What is that? What's the difference between them and Private Messages? I couldn't find any discussion on this feature.

Pager messages are more like an IM on the board. Text only and limited in size, they are perfect for a short message. There's also an option to set where you want the recipient to be able to reply (and continue the conversation) or make it a one way message.

Looks very useful. How many of them are we allowed to store?

But...can everyone send a pager message to anyone?I mean...is it necessary to be a paid subscriber or a member to send a pager message?And...can everyone receive this kind of messages?
thanks

I sent Amy Lee one. ;D
Oh was I not supposed to say that. I'd hate for the feature to be disabled and have mine be like, the only message she has. <333.

So, does the person have to be online at the time the message is sent in order to receive it, or...?

The recipient gets a pop up on the next page load whether it's the next second or the next month. The system also automatically tracks whether the messages have been received.
Sounds like a good ol' PM to me. :\

It's quicker and less cumbersome. No subject required, etc. but there's a character limit. If you're writing a tome, send a PM. If you just want to say 'waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasup?', send a pager message.
The differences are subtle yet profound. Yes, I said it, profound.

It says that I have an Unread Pager Message but when I open it it says that I don't have any in my Inbox. :(
*edit*
OK a pager message won't appear in the inbox until you've seen the popup I guess. I tried turning off popups but that didn't help. However I jumped to my laptop which has a different version of IE and the popup came up (even with the same blocker running). Now I can see the pager message in my inbox. So pager doesn't work for IE 5.50SP1 (no surprise there!) and FF 1.04. Bummer :(

Yes, you'll have to exempt evboard.com from your pop up blocker settings (if any).

Is the option for reply only available when both persons are online?

The person who initiates have the option to check or uncheck "Allow Reply".

I think it's really useful. It's so much quicker.

Us paid Subscribers pay for all these additions to the board you know! :p

Is there meant to be a reply button?, as there isn't at the moment.
BTW pager messages are the best way to have silly bitch-fights IMO. ;)

Whoa..I received like 4 pager messages, and I change my mind, I love and enjoy them more then PM's. hahaha...
You can choose if the other person you send a pager to, can reply or not. It's pretty nifty.

I think it might just be that IE 5.5 can't do the popup for some reason. I got the pager popup in IE 6 even though my blocker was turned on. I'll just have to use my laptop when I get pages *nods*

OK. Paid Subscribers should now have the option to allow (or disallow) a reply when sending Pager Messages. Can one of you test it out and confirm please?

Yes, the "Allow Reply" option shows up now. :)
