I searched for a Halo or Halo 2 thread but I couldn't find one! So I figured I would start one myself, seeing as how Halo is one of the best games ever and Halo 2 will be the best game ever when it comes out. :D

Is anyone here a big Halo fan? If not you should really check it out. If you don't like the single player Campaign mode then you would definately like the multiplayer mode. I could (and have) played multiplayer Halo for hours on end.

If anyone plays online (Halo PC), I always play under either Qweedle Guy or BrianMcCraw.

Halo 2 looks REALLY badass. I really can't wait for this game. Something is supposedly happening on August 24th, and many people are hoping for a demo of some sort.

That's a hell of a lot of copies! I remember reading a couple days ago that there are over 700,000 copies reserved either nationwide or worldwide. Microsoft is shipping 1 million copies at the initial release and expect to sell 5 million within the first 6 months.

I tried playing Halo online a couple of times.. I got my ass KICKED all the times. I am just as happy playing against the boys when we have halo night and there is 4xboxes hooked up its sweet. But i keep seeing articles about Halo2 it just keeps getting better~

Halo 2 is going to pwn all games. In addition to everything you said, the vehicles will also be destructible! So no more spawn camping in a ghost. And environments will also be destructible. And the coolest thing ever is you can hijack someone else's vehicle! As long as they're going slow enough or stopped, you can hope on and kick them off of their vehicle and use it for yourself!

Bungie aren't planning on making Halo 2 for PC yet, but you never really know. Halo didn't even come out for the PC until one or two years after the Xbox version came out. You should just go out and get yourself an Xbox! :p I hear they're pretty cheap nowadays.

You should definately consider getting an Xbox. They've got plenty of great games other than Halo and Halo 2. Your cousin is right too, after you get used to using the controllers you would be a lot better at playing on the Xbox.

Yeah, theres a lot of games I play on my cousins Xbox that I'd love to be able to have at home. Plus I've been waiting so long for Doom 3 only to find out my PC has no chance of playing it, so once the Xbox version comes out thats another huge reason for me to get one

Yeah, I saw the I love Bees thing. It is just Bungie's idea of a joke. Probably not a great idea to joke with angry gamers that have been waiting for this game since November 2001, but still. I can almost guaruntee you that August 24th, aside from being the day that 12 Stones releases their sophomore effort, will be the day Xbox Live 3.0 is released.

Halo 2 comes out on Nov. 9th or Nov. 11th for the UK. It does NOT come out on Aug 24th. You know what does come out on Aug. 24th? Some OXM special which does NOT, and I repeat does NOT have a Halo 2 demo on it. No clue how that rumor gained so much momentum. But to reiterate, Halo 2 comes out Nov. 9th or Nov.11th for the UK.

Well any Xbox you buy these days doesn't come with those big ass controllers because, everyone hates them. They come with the much smaller, more comfortable Controller-S (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/hardware/xboxcontroller-s.htm). ;)

Iunno, I've just never been this obsessed with ANYTHING. And I've never liked video games that much at all. It just seems ridiculous to me to be so obsessed with a game. Playing it lots if you have the time, OK. But staying up all night and throwing "Halo parties" that's just a tad too obsessive.

Me and a friend went to EB Games last night to see if they sell import games. It was unusual that the store was open at 11 pm till we saw the HALO 2 sign. We went in and there were 5 or 6 people already waiting for midnight! Not even playing the game that was right next to them, waiting I guess. That's kind of crazy.

We left as soon as I pointed out to his slow ass that there was a cop right there :rolleyes: it's not good to be there when you smell like some ganja shit..

I do need to try to play the game sometime cause I've never played Halo 1 or 2 befo. All I know is that it's a shooting game in space or something.

hahahaha my hubby almost cried when he had to go back to work. It was like he couldn't let go. But it was good for me so now i have my time to play!!

My husband is soo into Halo/Halo 2. His birthday was last Friday and on Saturday I threw a huge party for him that we called "Halocaust". It wasn't easy to find items to decorate with but we were able to make it work. We went with Red vs. Blue (capture the flag) and it was awesome. We were even able to capture a screen shot from Halo PC of a spot in the game the guys always play...made and 8 x 10 photo of it and then took it to Baskin Robbins...who then made it into a cake transfer! It turned out so cool and after their bellies were full they were able able to go to the big screen TV and play Halo 2 until midnight....the party started at 1pm!

I got Halo 2 the weekend it was released. I haven't put it down since. It is the best game ever. The story is so involving, it's just incredible. I want XBOX Live now :(

I just played it this past weekend. Not all that impressed. Probably, imo, 2nd most overrated game Ive ever played. It looked okay- it was very interactive, easy to play. The coolest thing, IMO, is stealing enemy vehicles. Thats about where it stops. Cheesy grunt military voice acting and off lip-synching is sorta laughable. Also, a few unnecessary little solo missions- and...is your character some super breed of soldier?

Overall, its...okay. Thats about it.

