If you had to choose just one song in the history of music to sum up how you feel about yourself, life, and the world in general, what would it be?
Mine is Everybody's Fool, hands down.

That was my second choice just because of the second verse. But that's more specific and only with certain people. Everybody's Fool applies to absolutely everything.

Bitch by Meredith Brooks *cough* not the title! Just the rest of the song. It means I'm all those emotions and things at times, but "tomorrow I will change, and today won't mean a thing" is the best line in there, and quite accurate at times :p anyway I think all the lyrics are accurate for me, but there we are :p

"Begin Again" by Ellis
ask me your questions, go ahead / i’m not pretending to understand / so many things to say and my words fall short / i keep on thinking of how it was / we held together just because it seemed the thing to do / and we promised to
chorus: and i never once looked back / i was young and free / and i never thought about the fact / that we might see an end / and not begin again
ask me all about my life/ i’ll do my best to answer / i know there’s stuff in the way and we can’t be sure / can i trust you to be real / can i let myself reveal all the feelings i have / that i can’t ignore
chorus
if it were up to me, i’d have a big ol’ party / invite everyone who was ever close, to come / and i would find a way to make amends to those who i’d done wrong / we would catch up on our lives / and we’d have some fun / and we’d carry that night along / the hardest thing i’ve had to learn / is not everyone wants a turn in the sharing game / i won’t put myself on the line, i’ve done that too many times /and i’ve been the first one to fall down
so if you see me, and you say hello / just be sure to let me know if you want me in your life / cause everything up ‘til now, everything can be worked out / given a little time / and i never once looked back, i was so naïve / and now, i can’t think about the fact that we might see an end / and not begin again
No one has probably heard of her but you should check her out ;) She's kind of got that folk music feel which I've been into lately!

I'm starting to feel
All of my bruises imagined or real
I'll get through each day
Dip through the bad ones

And this is my beautiful life
All of a sudden now everything changes

"Is there something more than what i've been handed?

Live and Let Die - P. McCartney & Wings (covered by GnR)
When you were young and your heart was an open book,
You used to say live and let live.
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But if this ever-changing world in which we live in
Makes you give in and cry,
Say live and let die!
Live and let die, ....
What does it matter to ya,
When you've got a job to do you gotta do it well,
You gotta give the other fellow hell!
Since we can only choose one, and Phoenix Fires and guttershark picked good ones as well, I'll go with this one.

Zug Izland's Sunny Day has really been getting to me lately. Reminds of myself in alot of ways.
"Sunny Day"
Would you show me the door?
My apologies
I will slither out across the floor
I will crawl out on my knees
I'm ugly, my soul is ugly too
I have so many flaws
I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do
I hate myself because I....
I'll stand far away!
My apologies
I wouldn't wanna dull your sunny day
I'll crawl out on my knees
I'm sorry, I wreak of depression
I have so many flaws
Your happiness is my only obsession
Just you, all you
Don't blame me I never can believe how stupid I can sound
For you, only you
It's obviously my fault why can't I? And figure out what's wrong with me
Just you, all you
I can never truly make you satisfied sometimes I just wish I wasn't me
For you, only you
Maybe I'd be better off alone all I do is embarrass me
I'm nasty, I'll try not to get me on you
My apologies
God forbid, what would we do?
I'll crawl out on my knees
I'll stand far away
I have so many flaws
I wouldn't wanna dull your sunny day
My karma last night, was your dinner
My apologies
I will follow you cause your a winner
I will crawl out on my knees
You aura, it glows like toxic waste
I have so many flaws
Spit and I would lick it just to taste your presence
Just you, all you
Don't blame me I never can believe how stupid I can sound
For you, only you
It's obviously my fault why can't I ? and figure out what's wrong with me
Just you, all you
I can never truly make you satisfied sometime I just wish I wasn't me
For you, only you
Maybe I'd be better off alone all I do is embarrass me
I'm staring at your picture
Standing on the chair the rope is tied
Once I'm dead my ghost will come and haunt you
Cause it's you, that committed suicide
It's you, that committed suicide
Cause it's you, that committed suicide
When IT'S YOU THAT COMITTED SUICIDE
SAID IT'S YOU THAT COMITTED SUICIDE
Just you, all you
Don't blame me I never can believe how stupid I can sound
For you, only you
It's obviously my fault why can't I ? And figure out what's wrong with me
Just you, all you
I can never truly make you satisfied sometime I just wish I wasn't me

