New Megadeth Record
I started last year in October working on a new record and was unsure if it was going to be a Megadeth record or the first record of my career-post Megadeth.
But there was too much good music that was written during the Megadeth era that was left incomplete and unreleased that I had written and I decided to assemble that music first. It is frikkin' heavy and most people that have been around are surprised it was never released.
Regardless of being unable to come to an agreement with the RIP line-up, I am excited to say that Chris Poland is in the studio with me in Arizona, working on this new record. Vinnie Colaiuta and Jimmy Sloas played drums and bass with me on this record and I should be done somewhere around the end of March. Don't worry, they rip!
I have heard the rumors and I don't pay them any mind; I know that the people who are saying they are "insiders" or have "inside info" are talking out their asses, and that some of them have been right by way of "a guess," but that's it. If these people say they are friends of mine and are disclosing private information about me, then I can tell you they are not considered a friend by me

Oh that rocks. I am ready for Brother Dave to make a new album, whether or not it is a Megadeth album.

It would feel weird to have ti called Megadeth if the other Dave isn't there... but I REALLY want to hear this.

Yeah I thought that too, but at least he's got Chris Poland playing again. :D
The RIP line up was always my favorite version of Megadeth, but I think this will be kind of interesting hearing Chris play some new Megadeth music.

Thats a cool story!
I read a few months back when Dave was working with the band Pillar, that they all went to chruch the next day after recording the night before.
Too bad the songs he did with them didn't end up on the new Pillar record. I was really disappointed when I found out about that. :(

I wish I knew more about it. I'll have to aske my friend about it. He kept up with all of that more than I did.
I think the end result had something to do with getting in contact with each other and Pillar didn't think it really fit their style.
Sorry, I love Pillar. Great guys and one great live band. But if Dave Mustaine took time out to come and do some solos for my album there would be no way on earth I would pass that up. Thats one huge honor. But I don't know the whole story so I can't say too much.

Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, having Dave in your record, it's like... caviar in your sandwich !
The man is like a genius.
ahh, anyway, pity for them, their loss :p

I think the song that Dave did with Pillar will still get released, but I'm not entirely sure though.

I listened to that little "Blackmail the Universe" clip on Megadeth.com. Nice. Reminds me of a lot of their early stuff, which is good.
I mean, when's the last time someone released a new THRASH album?
Long overdue.
Sept. 14, droogies!!! :D
