Wow, its been a while since ive updated my thread! :D Ok, well, the drawing of Amy I posted in the fan art thread and it is my most recent amy drawing. The horse...I drew that when I was 12 :p and the manga drawing Ive been working on this week and finished it today...go easy on me its only my second manga drawing :) Sorry it took me so long to update my thread, and thanks again to everyone who has commented, it means a lot to me :)

This one is my fav. Difficult vantage point. I think this is a great drawing esp the eyes.

All I can say is that now I'm green with envy.. in a good way of course. :D Your drawings aren't too specific.. they are kinda dream like but sill looking very real. And Amy's eyes.. you've captured them perfectly.
And I love your photoshop work! They are like from a fairytale with beautiful colors. I'd love to see more of your work.

Im hoping to one day post my piano and vocal covers; but every file uploading site ive tried so far hasent worked with my stupid AOL. It basically freezes every time I try to upload something...even if the file size isnt big. So far Ive tried rapidshare, yousendit, angelfire, acid planet, myfilestash, streamload...and most likely some others as well. Its very frustrating:mad: Anyways...again I want to thank everyone who has commented...it really does mean a lot to me.;)

These two are my favourites. You have a very good eye for colour. The second one I like because it really captures Amy's cute side!

I got the house to myself for a while today, so I recorded 3 vocal covers; Within Temptation's Somewhere, Nightwish's Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan, and Sarah Mclachlan's Angel. I uploaded them on Acid Planet because I finally found a program that can convert my mp3 files into wma format. I recommend listening to the Within Temptation cover first. About the Nightwish cover- I dont speak Finnish, obviously, so it was hard for me. I have never taken singing lessons and I know im not very good, but I would appreciate you listening to them and commenting/giving conctructive critisism. Wow. You have such a pretty voice. You are a great singer. My favorite is the Sarah McLachlan cover that you did. You did that very nicely. There was a little echo in the background but other then that is was just amazing.

Thanks spiderfall:D Colored pencils were impossible for me to work with at first, but I improved the more I drew with them. About the graphics- I actually dont cut the figure out and paste it onto a new background, MOST of the time I just blend the pictures I want together and work on top of that. But there are a few exceptions, like the Within Temptation Angels banner for example.

You're beyond welcome, Ali. Thank you, as well. I don't think you need graphic lessons... you have talent there, too. The best advice I can give is to practice. I know it doesn't give you much, but I don't know what else to say other than that. Haha.

Sorry for not replying to this thread sooner, Ive had tons of family over recently...and I got a bit busy. Ive also been busy getting ready for school and such.

Anyhoo, Wickedness, Ive searched everywhere I can think of for a good picture of Otep to draw from...and Ive had no luck:( The ones I have come across are pretty small...and never really clear. If you can help me find one, it would be greatly appreciated;)

You are astounding! Looking at your work, I assumed it would take you a day or more to complete one portrait. I say this because, well, take a look at your work! Everything that you create is right in every aspect. Yet again, I applaud you for a job well done.

Yes, I use mechanical pencils most of the time. In darker areas, I sometimes will use charcoal. I also use smudge sticks a lot...to smooth out the pencil and charcoal.:)

Okay, a little update, heres the fallen angel drawing I did for the Visual Artist Monthly thread. I added some coloring in photoshop as well. I lack imagination, so it isnt that great.

You may not think it's that great, but I think it's amazing. Sometimes simplicity is better. I really think this is a rather beautiful drawing.

Okay, I dont really like the way they came out, maybe its just me:confused: The Otep one...came out strange in my opinion. I think I'm way too use to drawing from huge HQ photos so when I draw from a normal size one...it tends to come out sucky:o Its just that with smaller photos, its harder because I cant see all of the details and its hard to space everything right. The Eliza one came out a little better, because I drew it from a HUGE picture.

Anyhoo, I start school tomorow, so I can't be doing any requests because my school is very demanding with homework and all. I'll be doing a portrait every once in a while for practice though.

