I was reading the Toronto Sun today and they had this section of upcoming concerts and events. And under a special section that was called "Just released dates"...or something like that...it said that Ev were to be playing the Kool Haus on October 5th. I don't know if I actually believe this. A concert just two days after the release of their album?
God, I hope it is true. But I checked TicketMaster and nothing was listed for Ev. *is confused*

This is a small venue, maybe can take up to 5000 people, which will make it a more intimate setting for the concert, on the other hand, tickets for this will fly out of the door in probably the first few minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised if the tour started in small venues then went to larger ones, alot of bands do that as a warm up for larger venues, so lucky us in Toronto are probably in the first 5 concert dates that will be officially announced soon :D

Holy hell, I saw this thread, I looked at the date and I immediately flew to the tour page on Ev's site and nothing. My heart raced at about 6 beats a second, jeebus. I was about to call everyone I knew and said "Ok guys we are going to buy tickets now!" :p

There was the rumour going around my company that they were going to play the Kool Haus October 5th, but I didn't believe anyone until it was announced in the Toronto Sun.

Either way HOLAY SHIT I have it made, rotf. I can either WORK that show, or get tickets and go to it. I'll be getting tickets damnit, and I'm lucky, I don't have to camp outside to get a good position ;)

And now I get to spend the next 4-5 months begging my boss for some backstage passes. *Sigh*

Hmm ... Toronto is only a four hour drive from here. They will most likely come to Ottawa too, though (which is much closer for me). Being in a smaller crowd would most definitely be nicer, however. Perhaps if I'm really really good, and pay for the tickets myself, I'll be able to convince my parents to let me go to BOTH shows? Now that would kick ass.

They'll probably do a larger venue tour later on. All of us have to remember that they havn't been on tour for almost 2 years, more then 2 by the time the Cd is released. This is probably a promo tour to "test the waters with the fans" so to speak and make sure the set/equipment/etc; is all in check. It could also be one of those private concerts you'd need to win tickets to in order to attend - Pink did that in Montreal recently, but the Kool Haus isn't so small a venue that I'd be 100% sure that's what's going on.

yeah the kool hause isn't that small..it can hold somewhere between 2000-5000 people. that's not bad.

and yes i'm pretty sure it's in such a small venue to check everything out, equipment and music wise. a lot of bands play smaller venues at first, take Tool for example, their new cd came out not too long ago and they played the Hummingbird which was a relatively small venue as well. Radiohead is playing there soon too... ect.

hopefully their tour kicks off shortly after they play at the kool haus :D

2500 is the maximum capacity of Kool Haus for concerts. There's no way they could fit 5000 even if it were legal.

I live near toronto. I go there for concerts all the time. I can't help feel it was fate that they play the kool haus. its so small :D it'll be great. hope to see some of you there...!!

mmm Toronto. I know a great hotel in Markham that's not too expensive. Only a 9 hour drive from here too. I'll have to see when/if they are playing in this area first though.

Lol, it's a little far for me, since I live in Australia and all, but it's still exciting since it means there most likely will be a big tour following! I have already started a specific savings account so that by the time Ev come to Australia I will be able to get tickets to every show here and follow them around the country. lol, it's not stalking when they get paid for it!!!!!:D I've even worked out with my friends so that I have people who will go with me in each state. WOOT! This is fantazmical! (my made up word of the moment)

i saw ev almost two years ago at the congress theatre here in chicago and i liked the intimacy of the venue because it was smaller. and there was a higher chance of me getting to the front...which i did i had to be a bitch to do it but...i did not care. i just kinda wiggled my way forward as the crowd was moving around

Usually when a band is releasing a new cd (especially their 1st or 2nd).. they do promotional tours to small venues to promote the cd and get their name (back) in the buzz.. then they take off on a larger tour. If this date is actually a real deal, then don't freak out, they will still end up doing their huge stadium tour after.. and kool haus is very unlikely to be the only promotional stop. :)

Just thought I would say that since everyone seems to be panicing that it's too far or a school night or whatnot :)