I feel related to live and let die by paul mccartney too,
(I'm a big fan of The Beatles and Paul McCartney's solo work too),
but since it's already taken,I'll name another song,"this boy" by The Beatles,
I feel very related to it since some time ago when something like what the
song says happened to me:
"that boy took my love away,he'll regret it some day,
this boy wants you back again.
that boy isn't good for you, though he may want you too,
this boy wants you back again.
oh and this boy would be happy just to love you, but,oh my,
that boy won't be happy till he's seen you cry.
this boy wouldn't mind the pain,he'll always feel the same,
if this boy gets you back again".
well,"this" boy would be the first person perspective,as in "me",and
"that" boy is the bad guy that got the girl instead of the good guy.
what happened to me is that I love a girl and I was afraid of telling her,
and time passed and she got a boyfriend some months ago,and I just
found out that she was interested in me 2 years ago,but she thought
it was me that was not interested and I thought it was her who was
not interested,so,I missed the oportunity of my life of being with the
person I love, and now she's with "the bad guy" and I'll wait for her forever.
if she ever leaves him,I'll be waiting. (I told her what I feel,I wrote her
a love letter, but it was too late, she said she's ok with her boyfriend and
now she doesn't want to see me again. that gives me some hope,it could
mean that deep inside she still feels something for me and since she's not
a slut and is loyal to her boyfriend, she doesn't want to see me because
both of us are going to suffer and maybe she's afraid of her own reaction
if she sees me again after the love letter incident now that she knows that
I already was in love with her 2 years ago and that stuff).
another song I feel related to is "callico skies",by paul mccartney,
"it was written that I would love you, from the moment I opened my eyes,
and the minute when I first saw you, gave me life under callico skies.
I will hold you for as long as you like,I'll love you for the rest of my life.
"
(that's the first verse and the chorus).
well,I'm remembering lots of other songs, for the lyrics fitting in what's
happening in my life now, most of them say stuff like "I try to get over you,
I try to find something new,but all I could ever do is fill my mind with
thoughts of you" ("lonely road",paul mccartney),or "your day breaks, your mind
aches, there will be times when all the things she said will fill your head,
you won't forget her" ("for no one",the beatles),but this is long and
offtopic enough already,so one more:
"anything for you" - gee,I wonder if I have to specify the artist... :)
(Evanescence, duh),I feel like saying all that stuff (I'm sure I don't have
to write the lyrics of this one) to that girl I talked about, begging her for
an oportunity and that kind of things.
ps: yes,I'm obsessed with that girl, besides, sad, angry with myself, full of
regret,("the first time I dreamed about hugging her and telling her "I love you"
I should have run to visit her and tell her!"),
depressed, feeling my life is over and I don't have a reason to keep living
because I lost my love in a very stupid way,not because she was not
interested when I started to feel things about her,but because I thought
she was not interested and she thought I was not interested, argh,it's even
more unfair than if she never loved me or something like that.
sorry for the offtopic stuff,I start to write and...well,good bye.

There are so many songs that sum up my life at any given moment. But recently though, I've been feeling like the narrator in "Delilah" by The Dresden Dolls. It's almost word for words describing my life right now, every day over and over...
"there’s no end to the love you can give
when you change your point of view underfoot
very good: you may be flat but you’re breathing
there’s no doubt he’s alone in his room
probably watching porn of you from the fall
it’s last call and you’re the last one leaving
and you thought you could change the world
by opening your legs
it isn’t very hard
try kicking them instead
and you thought you could change his mind
by changing your perfurme to the kind his mother wore
o god delilah why?
i never met a more impossible girl....
in this same bar where you slammed down your hand
and said “Amanda, i’m in love”
no you’re not
you’re just a sucker for the ones who use you
and it doesn’t matter what i say or do
the stupid bastard’s gonna have his way with you...
you’re an unrescuable schizo
or else you’re on the rag
‘cause if you take him back
i’m gonna lose my nerve
i never met a more impossible girl....
at four oclock he got off and
you called up i’m down at denny’s on route one
you won’t guess what he’s done
is that a fact delililah
larry tap let you sneak in the back
and use his calling card again
for a quick hand of gin
you are impossible, delilah: the princess of denial
and after 7 years in advertising you are none the wiser
you’re an unrescuable schizo
or else you’re on the rag
cos if you take him back
i’m gonna lose my nerve
he’s gonna beat you like a pillow
you schizos never learn
and if you take him home
you’ll get what you deserve
so don’t cry delilah
you’re still alive delilah
you need a ride delilah? let’s see how fast this thing can go.....

I'm going to be different and say the heart asks pleasure first composed by michael nyman, for the film the piano. It's one of my absolute favourite songs ever, because when I listen to it I just thing "yes.. that exactly how I feel." I've never seen the film, and I almost don't want to in case it ruins how I feel when I hear the song and see stuff from the film.
And there are no lyrics, it's just a piano and some strings.

