HAHA! I looooove college! I don't have any classes on tuesdays, so I'll be able to get there at like 4 in the morning and be a geek like that to get the best seats!
Anyway, here is the venue if anyone wants to see (if it's standing room only, then obviously the seating chart won't make any difference at all):

well, I don't know about an after party for me, seeing as I have school the next day and strict parents. But I do intend to stay after and meet the band, and I am assuming the rest of you are too, right?
I am also going to get in line quite early. I want to be in the front for the show because I am very short.

Maybe we could make special EvBoard badges so we know who is safe to talk to and who to sorta let in the front of the line if you just can't be there really early. ;)

we should. I'm definitly staying after and possibly seeing the band....and im gonna try to get there early as well cuz.... well....ya. I'm very short. This is so exiteing! I'm going to an Evanescence concert for my 13th birthday. SCORE!! but with my luck, I'll end up getting in the back and not meeting the band..... but thats ok! Cuz I'm gonna see Evanescence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

haha whats with all the little banned 12 year olds invading this thread? haha
No cameras allowed inside. well, that makes me mad. I need it for taking pics with other evboarders and for after with meeting the band and such. maybe i will have to figure out a way to shove it down my pants or something, haha. Or i guess i could leave it in the car and get it afterwards, depending on how far away it is to park. I really want to bring my camera in though and get pics of the show =((
And yes, evboard nametags sound like a good idea.
And I hope you can make it Wildangel!!
I've been to the paramount, it's lovely inside. I saw fiona apple and the sound was great, the stage was great. Ive actually performed on the stage about 8 times or so with dance competitions so I've been backstage, and I've used the little bathroom "getting ready" areas before.

It says:
PRICE LEVEL 2
ORCHESTRA/FLOOR/SECTIONS LEFT,CENTER,RIGHT/ROWS A-Z
SECTIONS TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER
That's kind of tricky...orchestra section is BLUE on the map,
which is behind the "golden circle" floor section at the stage.
Yet, it DOES say floor...hmmm.
Is there going to be an imaginary line drawn and security geeks saying,
"Hey, you've got the orchestra floor tickets, you have to move back!?"
Are we just going to wait to see if the $30 tickets go on sale soon?
It definately says "General Admission Standing Pit Area" is $30.
I'm confused...
DhammaSeeker
08-16-2006, 12:34 PM
Tracie told me that at similar venues near her, they actually erect a barrier (fence) between the seated section and the standing pit section to control the crowd. I'm guessing the Paramount would do the same thing.

I just called the box office, and the guy there said that the presale tickets are generally not the "best seats" in the house and that the standing/floor tickets should be available when the sale opens to the general public on Saturday. Just be ready right at 10:00.

I think we evboarders should section off a part when we get there and make our own little party thing. Maybe Amy and the band will come talk to us since were on evboard!!! probably not but who knows!!! Hope to see you guys soon!!!:D
edit: Do you guys think that the bigger shows will be more expencive or not?

I can't wait until we get some word as to who is touring with EV.
I've tried going to some band's sites that I might suspect would be,
and it seems ALL of them say TBA on their tour pages...go figure.
I am really curious to see which bands we have to "tolerate" this
time around while waiting for Amy and company to take the stage! :p

Okay I have a question and since I've never ever been to a concert before this may be a stupid question. Okay if I buy tickets do you have to go to that spot or can you sneak around and go to a completely different spot all together?
This is probably a really stupid question but I was just wondering.

Not a stupid question at all! It just all depends on the venue and if it sells out or not. I fully expect this place to sell out with less than 1900 capacity. If you get GA tickets (general admission) which is the floor, or "pit" tickets, you can pretty much go where you want. If you get assigned seating, then it just depends on where you want to go and if there's room. Security also plays a big roll, and that's not always the same from one place to another.

Okay thanks for clearing that up for me! But I'm still kinda confused about one thing. Okay the "pit" tickets are $30 right? Now do you have to pay for them when you get there or online? I really want those but I doubt I can get them.

