the day before yesterday it started storming. it was just sheet lightning and the thunder was just a low rumble, so im guessing the actual storm was either a really shit one, or it was far away somewhere else.
i saw on newsround (there was nothing else on!) that some guy was killed the other night because he was struck by lightning, and a couple of girls were also injured because they were struck too...scary stuff. especially for me...i kack myself when it storms usually :p

Yeah, we've been getting thunderstorms in Liverpool too, every night for three days on the run now. Are thunder storms happening all over England now? I am sensing a 'Day After Tomorrow' scene happening soon. I call dibs on getting Jake Gyllenhaal! ;)

They had really bad storms in west london the other day, lots of floods, underground stations and roads had to be closed. One girl got struck by lightening and was in a critical condition :(
I live in East London and it's been absoutely fine here (watchit pour with rain now lol).
We here in Liverpool had some amazing thunder earlier on today. It was really, and I mean really loud! Storms rock! \m/(-.-)\m/
I just hope it rains before I go to sleep, I love to fall asleep listening to the rain.

Ho...ly... shit. That's all I can say.
I went out loads today, it was warm as fuck. Then I went to my friend's house before we went down town for the night. As soon as we left his house, it started proper pissing it down with rain, and then we saw lightning and I was like "shiiiiiit, let's go get shelter quick!"
Anyway, me and my friend ended up legging it while the others just walked at a normal pace. It's amazing how wet they were when they finally caught up to this pub we went in.
But, yeah, the rain caught us at a pretty good time. Damnit.

It's really weird, because over here in Swansea, the weather is really hot but really humid, and we've only had the one storm so far. Apparently the weather is supposed to be crap tomorrow. At least for the moment we're actually getting some SUMMER weather!!
I can't remember. Are storms supposed to be a depression or the other thing? Damn, I used to be so good at weather things...

the storms have been quite crap over here recently. yesterday i thought something really big was brewing up because everything went dark and it was windy blah blah blah, but then the blue skies came back and i could see a big black cloud in the distance which would ocassionally be lit up by lightning. thats probably the storm you guys were in. i generally hate storms but man... IF YOUR GONNA GET ALL DARK N FREAKY YOU MIGHT ASWELL GIVE US SOME REAL STORM
just thought i'd add, i read somewhere that anyone with asthma is more at risk of having an asthma attack now, because the storms are breaking the pollen down and making it easier to inhale or something. my sisters friend died last week of a severe asthma attack and it couldve been prevented if he had known this. :(

thats really sad Mindy about your sisters friend send my regards :) i think it is only dangerous for people with bad cases of asthma but dont quote me on that. if you are still scared just look it up, and check ways of preventing attacks. i think allergy medication helps, but again dont quote me on that :p
just found this (http://www.health24.com/news/Asthma/1-892,28063.asp)
Asthma (http://www.health24.com/news/Asthma/1-892.asp)
Why thunderstorms trigger asthma17/6/2004Since the air always seems fresher after a thunderstorm, ever wonder why some people with asthma find their conditions get worse, not better?
In high-profile examples, there were notably larger numbers of asthma attacks after 1987 storms in Melbourne, Australia, and 1994 storms in London. A report in the International Archives of Allergy and Immunology explains the relationship.
Grass pollen is a common allergen that can trigger hay fever and asthma attacks. But grass pollen granules themselves are usually too large to find their way deep into the lungs, which could cause an even more severe attack. But when they are exposed to water, the pollen grains break up. And when this happens, each pollen granule releases as many as 700 starch particles. These particles contain the real allergen, and they're small enough to work their way deep into the lungs. – (HealthDayNews) thanks for the kind regards Diane :) im sure she'll appreciate them.

eep! damn, poor guy! :(
when i was small (dunno how old, don't remember it at all though, so probably very young) i had pneumonia and my left lung collapsed, i had asthma for years, had to have an inhaler as well. i stopped using it around the first few years of junior school, still have it though i think so i hope i'll be ok *just incase* !

thender and lightning, so very very very frightning
me and my mum went to the salon and as we got out it absolutely pissed it down. we had to run the car as fast as we could home cus the washing was out and we got home to late and everyting was absolutely pissed through. so anyway we pulled in the drive way i ran out the car, unlocked the door and ran in and my mum was trapped cus it started hail stoning and the hail stoning got worse and the stones turned into pebble size! she eventually got in and she was shook up cus she was scared to death. the rain was that bad that when you went off the pavement it went over your shoe cus i live on a coldy-sac and it all joined up at the bottom. thats the worst storm we had. i do enjoy em tho.

i guess i'm not to keen on the summer atm, the rain doesn't help either!