Honestly, this is really tough. But lately, I would say either,
"Original Girl" - Melissa O'Neil
(Although, in my case, all the "she" "girl" etc... parts would be changed to "he" "boy" etc...)
And as a whole, I think it'd be,
"Anything But Me" - Lindsay Lohan

Before I've had time to run from all the other ones
And it's so hard to live a dream

As far as evanescence goes, Imaginary. Specifically, fallen version. "Don't say i'm out of touch, with this rampant chaos your reality"
But overall, Vicinity of Obsinity (can't remember how to spell it), System of a Down. If you haven't heard it, most of it consists of "Banana banana banana banana terracotta banana terracotta terracotta pie". Relation to my life: no real point and most of it is nonsensical but it's fun.

She's like a lost flower
Growing up through a crack
In the bustling sidewalk
Moving like a river so sad
So hey, where we going?
Tell me where we've gone
Was there love and fury?
Energy and passion?
So fuck your rules man
You step up, you'll go down fast
I've got to release all the shit that has made up my past
So go paint your face an
Proclaim at warrior soul
'Cause life is a brutal fight until we show
A shade of timelessness
For we are all distinct
And awaiting our transcendental release
So fuck your rules man
You step up, you'll go down fast
I've got to release all the shit that has made up my past
So go let your soul dance baby
Time to free yourself at last
Unshackle your life's spirit
Fly away from the past
'Cause it's gone
Like a lost flower
Growing with mad wind
Like a sad river
Who has no end
So fuck you rrules man
'Cause here comes my passion
So fuck your rules man
'Cause here comes my love
So fuck your rules man
Here comes pure energy
So fuck your rules man
'Cause here comes my FURY
So fuck your rules man
So fuck your rules man
So fuck your rules man
So fuck your rules man
So fuck your rules man
You step up, you'll go down fast

metaphorically speaking, From Yesterday by 30 Seconds to Mars:
"he's a stranger to some
and a vision to none.
he can never get enough,
get enough of the one.
for a fortune he'd quit,
but it's hard to admit
where it ends and begins.
on his face is a map of the world.
...from yesterday, it's coming.
from yesterday, the fear.
from yesterday, i calls him...
but he doesn't wanna read the message here."
literally speaking, Billy by James Blunt:
"holds his head in disgrace...
he can't escape the truth.
he knows the price that he's paid.
he admits that it's too late
to admit that he's afraid.
tomorrow comes, sorrow becomes his soul mate.
the damage is done, the prodigal son is too late.
old doors close, but he's always open
to relive time in his mind.
...don't know where he's going.
he's got lines on his face.
they tell the story of his pain.
he accepts it's his fate.
he admits it took too long
to admit that he was wrong."

i don't particularly like the song, but i have to say that Poetic Tragedy by The Used is quite appropriate. i'd never really listened to it until my best friend read it for a poetry project in her English class. they were supposed to select a piece of writing by whomever they wished as long as it somehow related to them or their lives in some way. she told me she chose that song because it reminded her so much of me and what i've been through.
"a singer...a writer...
he's not dreaming now of going nowhere.
he gave heed to nothing,
and all that he was is just a tragedy.
so he voyages in circles,
succeeds getting nowhere.
and submits to the substance
that first got him there.
then in violent frustration,
he cries out to God or just no one:
'is there a point to this madness?'
and all that he was is just a tragedy."

If it was from Evanescence, then it would be:
1.Missing
2.My last breath
Mainly ever since i joined the military.
If it was from any random Band, then it would be:
1.Godsmack - I stand alone
2.Metallica - Unforgiven

A year ago it was "Imaginary" but it changed.
Now it isn't easy to find the right song...but it's a bit like Who Knows-Avril Lavigne. I'm always trying to smile and to motivate my friends.

I honestly have 4 songs to describe my life, and I can't choose which one describes it better. The very first time I heard these songs I related to them straight away.
World So Cold - Mudvayne...Because of what I've been through with family members and most of my friends before, I can just relate to it on my own terms.
Descend the Shades of Night - Machine Head...Because of what I went through when I lived in Albany and how I suffered from being so depressed all the time and always felt like nothing.
Fray - Staind...The same reason as the song above^
Missing - Evanescence...When my mum and I left Albany and moved to Perth after my parents had split I could just relate to this song in my own way in every single lyric.

At this point in my life, I'd say that Sevendust's Failure is the song.
The song may have a negative title, but those who read the words to it will notice that there's an upbeat attitude to the song. It's a wonderful song, lyrically.

You're beautiful - James Blunt, because i like one girl, but she don't know me!

03-07-2006, 11:05 AM
Mad World - Tears For Fears as performed and recorded by Gary Jules.
....Another Day/ Finale B in Rent
The lyrics that made me love Rent are actually from the song Rent:
How do you leave the past behind when it keeps finding ways to get to your heart?
It reaches way down deep and tears you inside out
'Til you're torn apart.
Although there are a lot of songs that I relate to from various artists (Blue October - Hate Me, Blue October - Amnesia, Tori Amos - Leather, Tori Amos - Girl, Tori Amos - Mother, Josh Rouse - Winter in the Hamptons, Josh Rouse - Sad Eyes, The Smashing Pumpkins - Crestfallen...just to name a few) the one song to describe my life would definately have to be Winter by Tori Amos. Anyone who knows me, knows why.

