i dont' know about being alone. it COULD be okay. having only yourself to worry about. anyways. i think the scariest thing in this world is a squirrel. i hate squirrels. AND spiders.

I think the only thing I'm really terrified of would be drowing or any kind of death that involves lots of pain first.

You should come to my school -- the squirrels here are infamous for their malice towards people. They actually hurl acorns at peoples heads and chase people...you'd be scared to death! ;)

The things that scare me are spiders and snakes (I am utterly terrified, and not in an "Ooh! I'm a girl! Save me from the slimy thing!" kind of way, but a deep, mortal terror. I can't abide them! :( ) The only other thing that scares me would be losing a family member, through death or having someone go missing. My brother wandered off a few years ago, and he was gone for 8 hours without a word to any of us. It was getting dark, and no one in the neighborhood had seen him and I was panicstricken. I was searching the woods and streams to make sure he hadn't tripped and hurt himself, but I was so afraid he'd been kidnapped. I just remember my heart beating so hard and fast that I thought I would pass out. It was the scariest time of my life. After he turned up I was so relieved -- he'd just gone for a really long walk. :rolleyes: I swear, I wanted to strap a GPS chip to that kid after that... ;)

bugs.. i just cant deal with them (with the exception of a few like lightning bugs, butterflies, etc.).. umm old men sometimes scare me (the freaky type that like to look u up & down a few times), bees im TERRIFED of bees & losing my daughter (though that will NEVER happen)

Waking up and no one being there. Everyone in the world having gone and just you being left.

When I was in the Maldives I had this dream and I was on an island called 'Suicide Island' and there were traps EVERYWHERE. spikes coming up from your bed and deadly snakes in your shoes and sharks in the pool etc. Anyway, there were 100 people on the island and there were 99 traps, and I was number100 and I didn't die. So I was on this island, no one knew where I was, I couldn't get saved, I couldn't die (don't know why I just couldn't), and I was surrounded my all these 99 dead people, including my friends and family. It was a horrible dream, but luckily I woke up on Filahohi island with no dead people, so it's all good :)

Several things, i'm a real scaredy cat. I don't like scary movies, example, The Ring freaked me out. I have to sleep with my tv on, and for months couldn't sleep without seeing the girl come out of my tv. Two, I ahte being in an empty house at night. I hear all sorts of noises that aren't there. Three, clowns. They're just evil looking. That's all for now, but i'm sure i'll be adding some more.

WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! I hate silver fish! I used to find them in my shower all the time and it used to creep me out big time!

I'm scared of fish. I hate the way that they can't blink and have big eyes. I'm alright with small, goldfish type fish, but not the bigger fish you get in aquariums and stuff. The same goes for whales, squids, dolphins, eels and sharks. Especially dolphins. This was not helped by, when I told my Dad, he took me to an aquarium with sharks (albiet little ones) and made me watch them being fed, and they were splashing around. I don't mind rays, though. They have smiley faces so look cute and nice, and unscary small eyes. :)

I'm scared of dolphins because they're so like people - they gang rape and murder others in the group, and have their own language which we can't understand. And it just scares me because they're so intelligent, and they're probably threatening. Just the idea of swimming with dolphins makes me feel shakey and sick (it is starting to now).

Moving on, I also hate low ceilings - I'm not claustraphobic, because I don't mind small rooms. It's just low ceilings. I get really frightened and think the room is closing in on me, and duck down (and this is going by my scale of what's "low down," not everyone else's, so even being close to a high ceiling scares me).

I also hate steep stairs and ladders. I hate ladders because they wobble around and they really don't feel stable, and I always think I'm going to fall through. And usually ladders go up to lofts - which are usually by staircases. So looking down seems even higher up than you really are. And lofts are also on my scary list (due to the whole unstable floor and low ceiling thing).

I'm also scared of big crowds of people. I've gotten better, gradually (going on public transport everyday meant I kinda had to!) and no longer have panic attacks, but I still avoid them if possible. I just feel really self-conscious around them and as though people will stare at me, and that they're judging me (although I'm sure they're not).

I also am scared of moths - I just hate the way they fly around, you can't tell where they're going to go. Same with Daddy Long Legs.

There's others, but um they're the main ones. Most of the others just make me uncomfortable.

just got stung by one of those mother fuckers a couple weeks ago...in the thigh. I was inside sitting on my bed and I moved and felt that pinch and was like "WTF?" and I smacked at it...on impulse..I still have a mark...Ohh..it hurt like a BITCH!!

