Hmmmm.....
I also have an emotional dilemna.
My heart says Bengals in super bowl...but I know that's not going to happen. This year. Maybe next.
If Edge stays healthy....Colts vs. The Eagles
As much as I hate the eagles, kearse and Owens added to the team, plus the return of Jeremiah Trotter. I can't see the eagles not making at least the NFC title.
Biggest disappointment: Dallas and Kansas City
Testaverde is just not going to cut it, in my opinion, and KC is going to have an overconfident slip.
Surprises: Broncos and Falcons
I have to say the Broncos are looking good offensively, and if they can gel on defense together, they might go pretty far. And the Falcons, because i think IF Vick stays healthy, and he might, he can take them back to the playoffs. I think he'll stand in the pocket more, and this will make his scrambling even more effective.
MVP: Again...if Vick stays healthy, or, Mcnabb. Because Mcnabb now has an offense that can't be stopped. Maybe Owens, if ge makes the impact that's expected. Manning is a good choice, especially with the new rules emphasis, meaning that he can pretty much pick apart a defense now.

You rawk :D That's my favorite teams. I'd love that and hate it at the same time. I'd have to flip a coin to decide who to root for :P
I'm hoping Terrell Owens makes a big impact with the Eagles. It's about time they got McNabb a real receiver to pass to. If Jevon Kearse stays healthy, their defense should be improved as well. I was so mad when they let Hugh Douglas go a couple seasons ago. Finally they bring in someone capable of filling his shoes.
The Colts have all the weapons as usual on offense, it's just up to the defense to get better. Especially in the secondary.
Hey Coach what QB would that be on the Eagles? Blake or Hall? Detmer has been there a while, so I'm gonna guess he's not it.

Being a Pats fan, this is going to sound odd but I want the Panthers again. That had to be one of the greatest Super Bowls ever and if they met up again the results could be the other way with your Cats coming out on top.
I actually sat thru the "NFL Yearbook" about the Panthers on ESPN yesterday. That team has my total respect and I hope the O-line holds up because I think that will be the stumbling block for them. I'm only picking the Bucs to take the NFC because they got rid of the cancers on their team(Sapp and ME-shawn) but that whole conference is one big crap shoot.
A Pats and Panthers rematch would be sweet. Let's cross our fingers.

That's four straight Super Bowls. I'm reminded all the time by my wife, her family, my dad, my grandmother and half my crew at work that they went to four in a row. It's funny now because my Pats actually got it right the last two times they went.
True story, six months after the first Bills SB loss, my dad ran into Scott "wide right" Norwood in downtown Fredonia (old training camp site) at a hot dog stand. My dad, in his lack of common sense goes up to him and asks if he is Scott Norwood. When he says, "Yes." My dad, puts his arm around him and says,"I'm sorry, if that kick was only 18 inches more to the left."
As if poor Norwood hadn't heard that about a thousand friggin' times before. :(

So in the NFC Championship its going to be the Eagles vs the Falcons,(the dirty bird game) and in the AFC it will be the Steelers vs the Patriots.

AFC game- (this is the Super Bowl in my oponion) Gotta go w/ the Pats. After what they did to Indy last week, I dont see anyone beating them.

I disagree. The Eagles showed that they are in fact a Super Bowl team, even without Owens, who I hear will be back for the Super Bowl *when* the Eagles make it. :p Reid is an amazing coach, and sees what his team is capable of, and so have so many other teams.
Now the Patriots definitely have a shot, now that Pittsburgh barely scraped by their defeat over the Jets.
My prediction is New England and Philly. Yes, I am biased to the Eagles (obviously, look at my avatar) but I think they'll be able to handle the Falcons.
3 reasons I think this:
1. The last time the Eagles were in the Super Bowl was 1982. The year I was born. This is the first year in a LONG time that I've been this much into football, which means that out of all the years I've been alive, the Eagles were saving their Super Bowl Championship for me to appreciate and enjoy it 110%. (lol :p)
2. The Boston Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 80 some odd years, why stop there with the teams that always slacked off right before they got the title?
3. Reggie White, wherever he is, will pull the proverbial strings neccasary for us to make it this year.
So, as much as I was saying it was going to be a Pennsylvania Super Bowl, I have changed my opinion to New England and Philly. Yep. That's what it's going to be.
I'm peeved that the Jets lost last weekend. I'd rather the Pats play the Jets because I KNOW that they can beat them. However, the Pats vs. the Steelers game should be awesome.

I'm going for the Patriots. They are my home team, after all. And, they are the favorites to win the game, even if the Steeler's have home field advantage. They stomped over the Colts, the top scoring team in the NFL, thus proving that they can win against the best offenses. And also, they have Corey Dillon for the game this time.
So go Patriots! They can score as a team, win as a team, and play as a team.