That's pretty amazing...they went so fast!
I was just doing some checking, and I think the whole show is about 2/3 full!
You can only get an orchestra section seat right now if you request just ONE ticket,
if you select TWO tickets to purchase...it doesn't show any.
And for the ONE ticket, it's in row CC, over half way back through the orchestra section.
The balcony and mezzanine are also sold all the way back past the middle of the sections...won't be too much longer!

wow...thats insane. But really...less then 2,000 seats in TINY...which is why I'm so excited for this...I fear that this may be the last time we see our band in a such a small venue...I imagine they'll move on to arenas and amphitheaters very soon. Im actually shocked we aren't buying tickets for Coors or Magness or something. But man I was just looking at the pics of the Paramount...isn't that the PERFECT venue for them? Awesome awesome.
Oh so my best friend #1 doesn't have any money and #2 isn't going to get tickets before the sell out as a result so as of now Im going alone...anyone wanna meet up super mega early with me to wait? Im thinkin like 8 AM? heh.:D

well, me and some friends are going to be getting there suuuper early too, probably not that early because of school (I dont think I could talk my family into letting me miss an entire day, but a 1/2 day probably) so if you could, could you save us a place in line perhaps if it gets reeeeally long? I doubt it will because the pit area is going to be pretty small isn't it?
I am soo excited for this I can't wait!! I read on the site no cameras allowed...=(. I love taking pictures at concerts. At least I can leave my camera in my car, and I'll have time to go get it before we wait after and meet the band <3

They did small venues on their last tour, REALLY small, and then when they came back from overseas the first time, it was mostly arenas.
But man I was just looking at the pics of the Paramount...isn't that the PERFECT venue for them? Awesome awesome.
Oh yes, seems dark and old age...and did you see that ancient organ sitting in there? Wow!
The only place I saw them play like that on the last tour was at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. It was real dark and old age, had mystery to it!
...anyone wanna meet up super mega early with me to wait? Im thinkin like 8 AM? heh.:D
I'm hoping I can see the front of the Paramount from my hotel window, so when the line starts to get long I can fly down there! :D
EDIT: if one of us EVboarders gets up front in the line, we could always let other EVboarders join
us, if it's done tactfully.
Don't want to piss everyone else off by letting groups of people come to the front of the line.
But one or two at a time, as they show up...shouldn't cause a big scene. We must stick together! Go EVBOARD!

If anyone wants me to make them one (It'll be high resolution, too) with the Ev font (or any other font, please specify) then just ask! I loooove making words with the Ev font because it requires a unique approach to each word.
ooooh could you make me one!? I had the ev font on my old computer but not on this one.

Maybe they will stay open late that night just for exiting concert goers!

Are you doing a "general" search for hotels in that area?

From the picture on the website, the arena looks beautiful. Very much like the setting for CMWYS. Very elegant with deep red / wine and silent yellow/goldish colors...
If Evanescence has more of a theatrical stage this year, this venue will acerbate the overall experience. I am jealous.

I might get one of those lil pocket type cameras just to take. since we'll be staying at a hotel bout 1/3 of a mile away, we'll more than likely walk to the show. unless it's colder than hell, then i'll drive.
My daughter wants to go to the show, but I think that a 4 year old is too young to go. Amy is like her idol. I think that i'll have my daughter draw a picture for EV and maybe if we get a chance to meet them. I can give it to them and take a pic of them with the picture she drew. so she can see they got it.

I'm going to be there with my friend :D I saw something about an after party earlier in the thread, if that's going to happen I'm going to be jealous of the people going, haha. My parents are pretty strict  Okay so I have a couple questions/ideas:
1. If we wear little tags or something are they going to be the ones Tracie posted?
2. On the camera thing, I have a disposable I thought I'd bring if the band does come out or something. I figure I'll put it in my sunglasses case in my purse, it looks just like sunglasses. Might work?
3. Does it start at 7 pm or 7:30 pm? Either way I want to be there at least an hour early so..
4. Since this thread might get kind of big, maybe we could make a list of who all's going to be there? I could do it on a freewebs page and link it here...we could even put where people are sitting? I don't know, it might be a bad idea.
5. I'm so excited!!! I hope I can meet some of you guys :D

Actually, seeing a little snow would truly be awesome. I miss the snow.
You don't ever hear anyone saying, "I miss the humidity, and the mosquitos."
But seriously, when I decided to make this trip, I thought I was a little insane myself at first.
But I've seen Evanescence in concert many times, and the small venues are truly the best.
I didn't want to miss out on that. They are not coming any where near Florida before they go overseas.

