Tickets are on sale saturday May 15th! 40$ each!! Not sure yet if I'll go see them again or not. I'm already going to see Finger Eleven 5 days before that! So one show per week is enough for me :)

I'm not completely sure about that. The molson amp show goes on sale Friday for a july 18 show. Maybe it'll be listed in a few days.

I‘d suggest you to bring your camera if you want to take pictures.
I remember when I went to their show at the Bell center they said cameras aren't allowed but I had one anyways.

Il y a comme une énorme différence de popularité entre les 2 shows, pis en plus Evanescence est la semaine! tk j'était a Métallica l'année passer. Les portes ouvrait à 1:30hrs mesemble pis jsuis arrivé vers 11:30. J'était collé au stage, mais c'est surtout parce que cest pas tout le monde qui se sont garocher la! Beaucoup de gens sont allé se mettre sur la coline ou au endroit ou qu'il y a du gazon. Je croit que 1hrs en avance c'est assez pour Evanescence, mais bon c'est juste moi qui pense dememe!

I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to bring cameras. There was a list somewhere that said what you couldnt bring. I'll try to find it.

Cameras are prohibited during those shows but they won't search for cameras on you unless you have a backpack for exemple.. or if you have it in your hands of course :p

They always say that. They aren't gonna strip search you to find your cam. Put it in a place they won't search and you'll be fine. They are gonna search bags that's for sure. If you want to put it there, here's a little suggestion. Wrap it on a shirt and put the shirt at the bottom of the bag. They'll touch the shirt, but won't take it out! That's what I usually do. I mean you never know when it will get cold and you'll need another shirt ;)

Funny thing about that warning. When I used to go to wrestling shows at the molson center, they always had that warning. When you get there the announcer says you can take all the pictures you want but can't sell them! Miscommunication I think :)

I don't want to sound mean but Evanescence is not as crazy as radiohead was and my best friend went last year. They brought a cooler. A camera in a nap sack won't be easy to find. especially if your early. I'll bump you up - check PM's...

the door opens at 1 officially, but they usually start around 12:30 because of the amount of people, loading us in that is ;)

I don't know if it's true and official but it seems that there is 2 more opening band than what was planned originaly. So we would have those 2 bands plus Three Days Grace plus Breaking Benjamin plus Seether plus Evanescence.

6 bands... and I was wondering today, there's a municipal rule which says all noise must stop at 11 p.m. but that park (Jean Drapeau) is on an island without any residential area so I don't now if they have to respect that rule anyway. :confused:

( July 15th) cause there was a big Seether article and there was a little Amy picture on the next page just saying theres gonna be a concert on tuesday.. blah blah blah. It also said there's gonna be an interview with Amy in Saturday's Gazette. Evanescence's Amy Lee has alot on her mind, and discussed a good chunk of it with The Gazette last week - From founding member Ben Moody's departure, to being scrubbed clean of glamour in the video for Everybody's fool, to her mixed feelings about Broken. There's a small article in the Journal De Montreal this morning. Week-end section. The article is kind of weird, the guy doesn't seem to like them much. He seems pissed because they probably won't play for more then 1 hours like last time. He even puts a quote from Amy saying that with one album doing something over 1 hour is hard and that they won't fill it with covers. Weird article but at least it's something!

I think there was just a language misundersatnding, I think what Mel was trying to say was that she'll be posting what she's going to be wearing to the concert (which is on tuesday) tomorow. And at the show on Tuesday she's gonna meet seether, and maybe can meet up with people then.

Just got back and as you expect the show was awesome, met alot of people, got a real good sun tane in my face lol...this show was alot longer, it ROCKED..alot of body surfing wich was cool and sometimes annoying, but its all good Rock on!!!!! \M/

All-day outdoor concerts often feature more than one superstar act. But unlike last summer's Metallica show at Jean Drapeau Park, where Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit were also healthy draws, there was no questioning who ticketholders braved sunstroke yesterday at the same venue to see.

It wasn't as if Evanescence's fans were left boiling in their $40 souvenir shirts with nothing to do, though. With a generous supporting cast - most of which rose to the potential presented by the sizable crowd - there were reasons to sweat it out through the early hours.

None of which compared to the reason 10,000 people showed up. If anything, Evanescence has become even more assured since its local debut at the Bell Centre in December, and singer Amy Lee seems to have taken a few drama classes in the intervening months. The effect was only heightened by the nocturnal sky - an ideal backdrop to the band's dark allure.

There were moments when Lee overreached herself - Going Under threatened to go under when she flirted with hoarseness - but she was rarely less than stunning vocally. Only when she kept to her most strident pitch, as on Farther Away, did her voice have a numbing effect.

For all its Gothic drama, there's something refreshingly unpretentious about Evanescence in the flesh - especially when Lee flubbed the piano intro to My Immortal. "Ha ha! I've played it so many times I'm losing my mind!," she cackled, before switching from road-mad delirium to her most bewitching vocal.