I know this might sounded big-headed and all, but honestly can't find a single thing to be scared of. Infact, I'm only scared of being afraid, which basically means I'm afraid of fear. Which is sensible really, because why be afraid of anything else? Fear is the feeling of being afraid and helpless, and that's what I hate.

Remember when the thing jumps out of the egg and attaches itself to Jon Hurt's face. Well it had these long jointed legs that it was gripping his head with. They look JUST like crab legs to me.

I'm not usually squeamish, but if I see them in a grocery store case, or a restaurant commercial, or wherever, it just creeps me out!

In reality I try not to be scared of anything. But I am. So, I think that I have that to work on..

Static electricity scares the shit out of me...that's pretty much it, aside from spiders..(I'm not too fond of rollercoasters either)

I'm very prone to getting shocked, whether it's closing the car door (thanks to someone on here, I now use my key to prevent myself from getting shocked...although I lost one of my car keys now :rolleyes: ), touching a door knob, or maybe even flippin a light switch. Hell, I touch wood and I feel the static electricity (either there's metal in it, or..well...damn)

I used to get shocked like 10 times a day befo the key suggestion. Now I still get shocked, but not as much (still every day tho)

I'm not the only one *phew* Yeah, but now a days...I'm really afraid of the tv...that when I turn it off...the screen will glow with a freaky face on it, because my cousin was talking to me about a haunted house show where that actually happened at some persons house. I'm also really scared that my great grandma...or any ghost will just appear stairing at me in my bedroom...like right by my bed...or from the mirror. Cuz my great grandma "visits" me at night...but she doesn't appear...I know it's her, cuz it's that feeling. It freaks me out.

I said this before of the California thread. The thing that scares me the most are EARTHQUAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!

bees!!!! Bees scare me sooo much.. the buzzing the stinging.. one time when i was running a bee got caught inbetween my ear and my hair and was stinging my ear. it hurt so bad and my friend was with me (cross country practice) and i was like my ear hurts really bad. she didn't say anything just took me straight to my coach and pulled the bee out of my ear the back part. omg if she told me there was a bee there i think i would have passed out. anyway yea bees/wasps/hornets/yellow jackets hate to be near any of them they scare me to death.

also, losing those i love or them going out of my life scares me...

the thing that i am most scared of is drowning...the idea of not being able to breathe under water is so scary 2 me...:(

I really think this sums it up for me: Panophobia or Pantophobia- Fear of everything. I'm scared of so many things just the fact that so much stuff scares me freaks me out :|

*I'm extremely afraid of death
*I'm mildly claustrophobic, and I hate crowded places...if there's too many people I just freak out, and if I don't get the hell outta there I tend to pass out
*Electricity scares the crap outta me
*Telephones do too, I can't answer the phone...drives my boyfriend nuts
*Bugs...man, I hate bugs...especially spiders...and roaches
*Heights scare me, but in a weird way, like extreme heights are fine, but being about 2 or 3 meters above the ground freaks me out
*Clowns don't really scare me, but people that dress up in costumes, like Mickey Mouse in Disneyworld, or those weird people in the mall dressed up like pizzas or whatever
*Turbulence

Heights also. But I don't have an unreasonable fear of them. My fears are quite substantiated. I was a hyperactive child and falling off high places resulted in broken bones. One thing i will never understand is people willingly throwing themselves off high places. This just goes against every biological survival instinct i know. I am quite happy with both feet planted firmly on the ground.

i'm terrified of moths, of all things.

i also have a fear of talcom powder after an unhappy event about four years ago, when i was making a movie with my friends. it involved about a kilo of talcom powder being dumped on my head.

So I take it I'm the only person on the entire world monstrously afraid of balloons, yes?

Okay...scariest thing ever: HEIGHTS. I hate heights, and what is a diving board to some people is a mountain to me..plus the fact i can't swim lol But thats not the point. I hate heights..i can't ride roller coasters cause those are too high and i think i'd hypervenilate if i tried riding one lol.

Also I am scared of spiders...I hate it when they move..ughh gross i hate them >.<!

I forgot Stygiophobia, the fear of Hell. That's what really gets me, much more than just the fear of death. Specifically, I'm afraid I'll die and go to Hell without realizing it. I read a short story by Stephen King called "That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is In French" and it pretty much summed up my fear. Sometimes I'll just be sitting around and think "What if I had a heart attack and died five minutes ago and I'm in Hell? When will the other shoe drop?"

But that probably sounds crazier than the balloon thing, so I'll just shut up now.

Tronados because we get a lot of warnings and i knew someone who died in one.

Crickets because they are just the creepest things. I remeber when I had a frog I had to have my mom put the crickets in for him.