And to the person that mentioned Ottawa... hrm, hopefully, I live in ottawa but less and less bands are playing here these days.. good chance Evanescence won't come back but we'll see. If they do it won't be until their second round of dates like last time most likely

I talked to my dad on the phone last night (he's a truck driver and all, so I don't even know where he was, LOL), and he said that if Ev comes to Ottawa, then we would go. I don't know if it'll be just him and I, seeing as how my sister claims that she hates Amy and Ev (but I don't believe her), and I don't know if my mom would want to go. When I asked him about the Toronto show, he said he didn't know, but we'll see. So, he didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either! :p I told him how much extra money I'll have to save up for October - I figure $300-$500 - and he was like WHY? Well, there's tickets (for possibly 2-3 shows :D ), posters, clothing, etc. to buy (and I plan on cleaning them out, LOL), and the new album, of course! Plus, I need a new Fallen album, as mine is pretty well worn out, and I'll buy a new ABH since everything else is going to be new.

Woo, I love spending money. Can't you tell? :D

Oh, and my uncle is co-owner of a company that does the lighting for the big shows! He told me that he tried to get Ev for their Fallen tour, but something about they changed managers again? So, he never got a hold of them. I asked him about the next tour (meaning this one), and he said that they were going to wait until the new album came out, and then they would decide. OMFG, if he could hook me up with backstage passes (and he has before - not for Ev, of course) ...

My uncle actually doesn't co-own the company (Q-1 Technologies) he works for now - he co-owned the last company he worked for - but he's still 'up there', meaning he has a strong voice and has a say in what they do. They still do lighting, rentals, and other things too. So even if his company doesn't end up doing an Ev show, there is still a chance that he could somehow get me some backstage passes or something (probably for a price, though - but I don't mind ;) ), as he knows many many people in the business.

hey backstage passes are backstages passes!! i'd pay anything for them:D .. well anything within reason! haha. Good luck with that though, and if you get them make sure to take a lot of cool pics ;)

Another opportunity to see Ev! Montreal isn't all that far from me - only about 2 1/2 - 3 hours away! I wonder how many concerts my parents will let me go to - err, I mean how many concerts my dad will let me go to, seeing as how he'll be the one going with me, haha. My mom told me the other day that she won't go and I know my sister won't go either. So it's just my dad and I. It'll be okay, though, because I think he kinda likes Ev. :D

They will. Everytime there something on thats a relatively big deal, they air like 20 more times...the actual show anyway. I'm not sure about the red carpet though.

When Amy mentioned the date last night I literally jumped up and cheered. I went into work this morning and requested the 3-5 off so I can head to Toronto. Woohoo I am so pumped, it's gonna be great!

I was reading the Toronto Sun today and they had this section of upcoming concerts and events. And under a special section that was called "Just released dates"...or something like that...it said that Ev were to be playing the Kool Haus on October 5th. I don't know if I actually believe this. A concert just two days after the release of their album?

Well considering she was in Canada, she was probably talking about the North American tour. There wouldn't have really been a point in mentioning a European tour as she was on a station that airs only in Canada, the European tour wouldn't have applied to the people that were watching at the time.

it's robably a promo tour prior to the full fledged tour they'll probably do into 2007. a lot of bands do that when they're releasing a new cd.

yeah a lot of bands do that. like the foo fighters and Tool recently played shows as the hummingbird and that's to prepare them for bigger tours

the kool haus can house about 2000-2500 people. so Ev is probab playing some smaller venues to warm up and get used to preforming again :)

Last time, I just used my driver's license...

The canadian side doesn't care much about papers, last time the guy only asked me 2 questions and nothing else. Getting into the US is a little harder most of the time. You can get in without a passport but you'll need a few papers to get in. But then again it's probably easier for a US citizen to go back to the US without a passport.

yeah it makes sense to go to kool haus starting out. everyone forgot about them by now, so they would never be able to sell out a large venue like Molson Amplitheatre. I thought they might do arrow hall again though. merh. or maybe one day we'll see them at the ACC...that place is massive! :D

Ive never actually been to the kool haus.

