I've been to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell venue, but not this one. Anyone been there, know what it's like? Where it is? I'm trying to decide between Houston or Dallas.

So are Houston and Dallas the only TX cities Ev is going to? :( I was so hoping for a Corpus Christi show or an Austin or San Antonio show. At least with those cities I could have a shot at going to the show and coming back in the same day without having to miss a day of teaching. grrrr teaching, or well my student teaching final evaluation is why I missed Ev with Ben still in it last time and now it'll probably be the reason why I'm going to have to miss them this time around again. *cries* :(

They may hit those cities later. This is a quick promotional tour I think. I'd love it if they came here to Austin.

Form what I have been told, This is the first leg of their tour, small spots first, across the ocean, back to the states in 07, for bigger shows. So we may all get lucky!:D

I've been there. You can sit down in the back half of the venue because there's slow rising steps to the back, or the front half is regular pit. Seemed like a decent place. The busses are pretty easy to access too, if you're the stalker type. Lots of easy underground parking/walking, to avoid fooling with the traffic.

to me the only way to really get the full concert experience is to be on the floor right by the stage..so i don't go to a concert unless i am on the floor

i wanna go the houston show since its the closest to me... being in louisiana sucks unless they come back around to baton rouge or new orleans

I'll be going to this one if the Dallas one isn't going to happen. And who knows, if they come back to Austin or San Antonio after Europe, I might go see them again! Wouldn't that be awesome, 2 Ev shows :p

I've pulled up the Verizon Wireless Theatre events calendar and they're not showing this concert listed. Others after it, and others that tix aren't yet for sale, are listed.

Am I looking at the wrong site?

I'll definitely be attending this concert at the Verizon Wireless Theatre. It will be my first time at this venue. Also thinking of making the roadtrip to Dallas to see them at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium.

I'm thinking of goin to the show at Mcfarlin anyway...there's no listing for the Verizon Center on ticketmaster

how come in the ticket master they dont list that evanescence has a show for the 22nd?

I heard CMWYS on 93.1 today and they said they were gunna be at the Mcfarlin theatre in Dallas, nothing about Houston, so i have no idea what the deal is

to me the only way to really get the full concert experience is to be on the floor right by the stage..so i don't go to a concert unless i am on the floor

Miami (which is in Florida) and Houston (in Texas) are about 1,000 miles away from each other. That's about 1,500 kilometers.

I don't think any of the October shows are going to be any closer to Miami though.

I am so mad that I couldn't get tix to the Dallas show! When is the Houston show gonna go on sale?

i know That miami is very far from texas .. but it is the show more near to this city, and I have family in miami they me catch in the airport to go to texas, in car or in plane, then I return to Argentine, i'll go there only to seeing to evanescence but I cannot travel alone in usa having 16 years old

Miami is about a 3 hour flight from Houston. If you drove it would take at least a full day of driving (16-18 hours), maybe longer. Airline tix are $250 or more.

If it's the closest concert and you really want to go, I would tell you to fly. The flight's really not that bad, if you want to pay the money. But realistically, Miami and Houston aren't that close (of course, I have driven and flown to see Evanescence concerts, so it doesn't sound that crazy to me :)

...now THAT is a dedicated fan. :-)

Evanescence.com tour site doesn't have a sale date. I hope this doesn't mean that they are not going to play there. The only other concert i could go to is Dallas but I really don't want to go that far. Plus i don't know anybody in Dallas. I have friends in Houston. What are the chances that they won't make it there?

ohk..just wondering cuz i would need to know this information on hand...do u think there will be an Internet Presale on Ticketmaster.com cuz they can post it up fast with no one knowing. and if there is a Internet Presale. do u all know how or if they have been using the same password for other dates on this tour??

ticketmaster lists the venue now but it says currently not on sale....my guess is the 9th they will be on sale....ill be ready to order mine as soon as they are up for grabs...

A reminder to everyone, the tickets went on sale this morning at 10 am. Just bought two tickets this morning. They were $25 each for general admission but after convienence charges, surcharges, and taxes, the total was $70. I really detest ticketmaster. :mad:

UNGH. Fuck Ticketmaster. I got tickets for section 203 row B, and when I get the confirmation email, it tells me I'm in section 204 row fucking F. They should, you know, at least LET ME KNOW that they're changing my seats before I complete the purchase. Argh, but oh well. I'm sure I'll still have a great view since these are supposed to be small venues.

No, I meant on the ticketmaster site. The drop down window to select which category of seats you wanted to purchase. They offered "table seats right of center" which sounded great! Then they ended up being in the back section.

Oh well, I ended up with two sets of tickets. First ones I bought were "best available" and they were general admission. So I went back and bought actual seats. Going with my friends and we don't want to be in a mosh pit.