Most of Evanescence's stuff can relate to me at one time or another, as I'm sure it can with everybody, so I want to think of something that's NOT Evanescence, because it's totally the obvious choice.
Probably Olympia, originally done by Rancid but I like the redone version by NOFX better...I was born in Washington State and it's beautiful, and Olympia is my favorite city in the WORLD! The whole song is about wanting to make it back there, away from all of the big-city stuff (because Olympia's more like, a town.../small city-ish.) I think that that song is my theme song..

just one... well, for me have to be "puede ser" from El canto del loco
one of the most beautiful songs if hear in my life.. makes me sad and happy
let me show you the lyrics in english
I do not know if friends stay
or exists love
If I can be provided with you
to speak about pain
If it exists someone to hear that When I lift the voice
not to feel only
It can be that the life guides until the sun
Can be that the evil dominates your hours
O that all your laugh gains him
this pulse to the pain
Can be that the bad thing is today
You are born and live alone
I am doing my plans
know who I am
I am looking for my part
And loosing the control
They are playing with you
they Are breaking your love
Go leaving you
It can be that the life guides until the sun
Can be that the evil dominates your hours
O that all your laugh gains him
this pulse to the pain
sorry my bad english.. but i wanna to share this song with the rest of you :)

Breathe no more is DEFINATELY mine too. Ever since the first time I heard it. I'm surprized to see how many people picked it, thats so cool.
Second place would be By Myself by Linkin Park...
What do I do to ignore them behind me?
Do I follow my instincts blindly?
Do I hide my pride / from these bad dreams
And give in to sad thoughts that are maddening?
Do I / sit here and try to stand it?
Or do I / try to catch them red - handed?
Do I trust some and get fooled by phoniness,
Or do I trust nobody and live in loneliness?
Because I can’t hold on / when I’m stretched so thin
I make the right moves but I’m lost within
I put on my daily façade but then
I just end up getting hurt again
by myself [myself]
I ask why, but in my mind
I find I can’t rely on myself
I can’t hold on
To what I want when I’m stretched so thin
It’s all too much to take in
I can’t hold on
To anything watching everything spin
With thoughts of failure sinking in
If I
Turn my back I’m defenseless
And to go blindly seems senseless
If I hide my pride and let it all go on / then they’ll
Take from me ‘till everything is gone
If I let them go I’ll be outdone
But if I try to catch them I’ll be outrun
If I’m killed by the questions like a cancer
Then I’ll be buried in the silence of the answer
How do you think / I’ve lost so much
I’m so afraid / I’m out of touch
How do you expect / I will know what to do
When all I know / Is what you tell me to
Don’t you (know)
I can’t tell you how to make it (go)
No matter what I do, how hard I (try)
I can’t seem to convince myself (why)
I’m stuck on the outside

It changes a lot, but currently, it has to be "Defying Gravity" from Wicked.
(I trimmed it down a bit.. there was some dialogue in it.)
Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!
It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!
GLINDA
Can't I make you understand?
You're having delusions of grandeur:
ELPHABA
I'm through accepting limits
'Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down:
So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky!
As someone told me lately:
"Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me
Tell them how I am
Defying gravity
I'm flying high
Defying gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

and dread the day when dreaming ends?

Hmm...I can't think of one. I think that you cannot find a song that describes a life because life is fluent. One day is one thing, the other is other. So you have to keep your song opdated if you want it to describe your life.
so, no, there is no song that describes my life or it's never been writen.
I cannot actually put any song to describe my one or other aspect of life.
Songs for me, are state of my mind. Nothing else.
And i listen to whatever song that fits my state of mind. Simple.
If i'm in destruction mood i'll go for Use Your Illusion I,
if i'm in happy mood i'll find something
If i'm in creepy mood i'll go for One, Entersandman by Metallica, When the music's over, The End by The Doors or The Hunted, Whisper by Evanescence

To all of you that keep naming more than one song, come on, give it a little more thought. Took me a while but I got it. "It isn't hard to do"...and with that quote, I name my song (good thing it wasn't mentioned)...
John Lennon - "Imagine"
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

No Doubt. Especially when the first two people after we post the reminder of ONE, still choose more than one.
I really think we should set up an english comprehension test that you have to score at least 10 percent on to be able to join this board. Like... it should a requirement to know how to count to three.

