Who here is all going?
I plan on going but I can't garantee that I will be there just because I will have to find a ride and getting money around this time of the year isn't the greatest.

I've never been to a real concert like this before, so I don't really know what time to get there and stuff. If anybody could give me tips about buying the tickets and all, that would be great!
I'm hoping the tickets aren't to much money otherwise my dad might not pay for them.

I'm goingggg. Assuming I can get the tickets, anyway. They go on sale on Ticketmaster on the 19th, according to 93X. I was hoping they'd be at The Myth instead, but we can't be picky.

I just got my tickets! :OOOO I bought two, one for me + my coworker. I was going to get another one for another girl I work with, but she really isn't a big fan of the band. She said she'd go b/c I asked her if she wanted to... but I'd rather have people who are truly into the band going since it's such a small venue. *considerate of others*

lol it's entirely possible. It is downtown Minneapolis, after all. I'm not very familiar with the area, as I'm rarely down there. But there's strength in numbers, so we'll be able to fend off any rampaging hobos or call girls that come our way. Being the massive ditz that I am, I only just remembered to get my ticket...thank God they weren't sold out!! :) So I'll be there, and for anyone who's short as well *cough5'4.5"...and, YES, the .5 is important!cough* I'll definitely be getting there ridiculously early so I can get up front! (It's standing only, right? I've never been to the quest).

And for anyone freaked out about downtown, I'll protect you :) I've worked in South Minneapolis for year and a half, so after dealing with the things down there (Lake Street after dark, for example) downtown is nothin'. Really, though, there'll be enough of us that we won't be bothered. :)

The last Ev concert I went to, I was in the middle of the crowd - and a tad bit upset at that, since I was nearly at the front of the line, haha. Once Ev came out, though, I found that I was suddenly nearly able to grasp the fence that separates the crowd from the stage. Point is - pretty much no matter where you are, you're going to get smashed/squished/poked/stabbed/killed/thrown/moshed. Hehe! In my case, I ended up pushed all the way to the front where I wanted to be in the first place.

Oh, and Michelle - I wouldn't worry about it too much (in spite of what I said above)...if you feel that you can't handle it, try to get one of the security guard's attention, and they'll pull you out. Much easier to do when you're up front than stuck in the middle being crushed.

Unless it's changed since I've been there, which it might have since it's been a few years, the bar at the Quest was on the right side, so it's not as far from the stage as at the Varsity, but it's not right up front. At least I'm pretty sure. It's been too long. lol

As for meeting up for food, etc. beforehand, I'd be up for it, though I'm not sure how early I can make it, cause I work the night shift and so I won't get to bed until about 5AM and I would like to get a little sleep, plus I've got the hour or so of travel time. Just let me know what you plan and I'll try my best to make it.

Oh. I should check my e-mail more often. I saw "Refund" and got scared for a moment.

ANYWAY. This kinda sucks. I was seriously used to the idea of going to The Quest. Not that I've ever been to any of them or even Minnesota at all... (ha) ...but it kinda makes me uneasy. I don't know why, I'm weird like that. Bleh.

They actually did that for another concert that I went to. It was scheduled at the Quest, but they had a fire and I guess it's still not ready. I was a little surprised when I found out it was scheduled for there. First Ave is okay, though going down the few stairs to the main floor is dangerous since there isn't much in the way of lighting even before the show and I was worried about landing face down on the floor.

Edit: Oh and I might still be able to meet up beforehand. I'll let you know once I get all scheduled at my job.

Aww, don't worry. And it's not actually a stair well. Once you get past the front doors you go around to the show area and the very back is a little higher and there are about three or four steps down to get to the area where you'll be standing for the show and it kind of freaked me out cause they didn't have as many lights on the stairs as I would have liked. Just don't do a headlong rush to the stage when you get in and it shouldn't be a problem. And I've probably done such a poor job of describing it that it will be nothing like you picture. And maybe they'll have more lights on in there this time.

It's not like super tiny, but no matter where you are, unless you're behind a tall person, you'll have a good view. It does have a balcony area too, but I think half is for 21 and older cause I think the bar is up there. I'm not totally sure cause I don't drink at shows and I wanted to be near the stage, so I stayed on the floor.