Bar a few surprises - like a piano-led cover of Korn's Thoughtless - the set list was similar to the Bell Centre concert. But there are only so many rabbits you can pull out of a hat when you have just one album. Next time they're in town, with a dozen more songs under their belt, Evanescence will be that much stronger.

Three Days Grace was the second-to-last group on the bill, but the first to get a light-show benefit from the dying sun. The band was more convincing than on album, where its angst anthems come off as the work of a more neurotic Nickelback. On stage, the guitar was more jagged, the sinister undertones darker, and the atmospherics more subtle.

You don't expect subtlety from a band named Seether - and we didn't get any, as Shaun Morgan and company left elephant-size prints across the stage. The lurching riffs were ungainly at times, but there was an undeniable catharsis to Morgan's gruff Kurt Cobain revivalism and primal-scream therapy.

To no one's surprise, Lee came out for Broken, her colossal duet with Morgan. The expectation didn't take away from the performance's chilling power, however. Stripped of its orchestral arrangement, the song gained a bit of simmering ferocity.

It was all certainly a step up from the preceding act, Breaking Benjamin. Ben Burnley's vocals lent a richness to the heavy rock, but compared to Evanescence's ethereal/muscular hybrid, or the more cathartic teeth-gnashing of Seether, the band lacked a distinctive set of fingerprints.

On paper, it looked as though hard-driving rock 'n' soul shouters the Trews and probing singer-songwriter Simon Wilcox had wandered in from another bill. On stage, both made the best of their afternoon sets.

The Trews in particular knew how to snap heads their way, arriving to a tribal marching beat before hitting the ground full-throttle with Not Ready to Go. Wilcox proved to be the day's most unpredictable act, picking the scabs off her introspective originals with the aid of a surprisingly scrappy band.

Montreal's Prototype-A probably have a promising future opening for the likes of Finger Eleven, although the band could have been hungrier in the first set of the day, considering the size of its hometown crowd.

It really sucks how everyone keeps dissing Seether :( I saw them in Canada 2 times last year (Bell Center & Pepsi Collesium) and I thought they did a great set. I can't wait to see them again this weekend.

For some reason though, a lot of the reviewers have liked Ev, but also bitch about them at the same time, but the one thing I've noticed throughout most of the articles is that they all complain that Ev's Set is too short, which is something I have to agree with. I've been to so many Ev shows this year, that when I finally went to see A Perfect Circle & Liz Phair, a few months ago I was totally shocked that they both played almost 2 hours.

Well, the difference is that APC has 2 albums under their belt and Liz Phair has an entire career of stuff (like 10 years at least).

I think that they will beef up their shows for the next album. It's inevitable.

I wanted to post the article! You beat me to it. In the article that was in the Journal De Montreal last saturday, Amy mentionned that they don't more then 1 hours since they only have one cd. The only way to do more then that would mean filling the show with covers and she doesn't want to do that. Hopefully next time we'll have at least 30 more minutes to the show :)

Bunch of unexpected stuff. I was sick the day before, puked after running to the gate where you are let in. Was against the second barrier (there was a vip section)...had to sit down so missed actually seeing simon wilcox, the threws, breaking benjamin...after breaking benjamin's set we were supposed to go and meet seether (the contest/e-mail thing) but things got mixed up and we went before their set, ended up seeing dale and shaun really up close for a few seconds and meeting evanescence instead. I'm a little pissed about not meeting seether since they told us after their set in the first place and then changed what they said. But meeting EV was awesome. There was this whole thing with my camera being too big and they took my card (digital cam) and were like "you won't get it back" I talked to one security guard and he was a total ass! Being like it's illegal and blah, blah! There were maybe 1000 or more people with cameras there. You can't discriminate because my camera will give me better pictures. We're all fans just wanting something to show for. I talked to the guy who warned me twice "I only wanted to get a picture of her at the piano!!!" and said that I would leave if I could have my card back. Ev's security guard who had it came over and said to put it in my pocket not in my camera and I did just that. I have a few good pictures but I still wish that my friend would have brought her camera, which is less *great* or whatever. We got VIP passes for the show when we went in for the meet and greet. So and when we went in (seether set) there was space on the barrier. Me and Scody were right on the barrier in front of dale. The concert was amazing! Sux to be you if you weren't there.

Oh, and there was this couple who was there at 6:30am (we got there at 5:45 am) and kept being stupid and irritating about my weight. I didn't really pay attention since the girl was dressed like a cheap whore in a really bad horror flic, but we saw them before being picked up and I was just like: you have no idea how my day was. And I actually took some of my own advice and took off my jacket thingy and had it off for most of the concert. Thanks willows for reminding me that it's ok to have fun, and that no one is perfect.

Well you got incredibly lucky meeting EV from those seether passes. I wish there was a way they could just let us meet both or all bands with that but oh well. I still wanna meet Seether really bad and I'm still hoping everything works out at Jones Beach because NY shows are just a pain in the ass.