04-09-2006, 09:48 PM
so many but it has come down to four. 2 are garbage and both from the bleed like me album and the other is by kt tunstall
WHISPER has been my fav since i heard it it has helped me so much and given so much strength to me
garbage happy home
In my lover's arms I wait for morning
I beg my god to speak and tear me apart
I'd lay down my body I'd lay down my arms
I never once in my sweet short life meant anybody harm
garbage the boys wanna fight
They know best how they can mess with us
Nursing an opinion's getting dangerous
And in a world where good's not good enough
Let's get loaded and kick up a fuss
and finally
kt tunstalls's suddenly i see. it was one of those songs that once you've heard it strikes a cord within you and sticks with you
Her face is a map of the world, is a map of the world
You can see she’s a beautiful girl, she’s a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
People who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She’ll hold you captivated in her palm
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) this is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me
(Suddenly I see) This is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me
I feel like walking the world like, like walking the world
You can hear she’s a beautiful girl, she’s a beautiful girl
She fills up every corner like she’s born in black and white
Makes you feel warmer when you’re trying to remember what you heard
She likes to leave you hanging on her word
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) this is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me
(Suddenly I see) This is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me
And she’s taller than most, and she’s looking at me
I can see her eyes looking from the page of a magazine
She makes me feel like I could be a tower, big strong tower yeah
The power to be
The power to give
The power to see, yeah, yeah (Suddenly I see)
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see, yeah, yeah (Suddenly I see)
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see, yeah, yeah, yeah (Suddenly I see)
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see, yeah, yeah (Suddenly I see)
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see, yeah, yeah
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) this is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me
(Suddenly I see) This is what I want to be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) why the hell it means so much to me

Hmm... well I can't actually think of an entire song, but there is a phrase of lyrics from Natasha Bedingfield's song "Unwritten", that pretty much sums me up in entirety. The lyrics are "I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined..." It's not much. But I am spontaneous, people can't figure me out, and I'm unique that there really is no one else who is similar to me.

Lots of runners up but the song of my life has to be 'Got It Made' by Seether
"So I said this once before,
I'm never gonna give you in, no, not again,
'Cause I've wasted all I've known,
To watch it fade and slip away, now, from my hands,
And what I have I have in mind,
And I think about you all the time,
I'm feeling miles away, you think I've got it made,
I don't belong here,
I'm feeling like a candle, burning at both ends,
I don't belong here
Now I hide myself away,
I never want to feel again, no, not again,
'Cause I faced this all alone,
I let it seep and wash away, now, it's all the same,
Never run away, son"
I was going to just type the chorus but every word of it is important, so apologies for the long post.

Lately, i'd probably say Hyperballad by Bjork. Bit of an odd choice, but its weird the things i can relate to :P
"we live on a mountain
right at the top
there's a beautiful view
from the top of the mountain
every morning I walk towards the edge
and throw little things off
like: car-parts, bottles and cutlery
or whatever I find lying around
it's become a habit
a way
to start the day
I go through all this
before you wake up
so I can feel happier
to be safe up here with you
it's real early morning
no-one is awake
I'm back at my cliff, still throwing things off
I listen to the sounds they make
on their way down
I follow with my eyes 'til they crash
imagine what my body would sound like
slamming against those rocks
and when it lands
will my eyes be closed or open?
I go through all this
before you wake up
so I can feel happier
to be safe up here with you"

Crossfade - Colors
"Can you feel it crush you does it seem to bring the worst in you out
There's no running away from these things that hold you down
Do they complicate you because they make you feel like this
Of all the colors that you've shine this is surely not your best
But you should know these colors that you're shining are
Surely not the best colors that you shine
Surely not the best colors that you shine
I know you feel alone yeah and no one else can figure you out
But don't you ever turn away from the ones that help you down
Well they'd love to save you don't you know they love to see you smile
But these colors that you've shined are surely not your style
But you should know these colors that you're shining are
Surely not the best colors that you shine
Surely not the best colors that you shine
I know you're feeling like you're lost
But you should know these colors that you're shining are
I know you're feeling like you're lost you feel you've drifted way too far
Did you know these colors that you’re shining are
Surely not the best colors that you shine
Surely not the best colors that you shine
(Surely not the best)
I know you're feeling like you're lost
(Colors that you shine)
But you should know these colors that you're shining are

I know you're feeling like you're lost you feel you've drifted way too far

System of a Down
B.Y.O.B
-Bring Your Own Bomb-
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR?!
Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels
Victorious victories kneel
For brand new spankin' deals
Marching forward hypocrite and
Hypnotic computers
you depend on our protection
Yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth
lalalalalalala lala
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions
Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to absolution
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
{x2}
Blast off
It's party time
And we don't live in a fascist nation
Blast off
It's part time
And where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? x4
Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our Intentions
Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to absolution
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
Everybody's going to the party
have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Everybody's going to the party
have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sun
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