Where I live (which would be south of denver at the base of the mountains) we got 5 ft from that storm, no lie, with drifts even higher. It was really fun for the first 3 days. Wow, those guys sound great! Awesome backup vocals and harmonizing!
They are going to be playing at a local pub here where I live later in September,
maybe I'll go check em out there, up close and personal.
Besides, they're playing with Crossfade, and they are really awesome musicians!

So it'll be a group hug of 13 members. Err- 14 members. The friend that's coming with me just joined she's tears_of_blood. So...ya....
aww thats sad, I feel bad for them. I'm bringing my 13 year old sister and her friend with me, haha.
And the Revelation Theory band sounds alright. They are a bit...boring....for me, personally. But they aren't too bad, I'm sure they will have great stage presence and pump us up for Ev.

I dig em. Its funny because they sent me friend requests on myspace a long, long time ago and I kept refusing them and then finally I said screw it, and accepted them. And now they're opening for my favorite band....who knew. :D

I cracked up!Uhh. that would PISS me off like none other. then again, I am an adult and can like...go on myspace of my own free will...
Anyway, on the topic of the opening act. Ev always had fairly good supporting artists on their tours that are, if not entertaining (or in the case of Seether, another awesome band I want to go see) then they are at least tolerable while in utter anticipation for Ev.
Geez, I remember I went to a Marilyn Manson concert last year and OMG the opening act sucked. It was some chick with a Tuba and she fronted this pathetic garage band group and they tried to be gothic, but just failed.
At least Revalation Theory is good at what they do ;)

Okay so I orginally thought that all of us on here and anyone we're draging along could do something from writing a letter or drawing something and putting that together and then somehow giving it to Ev. then I read in the CD release party thread and someone mentioned that everyone could video tape there party and have someone edit it so everyone was on one DVD, like a fan version of ABH. Then the light bulb came on! I had an idea of us going to the show to video tape ourselves listening to about 5 min. of the ToD when it came out or something like that and we can have interviews too!! that could be our speacial bonus feature or our Behind the Sences. and the "Concert" fotage could be us listening to a little bit of ToD when it comes out or flooding the stores....I dont know its just some crazy idea but it would be kindda fun don't you think??
Then we would have to some how give that to Ev....

As long as its video with sound I can make it work. So is this something we want to try and pull off? We could have it have a couple of sections. Like we could start it by all of us in Colorado saying what Evanescence means to us, then maybe quickly all of us show off some stuff we have, then the record release, then perhaps we could promote it and include some of that. What needs to happen though is we need ALOT of people to get involved for it to mean something...you know?

Casa Bonita is the third circle of hell as far as I'm concerned.
We took our three boys (ages 6, 4, & 3 at the time) there a few months ago, and they thought it was bliss. Let me tell you, though, there's not enough liquor in Denver to get me to walk through those doors again for about a decade. It was surreal. Acoustics like the teacher in Charlie Brown specials, mariachi music, craptacular food (I mean, how can you make inedible salsa?!), and a guy in a gorilla suit running amok.
I think it would be a swell place if you were on LSD (or any other psychotropic drug), but for the sober and mildly buzzed, it's just scary bad.
I think finding a location on or near the 16th street mall would be the most convenient so people wouldn't have to move cars from wherever they parked for the concert (taking the free shuttle).
If nothing on the mall is going to be open or reasonable, though I've never had the pleasure to visit, I hear that Pete's Kitchen (http://www.petesrestaurantstoo.com/petesKitchen.html) on Colfax (1.5 miles / 3 mins. from the Paramount (http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=1631+Glenarm+pl+80202&daddr=1962+E+Colfax+Ave,+Denver,+CO+80206,+USA&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=15&ll=39.742405,-104.976983&spn=0.013892,0.029268)) is a great (in the sense of it's open) late night spot. Decent prices too.I've been on 16th at around midnight...the only thing that was open was the ESPN Zone and like 4 dance clubs. There are a ton of diner type places that are open all night all around. That place looks good, though wherever we go, we may want to call ahead and warn them, just to be nice.