And really big fish have big mouths and they are scary.

I have a lot of fears.

Firstly, i have a huge insect phoebia. Any insect, it doesnt' matter. They're creepy and crawly and disgusting. Also any kind of spider or crawling thing like that. Reptiles too.

Oh ya and then also the fear of depth. Like not nowing how deep and where the bottom is. I get goosebumps just thinking abou this. And also lakes and any kind of water except for pools and showers i really dislike because of the fish and seaweed.

And lastly, i hae recently becaom very afraid of heights. Like really afraid , like alomost break down into tears afraid.

Oh wait almost forgot a biggy. NEEDLES! I hate them. i cry evrytime anyone mentions the fact i may have to get a shot or bloodtest. remember the lst two times i had to get a blood test i almost fainted and my mom thought i'd truly pass out.

The one thing I fear the most has to be birds, mainly pigeons. The are just like rats and when you are out shopping they start to fly towards you, its horrible

The thing that scares me the most is probably sharks. I've always hated them .. I can't swim in water without thinking I'm going to die by one lol

I use to be TERRIFIED of Chucky (killer doll). I use to scream and cry if one of my sibs turned the movie on... but he doesn't freak me out anymore- he just makes me laugh.

Also, the idea of being buried alive. I use to never really think about it, but after I saw this movie where Sandra Bullock was kidnapped and buried alive, it became one of my worst fears.

My grandma has a room full of porcelain dolls. And man are they creepy. When I walk into that room I get the feeling that they're all going to gag up on me or something.

Failure, needles, the dark, all the things that go bump in the night, the thought of someone hurting my children, giving birth( I was so terrified I'd dream for months on end my baby was either still born or a mutant creature) but I did it 3 times. First off we'll start with clowns. I don't know what it is, but clowns just freak me out! (I remember when I was little I was at a circus and the clown car backfired - I was afraid ever since :( )

Also, I'm afraid of spending the rest of my life alone - not feeling the love that so many people around me seem to have. To have someone to be there to spend the rest of my life with. I'm afraid of growing old alone.

I could keep going, but why bother, lol.

Any spider like insect scares me, well it's not that I'm afraid that they bite me.. I bet I could grab one if I had protective clothes and gloves tough.

-Leeches. I won't go anywhere near a lake or pond without freaking the f**k out.
-Spiders. When there is one in my room, I'll go to another room until someone kills it.
-Basketballs. I know this is silly, but whenever we play basketball in gym, I always end up getting hit in the head with one.
-Being home alone. I'm always afraid some psycho's gonna kill me. I watch too much TV.
-Being underneath a car in shop class. My teacher has done traumatized me by telling me how easy it is for a car to fall on top of me and kill me.
-Any kind of small insect, reptile, or amphibian. I've had really bad experiences. One involves me when I was like 3, I was in the bathtub and my dad threw a goldfish in there with me. :rolleyes:

Popping Balloons. Just someone with the intention of doing that scares me.

Dolls are creepy, the way they stare at you. Our french doors scare me sometimes, only when I'm an idiot and get surprised by my own reflection coming down the stairs. :rolleyes: That kind of ties in with my fear of crazy pyscho killer people. Then there's always panic attacks, which are much less common for me now than when I was younger (9-10 y/o), but I still get them occasionally. Usually I get them at night, but sometimes I get them eating out in public. I don't know... I'll just start feeling like my throat is closing up and like I can't swallow. Then I get all nervous and lose my appetite anyway. :confused:

Of course I'm not scared of normal things like the dark, needles, mice, or heights. Even solitude in and of itself doesn't scare me.

I'm scared of clowns..i used to hav nightmares as a child about them... escpecially the clown of the movie "IT"...... um i h8 big spiders... wen i go to sleep i make sure i check under my pillows, and i check under the bed sheets. and i look around me to see if any spiders are around.... i always check my wardrobe and under my bed incase anyone is hiding. I always tuck my feet under my blanket and i make sure they dont stick off the bed incase someone tries to chop them off... i always cover my mouth with my blanket and i breathe out of my nose so spiders sont find thier way in....i check my wondows so no one tries to break in..i check out my window incase sumone is trying to kill me or spy on me... i keep a wooden stick with a nail on the end so if anyone tries to get me then they get a nail into thier skull.... i look at my door to see is anyone is trying to get me.....i alwyas make sure my cd player is turnt of standby so i dont get illectricuted....i make sure my curtains are closed so no one tries to look inside.. i don't liek war or violence..thast scares me...blood makes me feel sick....... um...... i used to hav nightmares of big round faces all making bad faces at me....so that was scary.....and it happenbed everytime i had the flu..and ever since i saw a ghost im terrified of them......... so yeah ...im just a scared lil' girl..in a big big world..... :rolleyes:

Clausterphobic? I think that's how it's spelled. I'm a bit clasterphobic. I don't like being in a huge crowd of people too much. I like the open.