Why do they always send the poor? x6

You Cant Stop the Beat, from Hairspray!
You cant stop an avalanche
As it races down the hill
You can try to stop the seasons, girl
But ya know you never will
And you can try to stop my dancin' feet
But i just cannot stand still
'Cause the world keeps spinning
'Round and 'round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost til i heard the drums
Then i found my way
'Cause you can't stop the beat
Ever since this old world began
A woman found out if she shook it
She could shake up a man
And so i'm gonna shake and shimmy it
The best that i can today
'Cause you cant stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the sun in the sky
You can wonder if you wanna
But i never ask why
And if you try to hold me down
I'm gonna spit in your eye and say
That you cant stop the beat!
I am now a checkerboard chick!
You can't stop a river
As it rushes to the sea
You can try and stop the hands of time
But ya know it just can't be
And if they try to stop us, seaweed,
I'll call the n - double-a - n - p!
'Cause the world keeps spinning
'Round and 'round.
'Round and 'round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
Speed of sound
I was lost till i heard the drums
Then i found my way
'Cause you can't stop the beat
Ever since we first saw the light
A man and woman liked to shake it
On a saturday night
And so i'm gonna shake and shimmy it
With all my might today
'Cause you cant stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the rain from above
They can try to stop the paradise
We're dreaming of
But they cannot stop the rhythm
Of two hearts in love to stay
'Cause you cant stop the beat!
Tracy, I have a little something
I'd like to add, if you don't mind.
You cant stop my happiness
'Cause i like the way i am
And you just can't stop my knife and fork
When i see a christmas ham
So if you don't like the way i look
Well, i |ust don't give a damn!
'Cause the world keeps spinning
'Round and 'round
And my heart's keeping time
To the speed of sound
I was lost til i heard the drums
Then i found my way
'Cause you cant stop the beat
Ever since this old world began
A woman found out if she shook it
She could shake up a man
And so i'm gonna shake and shimmy it
The best that i can today
'Cause you cant stop
The motion of the ocean
Or the sun in the sky
You can wonder if you wanna
But i never ask why
And if you try to hold me down
I'm gonna spit in your eye and say
That you cant stop the beat!

I don't know, a lot of songs do for me, especially with certain moods and things like that, but I have a few at this point:
Going Under- Evanescence
Everybody's Fool- Evanescence
My Immortal- Evanescence
...but Home is Nowhere- AFI
This Time Imperfect- AFI
Animal I've Become- Three Days Grace
I have a lot, so I really can't just pick one, but hey, I narrowed it down though. That's pretty good, right? >.<

mine would have to be either be "hello" or "field of innocence" both I can relate to hardcore. The lines "Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken" has been my tagline since i've heard the song in 2003 and before that was "Where has my heart gone, an uneven trade for the real world". So does it matter that I used both? I guess hello would be be my first...and foi would come close second...

Darren Hayes - Unlovable.
Are my lips unkissable?
Are my eyes unlookable?
Is my skin untouchable?
Am I unlovable?
Cynical, jaded, faithless, disappointed, disillusioned, used
If I could take back all my sweat, my tears, my sex, my joy I would
My time, my love, my effort, passion, dedication
In a case of mistaken identity I gave these things to you
If I sound angry, bitter, sad, infatuated, it's the truth
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, just a few
Stages of acceptance that it's really over
It's just so complicated and I'm stupid for believing in you
You make me feel like my father never loved me
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
Am I so unlovable?
Is my skin untouchable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you don't like?
I had your back, I held you up,
I told you you were good enough
It was not reciprocated, you kept affection and yourself apart
You fed your love to me like crumbs to pigeons in the park
Sometimes I think you're satisfied to
see me begging like a dog
I wasn't armoured, you were king, I gave my everything
Because sometimes you showed me
just a hint of you and then
For just a moment I romanticised the notion
I can take away the torment,
I can love you like they never did
You make me feel like my father never loved me
(you never loved me)
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
(I felt so empty)
Am I so unlovable?
Is my skin untouchable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you don't like?
You make me feel like my mother, she abandoned me
(you abandoned me)
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
(I felt so empty)
Am I so unlovable?
Is my heart unbreakable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you despise?
Are my lips unkissable?
Are my eyes unlookable?
Is my sex undoable?
Am I unlovable?
Are my words unlistenable?
Are my hands untouchable?
Am I undesirable?
Am I unlovable?
You make me feel like my father never loved me
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
Am I so unlovable?
Is my skin untouchable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you don't like?
You make me feel like my father never loved me
(you never loved me)
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
(I felt so empty)
Am I so unlovable?
Is my skin untouchable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you don't like?
You make me feel like my mother, she abandoned me
(you abandoned me)
You make me feel like the act of love is empty
(I felt so empty)
Am I so unlovable?
Is my heart unbreakable?
Do I remind you of a part of you that you despise?
You make me feel like my father never loved me
(you never loved me)
You make me feel like my mother, she abandoned me