EDIT: the venue seating chart had the floor listed with back sections numbers 104 to 106. Did anyone get those or did those also turn into general admission?

when i went to the Taste of Chaos 2006 man.. they were throwing people out that had cameras and stuff.. (litterally chunking them out) quite funny. but that was in dallas... lol.

I'm so excited.. I have 3 Floor GA Tickets! ROCK ON! I can't wait to be in the pit. I'm going with my good friend and her mom and we're going to have the time of our lives. I've never seen Evanescence before... and never really been in a "mosh pit"... so I can't wait.. I'm SO excited... this is like an early christmas gift.. that I had to pay for tho.. lol

And Houston is 10 HOURS AWAY... and we're driving the whole way! lol ... I know.. I'm crazy.. and I'm taking MY car too...lol

I know it really is crazy but I guess that's what crazy fans do sometimes. We're leaving Saturday, the 21st and staying the night and then waking up EARLY on Sunday and getting there to stand in line... Driving 10 hours I hope to be in the VERY FRONT!!!

I got back from the concert about 2 hours mins ago. I had to say that it was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I haven't been to very many concerts in my life but I'm so glad I made it to this one. Amy was in great voice, she sounded absolutely angelic and looked the part as well. The rest of the band also did wonderfully. I've never had so much fun in my life being surrounded by EV fanatics like myself. I only wish I had either brought my camera or my camera in my phone didn't suck. I was afraid if I brought it that they would be confiscating them or something. Hopefully there will be some pics on the net from other concert go-ers.

Well, should any of the band happen to read this, I think your show was breathtaking an I'm now an even bigger fan than before. Consider me an EV fan for life!!! Good luck on the rest of your tour and have a great time. I will be seeing you again when you come back from over seas in 07 (if the rumors are true).

Amy and Terry, I can't even begin to tell you how much the lyrics to your new songs meant to me before I saw you live and now they mean even more. Watching Amy sing them with such passion left me awe-struck. It seemed like you were singing just for me for the person in my past they apply to. I want to thank you for your dedication to writing meaningful songs that really get my adrealine pumping and help me let go of the pain. Everytime I hear them, a little piece of those negative feelings die. I can't wait to see you guys again.

P.S.: Just wanted to mention that i drove 9 hours from B.R. to Houston to see this concert (construction, car accidents, oil spills on the highway...etc.) Nothing was going to stop me from this concert. I drove 9 hours and I'll do it again! :):) Keep on rocking and never stop

Evanescence Concert 10-22-06

KK.. here is the one i wrote on myspace, so i just copy and pasted here :)

Wow.. the show was great!!!! Even though im 14 weeks preg, i still rocked as hard as i could. The opening act, Revelation Theory was decent. Evanescence was great. Amy sounded amazing, she hit every note while being sick... kudos to her. After the concert me and my husband went behind the venue by the tour buses to wait for the bands to come out so they could sign our stuff. Terry and Tim from Evanescence came out first. Terry came straight to me first and signed my ticket. I told him that he rocked the show and he said, "Thanks, i tried my best." Then Tim came over... he is cute and funny. He had a beer in hand and was spouting off cracks while signing stuff. Then the lead singer from Revelation Theory came out, i believe his name is Rich. He was pretty cool. He signed my ticket and moved 2 people down. One lady asked him to sign the CD that she had bought of theirs, but it still had the plastic on it and she was trying to get if off in a hurry and it just wasnt working, so Rich was like, "Here... try this." and he pulled a sharp veggie peeler out.. and i said, "What is that?" He said, "Oh its my veggie peeler." I said, "You carry around a veggie peeler in your back pocket?" And he laughed and said, "Yeah, its for my ginger root/honey tea." I was like, Ahhhh it all makes sense now. A little while later John from Evanescence came out. He tried to sneak by us but that didnt work out too well. He signed my ticket and we asked for a picture but Ritchie (bodyguard) said no pics :(. While John was making his way down the line, Rocky from Evanescence came out, signed my stuff..and signed someone's pimp cane.. it was pretty cool. Almost 2 hours of waiting Amy from Evanescence FINALLY came out. She didnt look like she wanted to be there really. I heard she was sick, so i dont blame her. Once she came out EVERYONE started pushing and crushing the people in the front line. It was a tad scary really. Some people are just... too fanatic. Amy came to me finally and signed my ticket and then Andrew (my husband) got her to sign my camera. Before me and my husband left where Amy was, some guy was handing his nasty white shoe over us to Amy.. she looked at it funny and her face was like, WTF?, Andrew said, "Do you wanna grab the shoe?" Amy said, "No... not really", but she signed it anyways. After that, we were so tired. We had been standing for about 7 hours almost... so we left. It was a night to remember and im so glad we went. This for sure will not be my last Evanescence concert :)