I don't know...I think the Eagles can and will beat the Pats. They just have too many weapons, especially if TO comes back. He's definetely the best receiver in the game, and one of my favorite players too. And if the Eagles defense keeps up what they've been doing...no way NE can beat them. They have something to prove, NE is just trying to stay where they are. It's a lot easier to knock someone off the mountain than it is to stay on top. I hope Philly wins anyway. I got a kick out of this article, especially the text I have bolded.
A son proves, and lets his mom reprove
By Stephen A. Smith
Inquirer Columnist
They say the anxiety was witnessed only in the huddle, that Donovan McNabb was otherwise a stoic, cool tactician of the highest order. Before the game, as he was warming up. During the game's early moments, as the chores of orchestrating Andy Reid's schemes conflicted with what he would later term "unparalleled adrenaline."
But as the game waned and the clock ticked, with victory and celebration as imminent as the confetti that filled the air, it appeared that tears began flowing from the eyes of a young man affectionately known as "No. 5," signifying the end of an era he had never asked to be a part of to begin with.
In the eyes of America, the marketing geniuses who manipulate them and 67,717 frenzied fanatics who bought into the hype hook, line and sinker, the names Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick would take center stage in yesterday's NFC championship game instead of a man named Doug Williams.
Who would run better, pass better, and lead his team to a Super Bowl?
Or as McNabb's mother, Wilma, eloquently put it: "No one was desirous that a black quarterback be successful."
It happened anyway, courtesy of McNabb, who picked apart the Falcons with such precision that it made you ponder how Vick was ever mentioned in the same breath.
McNabb completed 17 of 26 passes for 180 yards, throwing two touchdowns to Chad Lewis. He rushed 10 times for 32 yards, proving Vick wasn't the only one with wheels worth fearing. Time and again, McNabb approached the line of scrimmage, viewed the scenery, then tossed one clutch pass after another, nullifying any attempt that would leave this encounter in doubt.
And so it goes, McNabb is heading to the Super Bowl - the first black quarterback since Williams did so with the Washington Redskins in 1988.
"There's no relief for me," McNabb said. "I'll have relief after the Super Bowl. I set a goal to win a Super Bowl, and that's where I'm going with it. We're not done."
McNabb may not be, but the rest of us should be. Particularly with the Rush Limbaughs of the world.
Let McNabb wax politically correct all he wants. Let him talk about his offensive line, his teammates, and winning one for a city devoid of any recent championship hardware.
Yesterday was about erasing demons, even the ones that weren't put there by McNabb himself. McNabb never dreamed of a football novice like Limbaugh using him as political fodder, sullying his name in a quest to indict others. And if McNabb wasn't interested in addressing the impact of Limbaugh's silly words from October 2003, the likelihood is that McNabb wasn't because there was no need to.
He has plenty of loved ones willing to do so for him.
Especially on days like yesterday, when all the effort, pain and misery culminates with a joy that few will experience.
"Right now, this win, finally reaching the Super Bowl, brings back history," Wilma McNabb explained. "I think about my mother and father and the things they went through. Living in the South, accomplishing all the things they accomplished after enduring so much. I thought we had gotten through some things. Then the Rush Limbaughs of the world pop up with their black/white issues, and it takes me back to a place I'd thought we had left behind a long time ago.
"I'm just so proud of Donovan, because he did have something to prove. Since he's been in the NFL, he's always had to prove something. Some people don't have to prove anything. They just get out on the field. They just have to win one playoff game and then they become MVP. But we have to just keep on keeping on. We have to be perfect and still get better. Sometimes it's awful to think of. Then there's moments like this."
Super moments. Moments that took 24 years, including three excruciating NFC title games so demoralizing that some people stopped believing.
"We know a lot of people turned their backs on us," McNabb said. "They just didn't have the confidence we'd be able to do it. I think we answered a lot of questions, a lot of critics. So maybe people will be happy about the Philadelphia Eagles again, maybe not. But as you can see, we're not worried about it."
Finally, we can all see why.
A Super Bowl is scheduled in two weeks. And the Eagles are playing in it.
Wow. It wasn't more than what, five years ago that Steve McNair, a black quarterback led the Titans to the Super Bowl (http://www.superbowl.com/history/recaps/game/sbxxxiv)? You'd think a guy like Stephen A. Smith, as arrogant as he is, with his "know it all" attitude wouldn't have overlooked that little tidbit. Ooops ;)

They did the same exact thing last night on Fox before the game was over.
I think what they mean is actually lead them to victory.
But yeah, that's a HUMONGOUS mistake if leading them to the Super Bowl game is what they meant.

They actually missed it during the game yesterday. I remember them talking about McNabb being the second one. I guess the Titans aren't important!

That's definitely what Stephen A. Smith meant, so yeh, big goof on his part. I didn't hear the quote last night during the game though. However even if they meant "first QB to win since Doug Williams" as you suggested, that would still be a goof, unless they were looking into the future of course :)
Edit: BTW, that 2000 Super Bowl between the Titans and Rams was awesome and will always be remembered as the game were the Titans came up just one yard short. Shame on Smith and apparently the folks from FOX for overlooking it :P

I noticed that most people don't like the Pats for one reason... because they're good.
I'm wearing my Pats shirt to school today. Woo hoo!!!!! :D
It's cause we got MAD SKILLS! :D
In all honesty, I know what you mean. Many people don't like the Pats because they keep winning and they find that boring after a while. They all find the most thrill in seeing their team lose and then bounce back from that loss to win. But the Pats did that... I just don't know!
I wish I had thought of wearing my Pats jersey or shirt to school today. But... I didn't think about it. I just grabbed whatever was in the laundry basket and went on my way to class.
Yay for the Pats!