My friend said it's even smaller than The Quest and it's easy to get backstage. Yay. She also said 1st Avenue is where they filmed Purple Rain w/Prince. But I'm equally as clueless about this place as The Quest.

So, how do we want to plan meeting up beforehand? I don't know what parking is like downtown...would anyone want to venture to a nearby 'burb? Thoughts? And for anyone with parents who are squeemish about them going downtown or whatever, I'm willing to chaperone! I'm not exactly what that will entail other than fending off random thugs, which is what I'll be doing for Tyler anyway ;)

I will not know until the very last minute if this is feasible or not. (So much for non-refundable plane tickets) It will all depend on when the actual insemination will take place. Sorry if this is TMI.

First off, good luck with everything Melanie!

Next, I had been thinking about taking the light rail in, but then, that's what I always do when I'm going to downtown Minneapolis, cause the tickets there and back don't cost more than $4 and the parking lot at Fort Snelling is free, so it's usually cheaper for me since I'm going to stuff by myself (more people, of course would equal more tickets and would defeat the price thing). And I might figure out what's the earliest that I can show up this weekend. I start my first day of training today at my new job! I think I'll get through today without being sick from nerves. Anyways, I'll let you all know whenever I finally get to schedule my hours.

I looked on Ebay you guys and there is a pair of tickets going for like 147 dollars or something. Holy krap!

First of all, Melanie, good luck with the insemination! I hope all goes well! It would be awesome if you could make it, though!

Should we all just get downtown at an appointed time and find something to eat there? Then we can get back to First Avenue nice and early to get in line. Does anyone have a preference what time? I'll be game to go anytime, depending on other people's schedules.

Looks like, if I get my way, I'll be working the 3 or 4AM to 8AM shift (since the other ends at 5:30PM and that just wouldn't work out!), so I'll be fine for whenever, though I may take a nap while I wait for the doors to open. :D

What does everyone think about meeting somewhere at about 11 to eat? That'd give us at least a couple hours (tops!) to eat before we go and camp out. I don't know a good place to eat around the area but I'm going to ask Marika b/c she just moved here last year or something and knows this fucking place better than I do AND I'VE BEEN HERE ALL MY LIFE.

Unless Karen or someone else with equal knowledge chimes in. But I think once we establish a place to meet up and eat the rest will fall into place, being that there's only one place to go after that. =D

p.s. Cameras. Who's got them! It'll be interesting to see what their policy is. I'm sure at least a couple of us can smuggle them in if the guards are feeling vigilant in their thievery. I absolutely need pictures and I know I won't be the only one sharing that sentiment. ;)

And about cameras, someone on the fan club board said they were going to post whether cameras are allowed at the show or not, though if they don't, I might call the venue later this week to check. Either way, I'll let you know what I find out. Especially since at the last show I went to at First Ave, I actually got the old pat down at the door way. And I only have been to the Pizza Luce downtown, so I don't know about the other restaurants around there.

I think you guys should get a hotel room here. Because if you don't, you're stuck driving to the show in the (early?) morning. Then what are you going to do, drive right back for another five hours after the show? If you had a room Sat-Sun, you could drive here Saturday night, stay the night--EAT WITH US <3--then drive back after the concert. Plus the driving would be spaced out more so you wouldn't be doing a ten hour drive in one day. PLUS we'd have hardly any time together if you came later in the day =((. *scrounges extra hours*

I'm gonna bring a disposable camera with me just so if it get's taken away it won't matter much. I want to bring one though to take pictures of all of you guys and stuff like that. I don't really want to take pictures of the concert.

My friend who's coming with's boyfriend really wants to go and I told her about it. It says UPS ground shipping--are you actually mailing it or is it an e-mail ticket? $10 for "shipping" makes me sad when postage is like 37 cents. Although I guess you'd want to UPS it if you -had- to mail it so you had confirmation it arrived. That's if the ticket's even in physical form.

The MN state law allows you to sell it up to a max of $75, so you could very well be making a profit without having to jack up the shipping price. But that's how things go.