Stealing the enemy vehicles is fun. I don't know how they can get lip synching for the Elites, seeing as no one really knows how an Elite's lips move, but the lip synching for the marines is a very minor thing. I like the phrases they come out with if you just stand next to them and look at them.

Ummm, yeah. . .your character is a top of the line military cyborg. As far as Halo the original goes, great game, very innovative for it's time. Halo 2 in my opinion has FAR surpassed the original. The calibre of voice talent alone is incredible. Also the story is quite epic as it unfolds. I played through most of the levels VERY entusiastically JUST to see what would happen next. Didn't expect ANYTHING like the Arbiter missions. The music (soundtrack) is THE best video game soundtrack I have EVER heard. Now those who are complaining that some of the synching was off etc etc etc, well they DID push the game back MANY times JUST so that they could have a superior product, we would have had to wait probably another 2 years to get this thing as perfect as possible. I've been through the game 2 time (easy and normal) I am currently at the tail end of heroic. Now, one thing i noticed is the different bits of dialogue. As the difficulty levels progress, some different things ARE said by the Sarge and others. I think to truly appreciate this game you HAVE to go through. Also, the death-match mode on Online is nothing short of insane. I am QUITE impressed with the game, especially the story (lotsa nice twists.)

I couldn't agree with you more and my husband would say the same!! He has finished easy and normal and starting heroic. He is completely enjoying it and I am having a fun time watching him as well. I love some of the off beat comments the people around you will say sometimes...."Did I give you permission to bitch Marine!!" I was laughing my butt off!

Plus the added bonus of the Xbox Live play is wonderful. My husband and his friends get together every Saturday (8-10 guys) and play each other. My husband is getting better but before it was hard for him to practice without having everyone there. Now he can just log on to his Live account and practice with tons of people anytime he wants. His game is improving tons!!

I played Halo 2 for 8 straight hours without getting up (although I'm sure some of the people on here have got me beaten by a lot...) with 3 X-Boxes hooked up and 12 players playing... that was the first time I played it too. It was my friend's, and I think I'm getting it for Christmas. It was so much fun! I loved it.

It was a LAN party and I was the only girl there.. haha. They made fun of me.

i have head they do but i dont know if i believe it, though my friend assures me its true. apparently if you do it on legendary at end of credits it tells you halo 3 will be out in febuary 2005, as apparently halo was so big when they had completed it they decided to cut the game into two. things that support this is in all the orignally demos of the game the conflict was set on earth in heavy conflicts with the covernet completely invading SPOILER like at the end of the game not just the skirmish you get at the begining. none of these were in the actually game. however against this is you d expect it to be everywhere on the net + it woudnt be a full sequel just an expansion pack really but meh

i have head they do but i dont know if i believe it, though my friend assures me its true. apparently if you do it on legendary at end of credits it tells you halo 3 will be out in febuary 2005, as apparently halo was so big when they had completed it they decided to cut the game into two. things that support this is in all the orignally demos of the game the conflict was set on earth in heavy conflicts with the covernet completely invading SPOILER like at the end of the game not just the skirmish you get at the begining. none of these were in the actually game. however against this is you d expect it to be everywhere on the net + it woudnt be a full sequel just an expansion pack really but meh


The DVD i the special edition of Halo 2 pretty much negates that particular theory. For starters, all that "footage" that had been shown was from a demo reel that Bungie conjured up to show to the people at E3. You'll notice that there's a good amount of footage that takes place in levels we'd already seen in Halo 2 (primarily the scene that's on the city streets and such.) Maybe a glance at the DVD in the special edition might be enlightening. Now I don't claim to be a know it all. . .and I "could" be wrong, but ya never know. The thing about Halo 3 bing out in February 2005, I dunno if I can believe that. Bungie had no prior knowledge of exactly how big the game would be at the time they shipped to stores (which was at least a month prior to the actual hard release date.) an expansion pack is a possibility, but again. . .I just don't know if I can believe that. IF they do Halo 3 it would be in their best interest to take as much time and effort as they did with Halo 2.

finished it on normal and halfway thru on heroic, was just getting into the storyline and then bam! credits - whens Halo 3? Feb 2005? dont bank on it

p.s Halo 2 rawks. Havent been on campaign as much as I thought I would because we're hooked to Live :p loving the gauss warthog..

I use to play Halo all the time. Once we get an Xbox I'll be back to playing it. I'm not sure if we'll get Halo2, but I do love the game.

I'm loving the game so far. The only complaint I can really make is that all the texture pop-up. While it's sloppy, I stopped paying attention to it though.

OXM was the first to report about Halo 2.5 revealing that the game is planned as an Xbox 2 launch title but now you’re going to read the very first details, straight from one of our most trusted sources:

“Halo 2.5 will be an Xbox 2 launch title and is going to run in HDTV resolution with new, improved textures and graphical effects. All the stuff that people expected from Halo 2 but didn’t make the cut will be there.”
