy has fallen head-over-heels in love with his girlfriend's mom. the line "beauty queen of only eighteen" is probably referring to how she is/was this beautiful girl who was forced into marrying that assface of a husband at an early age with him being a lot older than she is/was. the guy that Adam portrays watches and sees how he abuses and neglects her, but he sees how beautiful she really is. he still cares about his girlfriend, but he's just captivated by her mom in such a different way. in the end of the video, she runs off because she's fallen in love with him too and just can't take seeing him with anyone else. her own daughter, no less. he goes after her because he also decides that he can't pretend anymore, but will definitely have some explaining to do when the his girlfriend/her daughter comes out after them and sees them nearly kissing. i didn't understand how that happened twice, though. i guess she caught them the first time, and just decided to ignore it...?

Kelly Preston was hot. Was she not the one in the movieTwins? i often wonder why women get the whole huge hair style thing when they get older. Surely having it straight makes you look younger.

I don't think for awhile just because I'm pretty sure they just finished their tour, which ended in Spain. Though they most likely will do another, though no dates have been released as of yet. :)

In my opinion, I don't like Maroon 5. I used to love them when 'This Love' came out, omg, I can't begin to tell you how obsessed with that song I was! But after two weeks or so, I was so sick of it, it was so annoying! It was being played everywhere, on Vh1 and MTV video spins, every freakin hits radio station, I couldn't escape it! If they weren't so freakin overplayed, I would so like them more! I kinda like 'She Will Be Loved', but it's just so repeatative...I don't think this is a good band to get too attached to (please don't stone me for saying that! :( ), because I just find that their songs are very repeatative and annoying after awhile...But I guess some people like them, and some people like me, don't.

Yeah, they will sell out pretty quickly. I'm hoping I get a good chance to get some tickets to their up-coming tour. Whever that is, though.

I've found some pretty good, legit, ticket deals on E-Bay. One Evanescence one before. The person might not have been too good with math, being as they were Three Floor tickets for $193.00. That's a deal! If I had lived in that state, I would have defiatley bought them, no doubt!

they were in OH about a week before Ev was this summer. i wish i could've gone, but i didn't get there until a couple days before the Ev concert anyway *shrugs*.

That's weird, I've been doing that, too. Every 'new' song I've been hearing, I'm all 'Ew, I don't like this!". Then, the second time I hear it, it's stuck in my head and I love it. I'm confusing.. heh. =/

I absolutely ADORE Maroon 5. I saw them live a little while after Songs About Jane came out, before that many people had really heard of them, and they just blew me away. I went out and bought the CD the next day. They sound even better live then they do on the CD. I am so in love with Adam's voice. And I completely relate to all of their songs. I hope a new album isn't too far off in the future. My favorite songs of theirs are Shiver, Tangled, Sunday Morning, Through With You, and The Sweetest Goodbye (that one makes me cry sometimes.) I also really do like This Love and She Will Be Loved, but they got so overplayed that I got sick of them.

Dusting off a really dirty thread :) I just picked up their new album today "It won't be soon before long" I've never been a fan of theirs, and until their latest releases I couldn't name you a single M5 song but for some reason this album has some appeal to me. I love "Makes me wonder" and "Wake up call." I am more of a rock kinda guy so to have Maroon 5 appeal to me is odd but I guess our musical tastes are always changing. Anyone else like them or no?

How is their new album? I adore Songs About Jane, but I've only heard Makes Me Wonder from their new album, and I'm not one to get an album based on one song.

Well, there are 12 songs on their new album and I dig 9 of them and there is another one that will grow on me so we'll make that 10. I am like you, I hate to spend money on a cd and then only like the one or two songs that have been released and the rest be crap but I think if you like Makes me wonder then you'll like most the rest of the cd.

Maroon 5 has gotta be one of my favorites to blast in the car; they're sound makes you wanna move, some make you wanna break stuff, and some are just so sexy! I love Adam's vibrato; it's one of the many things that sounds like he's really loving performing the song and that he's excited. The lyrics are catchy, but very clever and sensual. Songs About Jane was the best; they've new one sounds kinda too pop-ish for me, but still catchy.

I loke Maroon 5, they have a nice beat to their music!! I have one song that has alot of meaning to me, "SHE WILL BE LOVED", I love that song!! I like alot of otheres as well! I like thier style, and sound!!:smile:
