I'm in two minds about it... I like Peter Kay usually, but I don't like it when he's just plain vulgar. Same with all his shows, live stand-up, everything. He's great at everything else but sometimes he does stuff which is just pointless and crass.
Like, that scene right at the very end of the show with Paddy watching porn on the big TV... there was just no need for that and I really didn't see how that could be ammusing. Then again when he's pricking about dancing and whatever, it was good.
So, I think as long as it doens't get really crass, I'll probably keep watching it. If it gets really vulgar though then I don't see how it could keep going.

I absolutely HATE Peter Kay so... no, didn't watch it! Am not a fan of stand-up comedy either, so watching his stand up wouldn't make me want to watch this programme....

dont get me wrong, i think jim carrey is hysterical, but his humour is so obviouisly funny, whereas Peter Kay's is much more suble...yet twice as funny *pheonix nights perf. example* but thats jst my opinion.
I hate Ricky Gervais though. I really like the Office, but his stand ups are awfuL!! I think he is too one dimensional, he can only be funny on the one level - which is funny initially, but after what 4 stand up DVD's (if not, more than that) two seasons of The Office plus a christmas special it all seems a bit too bland.

I find Gervais really funny. Not as good as Peter Kay, but all the same he's one funny guy. Max And Paddy is the funniest thing that I've seen on TV for a while.

Jimmy Carr is dumb :P His jokes arent amusing at all. Well actually thats a bit harsh. I watched him once (On tv somewhere..dont ask me when) and I laughed once or twice but with Peter Kay (his live stuff..didnt find pheonix nights that funny at all)...Damn. Has anyone ever laughed so hard they fell off their chair and rolled around on the floor gasping for breath? Well..Thats what I did :embarrassed: At his 'one dips' and hob nob jokes on live at the Royal Albert Halls (i think it was there, cant remember).
I havent actually seen one episode of Max and Paddy yet..Ive set the alarm on my phone for this friday at 9:30 though so I dont forget to watch the next ep.