Can I pleeeeease name two?? PLEASE??
One is Apathetic Way to Be by Relient K.
Yeah I'm not angry, and no I'm not upset
It's taken me awhile but this is what I've learned
Emotional attachment is really not a threat
When I'm simply not concerned
The things that I take on I soon shrug off
Cause I know no one will ever be content
With the way things are or with what they've got
So I've given up and now I'm just indifferent
You all laugh at me like I'm not happy
With anything, any time, anywhere
And the half of me's all about apathy
And the other half just doesn't care
I must admit, all the words you spoke I hated
Cause I don't see just how I can be motivated
Enough to break a sweat over a dying race
It seems our fate is something we've already embraced
Yeah I'm not angry, and no I'm not upset
It's taken me awhile but this is what I've learned
Emotional attachment is really not a threat
When I'm simply not concerned
You all laugh at me like I'm not happy
With anything, any time, anywhere
And the half of me's all about apathy
And the other half just doesn't care
Yeah, being apathetic's a pathetic way to be
But I don't care
What matters to you does not matter to me
Cause I don't care
So take a wild guess
It's like I just couldn't care less
If all the things you find impressive
Just blew up and made those messes
That you'll frantically repair
Like it's a life or death affair
And all the while you're unaware
For this, you really shouldn't care
But it's so hard to see the reality
That the end will be the end of things
And our hearts are all we get to bring
So let's go ahead and make them worth something
You all laugh at me like I'm not happy
With anything, any time, anywhere
And the half of me's all about apathy
And the other half just doesn't care
You all laugh at me like I'm not happy
With anything, any time, anywhere
And the half of me's all about apathy
And the other half just doesn't care
I'm well aware that everything
Is a far cry from all right
I'm well aware that all of us
Can at times, be too uptight
And possibly, the remedy
Is a dose of apathy
You point your finger at you
I'll point mine right back at me
The other is Be My Escape by the same band.
I’ve given up on giving up slowly
I’m blending in so you won’t even know me
Apart from this whole world that shares my fate
This one last bullet you mentioned
Is my one last shot at redemption
Cause I know to live you must give your life away
I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while You hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go
Promise I’m going because
I gotta get outta here
I’m stuck inside this rut that I fell into by mistake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging you, I’m begging you, I’m begging you to be my escape.
I’m giving up on doing this alone now
Cause I’ve failed and I’m ready to be shown how
He’s told me the way and I’m trying to get there
And this life sentence that I’m serving
I admit that I’m every bit deserving
But the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair
Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while You hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go
Promise I’m going because
I gotta get outta here
Cause I’m afraid that this complacency is something I can’t shake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging you, I’m begging you, I’m begging you to be my escape
I am a hostage to my own humanity
Self detained and forced to live in this mess I’ve made
And all I’m asking is for you to do what You can with me
But I can’t ask you to give what You already gave
Cause I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while you hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there’s no way in knowing where to go
Promise I’m going because
I gotta get outta here
I’m stuck inside this rut that I fell into by mistake
I gotta get outta here
And I’m begging You, I’m begging You, I’m begging you to be my escape
I fought you for so long
I should have let You in
Oh how we regret those things we do
And all I was trying to do was save my own skin
But so were you, so were you

My song's Field of Innocence at the moment, although that's only just changed from My Immortal, When I was 15/16 my song was Anything for you, When I was 19 my song was Forever Gone forever you, from 13-15 my song was Solitude - Heh, my life can be explained in Ev songs, that can't be good.

My Immortal. Any version of it.
Reasons--> I'm in love with my girlfriend, whom I'd say stands out to me above anyone else...using exerpts from the song:
"I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my childish fears", I'm just sick and tired of feeling pain in my heart from the pride, yet it's sometimes childish to want them to go away, because with something as good as what I've got, it has a price.
"And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave, cause your presence still lingers here, and it won't leave me alone"
--> Her computer is...well...it crashed. Now I can't speak to her, and I have the hope and knowledge that she will come back, and I will cry from tears of joy. But until then, I can't stop thinking of her, she's all that's on my mind, almost as if she's here with me right now...*checks out his window, then sighs the words "damn..."* At work, at school, no matter where. I've grown so accustomed to having her to talk to and now she can't come on at the moment...
We all know the chorus to the song...basically yeah. I would do anything for her, no matter the cost. I would answer her call, catch her if she falls, wipe away her sadness-caused tears, chase away the nightmarish fears...and if possible...I would marry her.
"You used to .... you left behind"...Well not so much "USED" to captivate me...she still does. And hey on MSN...I'm awaiting her to sign in >_< Everytime someone signs in I open the window and go "OMG YAY YOURE BACK!"...because I think it's her on the other end.
"Your face........all the sanity in me". Hey. I heard her speak, I've seen her face. Now I dream about it, longing for it.
The bridge: Well I just can't believe that damn computer's busted...but I'm referring to the Mystery Version lyrics for this part. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere without wanting to bring her with me.
So there's my love life. A lost cause. She's 2 countries away yet I want to marry her. I don't care about looks, sound, or nationality...or just check out
and find my post. No need for me to type it all again...
p.s....don't mind me. I'm in the sadness part of the ordeal.