Wow, the hair and eyes are great. Your style is clean, I like that, and the shapes are really good. The only advice I can give is try to shade more. It'll take practice, practice and more practice and you'll become more 'daring' in the process.. but trust me, it'll be worth it. (if you compare my first portrait drawings to my latest that becomes really really obvious haha)

detail.freak- Thanks! Yeah, shading the skin especially has proven to be my weakest point. I do spend time shading it...but most of it gets lost in the scan. I'll try shading a little darker next time and see if that helps. Also, I suck at shading noses, I'll try my best to improve that next time. :)

Ali, your work is great. I don't know shit about music, so this comment might be useless (but whatever)... I think that your voice has great potential. It's very good, but not quite there... if you get what I'm saying... I guess it's just to my ears though. I really think that you could do a lot more with your voice and could control it a lot better. (I probably just infuriated thousands of voice and music lovers out there that actually know the lingo I should be using, but shh... I admit my ignorance!)

Your drawings are incredibly good. You have a great way of capturing detail, and I like the way you've done the eyes on nearly all of your drawings. They're done very well. The only criticism that I would have is that in the first few you posted, the proportions of the noses and (the outline of the) face looked off a bit to me. However, based on a lot of your recent works, you've definitely shown a lot of improvement on that - which I commend you for - it looks great. It's absolutely wonderful how much you draw, because that's how you improve... practice drawing... and you're doing a lot of that. I could even tell some of the minor flaws you made in earlier drawings, were not as prominent in later ones... you're heading in a great direction.

I was curious as to exactly what medium you were using in all of those. If it was some kind of pencil/charcoal pencil - which sizes have you been using? And have you used colored pencils at all? I'm so retarded at being able to tell something simple like that... and I really should know, it's embarrassing.

I'm extremely jealous of your photoshop work though. Damn you for being able to have the patience to learn how to use that treacherous program ::spits on photoshop:: it's just so awful to me. (Though I admit, I don't try very hard anymore ^.^; ) Anyway, keep up the fantastic work, and be sure to post more of your stuff... it really is great.

I already submitted this on DeviantArt, but I decided to go ahead and post it on here as well. This is a photomanipulation I did. I basically put a lot of different pictures together and edited/painted it until it came out how I liked. This is based on the verse from My Last Breath:
"I'll miss the winter,

THAT is a gorgeous photograph. How brave of you to tackle something so breath-taking in its original form. I can easily now understand why you were so motivated to do a drawing on it. You did a very nice job having to go off of something like that... trying to duplicate a photograph like that, lol... and in just pencil and charcoal... anyone would be intimidated.

Oh, and to answer BlackMagic's question, yes they are things I find out and about. The feathers were found in my backyard, and the flower is actually the flower of a potted cactus that's in my house, I just took it outside to photograph it.

Hey Ali, I'm really digging your photographs. Too bad I didn't live closer to ya. I'd comission you to take some pics of my daughter. You have a great eye for composition. I havn't read the thread, just checked out the photos and drawings, so you may have already answered this. But what type of camera do you use? Do you use a digital camera or a standard 35mm camera. You are very talented with your drawings and with your photography, don't slow down.

Those new photos are beautiful. They're like cotton wool.

So, I had some time to record me playing the piano today so I went ahead and did that. The first song I recorded is 'Yuna's Ballad' from Final Fantasy X-2, which was originally composed and played by Nobuo Uematsu. Then I recorded the first part of the origin version of Imaginary, and also some parts of other random evanescence songs. Right now I'm learning two other Final Fantasy songs that will be recorded when I learn them completely. If you want to hear a preview of one of them, I recorded that as well. I still have to work on the timing and notes for that one, not to mention learning the rest, but eh. I'm not the best at piano, go easy on me. -_-

I really like these new photos. Even though I’m usually not a very big fan of infrared photography, I think that “Eden” and especially “Serenity” look great. The combination of the branches and the clouds in “Serenity” creates a very nice effect.

Also, your piano recordings sound pretty good!

These images have stunning clarity and hues in particular the still life images. I think the fourth piece is the strongest because of the asymmetrical composition. To be sure the others are great but are static due to the exact centering of the subject in the image.

The image of the stones is a wonderful study of light and texture! It was hard to take my eyes off of it.

I'd love to see your eye for portraiture...

Whee, new art!

Okay, this is my very first digital painting. I painted it with my Wacom tablet I got a few months ago. I started working on this late last night and finished it tonight. How long it took exactly I'm not sure. In the original photograph it's sort of hard to see what she's wearing, so I couldn't put much detail into the clothing. Oh, and I didn't paint over the original photograph, just used it as a visual reference. Anyways, constructive critisism is very welcome as I'm just learning how to do this. Hope you all like it. =]

This was drawn with a mechanical pencil with .5 size lead and took around 10 hours. Hope you all like it! :)