I'm scared of spiders, unatural things in large numbers (lines upon lines of trees, swarms of bugs, etc.), the unknown (like looking down into the ocean on a plane, or looking across the sky on a plane), infinite things (like giant bathtub for Saturn to float in), dolls, ghosts (especially faces), clowns, and cockroaches.

Most of the things, like the unatural large number thing and the infinite things were brought to my fear from nightmares I have when I'm sick.

I am scared of millions of things, i am a scaredy cat.. the main thing i am scared of is water... like the ocean, lakes, seas... big, open water!

SPIDERS!! It's amazing how frightened I am of spiders as a whole. Not a girly thing like "OMG they're SOOOO creepy" but just... I don't know, I have scars from spider bites and they hurt like hell when you get them.

Also: attention. I'm afraid of being watched or having anyone put attention on me. I hate it. You have no idea. It isn't just stage fright, this is a full-blown panic attack type thing. Which make relationships difficult considering I'm afraid of people knowing my thoughts and such.

I am scared to death of wasps and bees. It's been my fear ever since I was really little. I have reacurring dreams about swarms of bees coming in my windows and chasing me. It's not just a "oh a bee how scary" kind of fear, it's an absolutely terrified, crying and screaming kind of fear.
I'm also kind of scared of the dark. Not just any dark, like pitch blackness. No one really knows about this because it's an embarrassing fear of mine. I actually have a night-light in my room because it scares me so much. When it's really dark I start seeing shadows and I start hearing things. It just really freaks me out. I can be really paranoid.
I'm also scared of weird random things, like getting stuck at the top of a ferris wheel(pathetic, I know), things jumping out(like in scary movies), and things that bite.

Well, what scared me recently was when i was in the supermarket and i saw this 5 year old girl. She had huge bags under her eyes and looked pretty evil. you think girls only look like that in horror movies..well I saw a real life one. lol

I've always had a fear of death too. But recently, I'm starting to think it's more of a fear of non-existence (and also generally, a fear of the unknown).

My heart skips a beat when I even think of the possibility that I could just abruptly cease to exist the moment I pass away.

And that's the reason I sincerely envy people who truly have faith in a particular religion; they probably have a better sense of comfort about the afterlife than I do and probably ever could.

Night terrors that won't go away :( Drowning is another big fear and I know how to swim. I don't have a fear of death (unless I was going to hell, lol) but I do fear being buried alive.

everytime i see one in tv, its just discusting, but when i'm in the ozean and one is near me, i swim immidiatly away, and last holliday i was swimming there too, and suddenly i saw one like 2 meters right of me, and i got panic, and want to swim away as fast as i could, and then a big wave came and i was under water and drink water..wow i had such a panic..then my friend came and drag me out..omg i'm soo silly :rolleyes:

If i see one i will flip out... i was in class one day and a spider came crawling across my desk so i screamed and freaked out, fell out of my chair and jumped onto my friends desk across from me....

I am also deathly afriad of coyotes - we have them everywhere where I live and they are MEAN! Their eyes are the creepiest...check it out :

Well, not just watching geese waddle around- but when one gets angry and they charge you. That would scare me. A flock of crazy honking screeching white birds from hell sprinting at me, flapping their wings. That scares me, personally...

But, if ya wanna go deep, or a bit darker:
My heartbeat scares me. When im alone or it is waay quiet and i can hear my own heartbeat, it scares me. I cant stand the sound of my heartbeat, for some reason. ANd when i can feel it, then that really bothers me. I dont freak out or scream or something- but i just hate it.

those 8 legged things that live in the bathroom (there are pics up ^ there) petrify me. Literally. No breathing, no sound, no movement, nothing. PETRIFIED. do much so I cannot speak (or type) the word. Use your imaginations, that movie Eight Legged Freaks? The trailer gave me nighmares for months.

I am also afraid of heights, but only if I have to look up towards the sky. I am fine looking at the ground below. *shrugs*

I'm terrified of those situations where you're so embarrased you want the ground to swallow you up. I go to great lengths to avoid them.

people scare me, and what they're capably of.n i was driving home today, the roads were slippery and it was snowing, yet i saw people speeding by; even since it started snowing i've seen a lot of tow trucks and ambulances.... thats pretty scary.