Have you ever experienced "love bug" season in Florida?
I have a brand new car, and I hate to drive it because of the damn things.
It seems like every day I see a new species of bug, and I'm not kidding.
I'll be like, "What the hell is that??" And no one knows...it's freaky.
They just say, "Hell, I don't reckin I seen nuttin like that bufore." And then they spit, of course.

Ok guys, I have a question that is quite off topic, but I was wondering if any of you can help me out.....I was wondering what other things you can do to earn points, other than posting, if there is any. I seem to be severely lacking points and I wish to give gifts to people, yet I'm "broke." Any help? Dhamma, if this is completly a bad post I can definetly edit it and say something else about the show...I was just hoping my fellow coloradan evboarders could help me out!

Right now since the lottery isn't working. I think your only options are to win the Karaoke contest or win at the arcade. It takes a while to gain points with posts. Oh you can also hope people donate points to ya. Bout the only ways I think that you can gain alot of points really fast.
Arwen, what type of name badge do you want?

I don't have to get on the bus at 5:30, more like 6:40, but the idiots slide the windows down as far as they go. Then the freezing air blows in and I have to lug warmth clothing along that I won't need in school. Yeah so anyway I know what you mean on that one. I came back from CA and kind of went into weather shock. I don't mind the fall much, kind of dreading winter, but just a little.
And uh...exactly a month away until the concert! :D

Ok Denver thread, just thought I'd post one to keep 'er alive! A little "thread CPR" if you will!
It's still a little less than a month away, and I'm having a hell of a time figuring
out what clothes to pack, what to wear at the concert...etc.
I'm acting like a woman (you know what I mean, so don't go crazy!),
but this is going to be a SPECIAL day! Everything must be right! :D

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to wear. I got some Tripp pants and a shirt from hot topic. Still gotta find some shoes. Not sure yet what i'll wear. I think i'll end up getting a pair of converses, since i can wear those any time.

Hi Joey,
No specific rules as the sidewalk outside of the theatre is a public area. You are dedicated! See you on October 24.

Hello I just had a question regarding lining up before concerts. Is there specific time that lineups are allowed to start? I was planning on getting to the venue at about 8 or 9 AM and the show doesn't start until 7:30 PM. Thank you for your time

I am so rarely on this board, so I stopped in today to catch up on all you fabulous people that are going to the Denver show.
I am not sure on what to wear yet either. I have some kick ass boots and a shirt I am considering, but not sure about pants or skirt -- skirt or pants...::shrugs::
I am looking forward to this show a great deal. And meeting all of you.
Sarah -- keep me posted on anything you find out here if you would, my dear.
Can you believe the album is out TUESDAY? Crazy. The wait has been painful.

Those look different than mine. I dont know if it depends on the section or not, but mine are red and black i think...or brown and black I dont know one of those colors. Ive only seen them once and that was a month ago....

I was checking on Ticketmasters website and it said nothing about being able to have a camera inside the theater for the concert. I have been to a few concerts and as long as it doesnt say you cant bring in a camera, taking pictures of the band is fair game. Ive seen Deftones, Korn, Sevendust, Mudvayne, Disturbed, and Tool this year, and the only one that had "NO CAMERAS OR RECORDING DEVICES" on the ticket was Tool. Everyone else had no problem with video and picture taking.
So does anyone plan on putting together a collage of videos and pics of the Denver concert? That would be pretty cool to set something up like that and then share it on youtube or vidilife.
What do you all think?
Nick

Yeah there are always a variation of colors when it comes to these tickets. When you get them straight from TM the colors are usually white/lt. blue, if they are give aways they will be white/lt. brown, then there are the print out tickets on a regular 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I havent seen what you are describing though. Maybe you can post a pic of them/

Or yet another option...skirt over pants! haha. I don't know what I'm going to wear either, maybe just jeans and if I can find a cool top. I need someone to go shopping with. Any volunteers? :p
It's getting so close I'm dying of excitement. I'm hoping I get to meet a fair amount of you :D

I think that it said that you couldn't bring cameras into the Paramount Theater. Can't remember where I read that.

You might be right, but I would expect them to have that on the tickets. Clearly it isnt printed on the ticket. Like I wrote earlier, of all the concerts I have been to the only time cameras were not permitted, it was stated on the tickets as such. I guess if you want to abide by the rules go for it, but if you are more interested in keeping some memories I would suggest bringing a camera.
