That lineup is horrendous although I am not at all surprised. Last years lineup was infinitely better, and 2004 was better still. No way am I going this year.

That's funny, I thought the past few years have been crap and this one was lookin up. I love System of a Down and Disturbed. Oh well, people are entitled to their own opinion, I guess.

System of a Down are ok, but disturbed are formulaic, boring, and predictable. Lacuna Coil and Strapping Young Lad are good bands but other than that it's just a bunch of generic nu-metal and metalcore bands. Two good bands are not enough to justify the ticket prices, especially when they'll both get short sets. Nothing this year can compare to metal legends like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Slayer (2004) or Sabbath and Iron Maiden (2005). After $HARON's egg-throwing last year I expected this year's lineup to suck.

I agree, those are the only two bands I like. But I'd really like to see Lacuna Coil.

Well, they're the first band on the main stage so that means they'll probably get about a 30 minute set. I wish they'd do a headline tour although I understand they're trying to get more exposure and Ozzfest will give them that. Maybe after Ozzfest they'll do a headline tour or at least tour with some good bands.

Ozzy Osbourne - Iron Maiden Are "Fucking Trouble"
(10/03/06 SMN news)

The following are some "highlights" from today's Howard Stern show featuring Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne:

Sharon said that Ronnie James Dio was a midget.

Ozzy said that he told Sharon, "don't put them on the tour because they are fucking trouble," refering to IRON MAIDEN.

In between disgraceful attacks on the legendary band, Sharon revealed that IRON MAIDEN were paid $185,000 a night.

It was revealed that BLACK SABBATH are not performing at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because supposedly Tony Iommi doesn't want to perform.

Ozzy said that the reason he is going to the ceremony is because of the other members of the band, but that he still feels the same as he did in 1999 about the Hall.

METALLICA will be inducting the band and covering two BLACK SABBATH songs.

AND more on OZZFEST 2006...
Founder and namesake OZZY OSBOURNE is set to headline just 10 shows this summer. Why? "Because after 10 years I feel it's time to let someone else share the headlining spotlight. We want to shake it up a bit this year" says OZZY. "I've closed virtually every OZZfest performance for a decade now and I feel I can finally let other artists headline our festival and that's my intention for the future."

This year's main stage lineup features headliner SYSTEM OF A DOWN and such formidable artists as DISTURBED, HATEBREED and LACUNA COIL. Fans can also expect a major main stage addition to be revealed on May 23rd.

And the newly revealed first stage bands are...

Avenged Sevenfold and DragonForce.

Mildly disappointing. But SOAD is still going.

Dragonforce are good but I can't stand Avenged Sevenfold.

As for the other bands, the only one's that I'd be interested in seeing would be Strapping Young Lad and All That Remains.

Wow... going to an Ozzfest should be amazing. :D
Not so many great bands as I would like to see... but Black Label Society, and Lacuna Coil (?) are great bands and really desirve to be there.
And of course, see Ozzy Osbourne is something. ;)
I just wish I could see another Iron Maiden's concert. They rock alive.