Now you're making me regret even more that I missed it. Stupid work :( Guess I'll have to wait till the next show to finally meet some evboarders.

Here's MY review of the show:

The 3 hours I spent waiting in line worth it ! I was at the second barrier. I almost got a VIP pass as the gave many at the beginning of Seether, that guy gave about 8 or 10 passes around me but didn't even looked at me !! :mad: It was hot, and we had the best weather we could wish for that show.

Prototype-A:
Don't rememeber much of them but all I remember is that they sounded great for a beginning band ! I agree, they have a good future before them.

Simon Wilcox:
Go put on some clothes bitch ! It was horrible, pathetic... She's really not an artist ! "You can get MY cd over there", "Thanks for having me today"... our answer was "We didn't choose ya"

The Threws:
Pretty good ! I only knew 1 song (yeah the one that spins on radio). The guitarist was awesome and showed us what he could do.

Breaking Benjamin:
More than awesome ! I didn't expect it would be that hard but they impressed me ! I thought it sounded almost like some punk bands. P.S. The singer is a giant :eek:

Seether:
Wow !! They gained a lot of experience since 7 months ! I give them the 2nd star of the night ! I just have no word for their performance. And what was that glance Shaun gave us as he entered the stage ^^ WTH man he looked like the devil or I don't know... I think he looked evil... and liked it haha They simply rocked my world ! What they miss: playing later with a good lightning.

Three Days Grace:
Much better than I expected ! They impressed me but I prefered Seether. There was an avalanche of bodysurfers ! And the crowd had fun pushing them in front in the security guard' hands hahaha I give them the 3rd star of the night !

Evanescence:
I seriously think about creating my own language to describe their shows. Incredible ! Awesome ! all the good words that you want ! I didn't remember John was that tall haha Amy had troubles with the mic at the beginning of Whisper (yeah once again !). The mic went out for the first few verses. What I dislike: their show seems to be too strict. They seem (read "they do") to follow a program that they can't avoid. They miss some improvisation. They could have start over Whisper for that problem that would have been better. At least, Amy's mistake with My Immortal (she played too low at the beginning) broke the perfection of the show and I liked it. They need more interaction with the crowd.

I was at the second barrier either. We wait around 2 hours in the line to enter on the site and then we made our way to the barrier.

So my impressions. This was a really good show with many bands, too many in facts. The one thing I really hated was the waiting between the bands, the sound check and all... And they had difficulties with the sound for the two first bands.

Prototype-A,was ok but no more.

Simon Wilcox was horrible, they did a cover of Depeche Mode, my god...Sounded like crap. Well I went to pee during that show so I missed nothing.

The guitarist of the Threws was really cool, and that's all i'm gonna say on that band.

Breaking Benjamin was awesome, I really liked the performance of that band, wow, they rocks.

Seether was really great. They have some great song, but I don't know, it's not one of my favorite band. They did a very good cover of Nirvana "You know you're right".

I really enjoyed Three days grace. WOW

Evanescence was amazing. I've saw them two times. One at the Pepsi Colliseum in Quebec City and the show of yesterday. The two shows were amazing, but too short in my taste. I understand that they only have one CD released. But I don't understand why they don't do songs from Origin. I would love to hear "Away from me", "Lies", "Event in death", "The last day", etc...

It was very hot and wet. And a lot of body surfer, too much. One time at band camp... oups s'cuse me. One time two arrived at me at the same time, I was like whoo... one at a time please. It was crazy but really cool.

Well that's it. I really thing to buy the cd's of Breaking Benjamin and Three days grace.

Ive heard other ppl say that the first songs by Evanescence weren't that great because they didnt get to do a sound check. But everyone says it was a great show nonetheless. :)

GOOD THING: I got a VIP pass, so I was about 10 feet away from Amy when she performed...I agree that they need to mix it up a little when performing. I felt like I was deja-vu-ing the whole concert but it still rocked! Amy sounded BETTER live then on the CD, and all the guys (Will, Rocky, John, and Terry) did great!

I saw Amy, Rocky, Will and Terry at one point or another on the side of the stage watching the other bands perform...it was very cool to just see them hanging out. I was too shy to try to get their attention, plus they probably don't want alot of people to know...they just want to chill.

Ok, I will try to get over the meet and greet thing...I just... :(

Oh yeah, and Montreal is about the WORST place to drive anywhere (no offence). It took me 3 HOURS after the concert to find my hotel and the roads were suicide!

So there must have not been one. I should have taken down the name of Ev's production manager...we were supposed to ask for him if anything went wront...DAMNIT!

OMFG!! What DVD??? And where did you get it. I wasn't here when they came and missed the show being able to see it would be incredible. OMFG! I need to know.... *rocks back and forth anxiously waiting for reply...*

I just saw on molsondry.com that there is 48 photos taken july 20th at le parc Jean-drapeau. There is no photos from the band only molson promo shot, party people :p beautiful girls. Check it out maybe you're on one of these.