I like Tyler's idea for hiding cameras, lol! :) I don't really plan to take pictures during the show, but in case we meet the band I'd like to have it handy...I'm planning to wear jeans that are sufficiently flared that I can stick it in my sock and move it to my pocket once we're in the venue... :) I'm pretty crafty...I snuck a purse past the Secret Service during the 2004 election and stood 10 feet from John Kerry...I can handle this! :mrgreen:

idk now I kind of changed my mind and decided I want to get in line way early so I can get a good spot. From the sounds of it we'll be competing with a number of other people if we're in line around 12-1. Maybe a few of us can get there all early (I know not everyone can do that) and someone (or a couple people, w/e) could run and get us pizza or something and we'd eat in line <3? I want to get there between 7-8 I think.

I just REALLY want a good spot and I've pretty much decided to do so. lol. Don't forget they'll very possibly try and let the "contest winners" in before even the staunch, hearty Minnesotans who wait forever in the cold. So that's additional people we'll have to contend with unless we pull a Katya episode and bitch to security about it.

It pisses me off that the contest winners get let in first b/c everyone knows all the real fans are the ones who actually BUY the tickets, wait in line early, etc., while the contest winners usually think of Evanescence as an afterthought, like, "Oh, that'd be fun to go to!" :rolleyes:

Yeah, I have no idea how early one would need to be there either. I'm usually up front for shows I go to, but it isn't generally someone as popular as Ev, so I can just show up an hour before doors open and beat everyone.

Okay kids, here's what I got from my call today. It seems to me that venues don't often know about a band's preferences, at least relating to cameras until the day before the show, at least that's how it's been before. What they told me today was that I could bring my camera (so I'm guessing that normally they allow cameras there) and if cameras aren't allowed and you have one at the door, you have to coat check it. I'm better with that than security takes it and you never see it again. Anyways, that's the official word for now, which doesn't really help you all that much, aside from you don't need to worry about losing your camera totally if you bring it.

And for those who might want to say hello, it sounds like I probably shouldn't be expected until about 1. Better than if I had the late schedule at my job training and had been let out at 5.

Holy Krap nobody has posted about the show yet last night!

Let me just say it fricken rocked hard core!

I got there around 3 or so and the line wasn't actually all that long so I was quite happy. We probally waited for about an hour before stuff started happening. A guy working at the place came and told us that they wanted two lines so people could go line up on the other side. A bunch of people then ran over there so we moved up in the line a huge distance.

These people working for the gum company "Stride" came with a whole car full of boxes of gum and were handing them out so we got two boxes of gum, the boxes have 1000 pieces of gum each. A lot of gum haha. Then another person came with a box full of Hot tamolies ( I can't spell) so I grabbed some of them. Danielle (the girl that came with me got Jackass the movie for free also)

Then we stood there for a while longer and finally we were able to get let in. I walked in and was kind of confused of where to go haha. Once I figured it out we went and stood in the little mosh area were everybody was and somehow ended up about 5 feet away from the stage. (YAY!) We waited for like an hour and a half before the show actually started which sucked because it was uber hot in there. We were jam packed in there wowy jeez! But that made it all the more fun. Revolution Theory rocked majorly! Danielle bought their cd. Then after they got off the stage it took probally another half hour before Ev came on and when they did there was so much excitement in the air it was amazing. Rocky looked super happy when he got up there. Amy's skirt was so beautiful! Btw was she wearing two pairs of tights? I saw the purple and black ones and then underneath them I could see some time of pink swirly ones. I was hoping they would have done a little more crowd participation but Oh well. I can't tell you the set list just because I was using most of my energy to try to stay standing (major pushage) and sing along with the songs.

If I think of anything else I will post it later.

I didn't get to meet any evboarders, at least I don't think I did..hehe I know I talked to a lot of people. Where any of you guys the people that were right up front on the sort of middle left side (ahah how does that work) wearing a red shirt? Cause if you were let me just say you were super tall.

Camera's were allowed btw so I have pictures but I won't get them developed until Wednesday so You'll have to wait for them!