I cursed and cursed and cursed when I heard that they were going to be in Toronto on the fifth... I'm there for thanksgiving, which I believe will be me catching a red eye out on the 7th. I could fly out earlier possibly if I don't have any midterms then... which I won't know until it's too late.

And reading break isn't until November.

They're going to hit up a huge tour when the album is released, and like she said above, they always do at least twice as many shows in the US as they do in Canada... sometimes the only places they hit in Canada are Toronto, Montral and one or two more shows - they don't even tour the entire country.

Coming from a person who lives in NJ and HAS seen Ev in Canada, and multiple states throughout the US, I have to strongly disagree with all of you who are pretty much telling people to "Stay Out". The point of a tour is so that ALL fans can see them. This doesn't mean if you're not from the state (or country) that the show is in, that you shouldn't go. Some people never have a show near them, so they're forced to go see shows elsewhere. If someone who is not Canadian decides to buy tickets the minute tickets go onsale and someone from Canada decides they want to wait a few days to get them, then if it sells out, it's not the people's fault that bought them.

Does that mean that everyone who went to the final show in Little Rock for EvParty 2004 shouldn't have went because they were from out of state or out of the country? I think not.

Age and jobs have nothing to do with travel either. I'm 28 and work a full time job, yet find time on the weekends to hit up shows in other areas. I just went to Texas a couple of weekends ago to checkout Edgefest and in two weeks, I'm going to upstate NY (which is closer to Canada than to NJ) for Krockathon. It pretty much depends on your individual limitations.

If people are willing to travel, I say good for them. No one should be made to feel that they shouldn't be able to go somewhere or to a show if they want to.

Who cares where people are from. Lets all take in the show together as one big happy family!:D I think its cool to have a bunch of fans from random places all together at one show. I agree with Tracie btw.

and besides it's just one show.. they'll be back around Feb to play at the ACC or something. and they'll probably be back again next summer to play at some other venue.

Out here in West Texas, people have to travel hundreds of miles to see most concerts. When Ev played here in 2004, people came as far away as Dallas here in state and as far away as Albuquerque, NM. out of state to see them. The point of these concerts is for the band to make additional money. The profits from the album sales will get shared with the Wind-Up. If someone is telling people not to go to an Evanescence concert, you're taking money out of their pockets. Besides, if they sell out quickly enough, I've seen other bands either add additional dates or move to larger concert facilaties if they were available.

quick question.. I'm sorry if this quesiton has been asked already, I couldn't find it..but does Kool Haus have seats, or is it general admission?

Ive never been to Kool Haus, but its a bar I think so its all general admission. then again, because of its size (very small) its not as dangerous being GA.

maybe I should make a bunch of name tags and hand them ot around the venue. lol.

yeah the kool haus is all GA.. it holds about 2000 people. it'll be a good intimate concert :D

I was at the kool haus for New Year's Eve. It's pretty small, but that will make it even better!

if anyone's confused about this show, it is indeed happening at kool haus, but no idea when tickets will be on sale. i suggest checking mid august.

I have never been there, but from what I hear it is a smaller venue and can only hold, like 2000 people. Am I right? I read that somewhere. Anyway, that's why the tickets sell out quickly, I think. And I read on the Kool Haus info on Ticketmaster that it's general admission only, so we'll be standing.

And, just so you know, Napanee isn't exactly that much of a good tourist spot, but make sure you get a picture of the "dump city" Napanee bus if you go. I've never been, but we always pass it on the way to Toronto from here.

Tickets haven't gone on sale yet so you won't find them anywhere at this point. When they do go on sale http://www.ticketmaster.com/ should have them.

lol, I am travelling from Fort Erie (around Niagara Falls) thats like...an hour drive. WOAH so far! :D im sure theres people coming from much farther away. :P

Me and a few friends have been planning to go to that concert after Amy said something about coming to Toronto a few days after the Open Door release at the MMVA's. Hope to see some Evboard members there :D