Well, I'm not a huge Pats fan, but I don't dislike them. I'm tired of seeing them in the Super Bowl for the same reason I'm tired of always seeing the Yankees in the playoffs, it just gets boring to me to see one team win all the time. Of course, this leads me to support some of the biggest underdogs in sports (Chicago Cubs, along with the Carolina Panthers (not so much underdogs anymore) and Cincinnati Bengals). :(

!
I don't hate the Pats because they keep winning, I hate them because they are boring to watch. Like I pointed out earlier, if anyone watches NBA, they are the Spurs of the NFL, with Brady/Tim Duncan aka Mr. Snore at qb. I like the Falcons because of Vick. He's exciting. I like the Eagles because of TO and Mcnabb, because they are exciting. And yet they always seem to win too. Of course, I'm also the biggest fans of the Bengals and the Lions, so....
I will watch the Pats and hate them less because of Corey Dillon though. He was a monster in Cincinnati, and no one even knew who he was. It's nice to see him finally get his due. I'll be rooting for him to run well in the game. I just want the Eagles to win it this year, because I love TO, and honestly...McNabb deserves to win. After all that shit he went through, with the whole Draft fiasco and the fans booing him, and losing 3 straight championship games in a row...it's his time. And if you think I'm just going for them because I like to see people bounce back...I was a huge 49er fan during their dynasty, and always went for Dallas in the Super Bowls in the early nineties too, so I do like my winnng teams. I just don't like New England. I didn't like them when they sucked, and I don't like them now. I'm not a bandwagon guy. I like individual players, the Lions, and the Bengals...being a Bengal and a Lion fan is definetely the OPPOSITE of being a bandwagon guy, lol. :p

Like them or not, the Pats are the best team. There a complete team.
I dont see anyway the Eagles can win. New england held the #1 scoring offense to 3 points, and they scored 41 against the #1 defense.
Sorry Phillie...

I'm so getting tired of people saying that the 'Eagles' will loose just because they haven't been in the Superbowl forever. I think that is a in correct statement. Just because a team hasn't been in the Superbowl in years, doesn't mean they aren't going to win. That's illogical to say that, really. That has no effect over the team. Well, maybe some if you want to get too technical. Techincal like saying the Teamates would be realizing that this is their first Superbowl in a long time, and they want to finally prove themselves.
However, I think if the Eagles don't win, they have already proven themselves. Just for the fact of reaching so far, is proof enough for me. The Die hard fans don't need them to win the Super Bowl. Would we like them to? Yes, of course, who wouldn't? But, we love them no matter what. Not because they are winning, but because that's OUR team.
Some people have also been saying that the Eagles are going to loose because they didn't win the other, previous Super Bowl they were in. Well, did they ever stop to think that maybe the Eagles weren't ready? I mean, I'm not trying to offend anyone, but they weren't ready. If they were ready, they would have won.
People have also been saying that the Pats are BETTER then the Eagles. Well, if they were better, they wouldn't need to compete against another team would they? The would have already won, and wouldn't have to compete against another team to prove they are the best. I hope the makes sense..

I never said that. read my previous post.
I wasn't reffering specifically to you. Sorry if you thought I was. I was reffering to people at my School, and to people I have talked to. Sorry, for not specifying.
That does not make sense.
Let me try to word this, differnet. People that I have overheard keep saying that the Patriots are better then the Eagles. Neither team is better, and I don't think that can be proven. Yes, if you win the Superbowl, you are CONSIDERED the 'best team', for that time. However, some people are just so cocky and think that the Patriots are the best team, no matter what you say. So, I think if they are the 'best' team ever, then they should be in the Superbowl every year. They should be winning it, too.
That might have not made sense, either. If it didn't this time, I'll drop it, because I'm obviously not getting my point across or not wording it right. Again, I wasn't reffering to you, either. I was talking about people in general.

Thats there oponion if they think there better. just like you think the eagles are better. And it WILL be proven on Super bowl Sunday who is the best team.
Yes, if you win the Superbowl, you are CONSIDERED the 'best team', for that time.
No. you ARE the best team for that time.
However, some people are just so cocky and think that the Patriots are the best team, no matter what you say. So, I think if they are the 'best' team ever, then they should be in the Superbowl every year. They should be winning it, too.
First of all, I never said they were the best team "ever." And anyone who says that are morons.
But they have obviously been the best team in the last couple years. you
CANNOT argue with 2 Super bowl wins in the last 3years. And if they win on Sunday that will be 3 rings in 4 years. Can you say modern day dynasty?
And I will say this again: They only gave up 3 POINTS to the LEADING scoring team in the league against Indy.
Then they scored 41 POINTS against the #1 DEFENSE.