Mine would have to be "Where Will You Go" by Evanescence. That used to be me, completely. Still is in many ways, even though I'm trying to get better. It just felt like she was talking directly to me, and it just struck such a chord that I'm still kind of emotional when it comes to that song.
And I'm also going to jump on the bandwagon and say "Fields of Innocence" for the same reasons. Bring Me To Life, too.

But One Thing's For Sure
You're Always In My Heart

one song...... that's hard I have so many....
is it ok to pick an Ev one and a non-Ev one?
1. Evanescence: Going Under
2. Nightwish: Bless the Child
Nightwish: Bless the child.
Lyrics by Tuomas Holopainen
Bless The Child (Century Child)
"I was born amidst the purple waterfalls.
I was weak, yet not unblessed.
Dead to the world. Alive for the journey.
One night I dreamt a white rose withering,
a newborn drowning a lifetime loneliness.
I dreamt all my future. Relived my past.
A witnessed the beauty of the beast"
Where have all the feelings gone?
Why has all the laughter ceased?
Why am I loved only when I'm gone?
Gone back in time to bless the child
Think of me long enough to make a memory
Come bless the child one more time
How can I ever feel again?
Given the chance would I return?
I've never felt so alone in my life
As I drank from a cup which was counting my time
There's a poison drop in this cup of Man
To drink it is to follow the left hand path
"Where have all the feelings gone?
Why is the deadliest sin - to love as I loved you?
Now unblessed, homesick in time,
soon to be freed from care, from human pain.
My tale is the most bitter truth:
Time pays us but with earth & dust, and a dark, silent grave.
Remember, my child: Without innocence the cross is only iron,
hope is only an illusion & Ocean Soul's nothing but a name...
The Child bless thee & keep thee forever"
I mostly picked this song, because of this line!
Why am I loved only when I'm gone?

This will probably change...
but right now it's Time and Time Again by Chronic Future
Inspiring, shining, rising
And when you're in my way
I'm not dividing me from you cause we're working together
Perfect in its splendor like the currents of the weather
The splinter in my center hindering all of my pleasure
Is me manifested as you in this endeavor
Once responsibility is taken I can render
Experience to be however I want to remember
Time and time again we fall in to the depths of who we are
But you can't keep running away from what you're trying to find
Put yourself through the scariest of scenarios
Enter experiences you normally wouldn't dare to go
It's all for the character and the aroogant afterglow
Of knowing it's appearance according to your patterns of growth
And what your parents handed down to you to handle
Make sure you carry torches when they're puttin out your candles
Prediction can be unkind but unwind them still
Don't erase the part of you that's responsible for your will
Time and time again we fall into the depths of who we are
But you can't keep running away from what you're trying to find
Time and time again we fall into the depths of who we are
But you cant keep running away from what youre tryning to find
Well I've seen you and those things you do
And the way you hide that shadow can't be good for you
Your dark defines your light
There's some utterly damaged particles to deal with
And if I stutter I'm sorry but it's hard to feel swift
When stuck in my stomach is a cannon ball anchor to life
I've been pushing it down pretending it doesn't exist
Well this is what happens when you're pissed about being pissed
You dig yourself so deep you resist just to resist
And there's no way to get back experiences that you missed
So start right now today and risk furiousness for bliss
Time and time again we fall into the depths of who we are
But you can't keep running away from what you're trying to find
Time and time again we fall into the depths of who we are
But you cant keep running away from what youre trying to find
Time and time again we fall into the depths of who we are(2x)
But you cant keep running away from what youre tryning to find(2x)

Everything about you is how I'd wanna' be
Your freedom comes naturally
Everything about you resonates happiness
Now I won't settle for less
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind
Everything about you pains my envying
Your soul can't hate anything
Everything about you is so easy to love
They're watching you from above
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind
I want the peace and joy in your mind
Give me the peace and joy in your mind
Everything about you resonates happiness
Now I won't settle for less
Give me all the peace and joy in your mind

There are many songs that are a good representation of my life...
I will say that "Fully Alive" by Flyleaf is a good one that portrays me pretty well. I used to be really, really down and everything seemed to be wrong, but in recent months everything has been near perfect... It goes so much more deeper than that, but yeah... this song pretty much says it all.
Telling Layla's story spoken
'Bout how all her bones are broken
Hammers fall on all the pieces
Two months in the cover creases
Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in futures
All my complaints shrink to nothing
I'm ashamed of all my somethings
She's glad for one day of comfort
Only because she has suffered
Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in futures
Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in futures
Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in futures

Title: Chasing Cars
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace

Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
