My brother actually introduced me to Sonata Arctica, and what I've heard of them so far, I really enjoy. Not many people I know have heard of them. Download (or buy) Black Sheep, it's on the CD Silence. There's some GREAT guitar work.

They kick ass, aren´t very famous (but aren´t very unknown) in metal scene and Tony Kakko vocals are only good in CDs (at least that´s what I think by hearing a live MP3)

They are absolutely GREAT!!! I listened to Winterheart's Guilt and I fell in love with them. Great music, incredible voice... I especially love Draw Me and Broken, but all the songs are wonderful.
I'm waiting for the new album and hope to see them with Nightwish in October ;)

We're way weirder than norwegians :p :p And the cold is different kind, it's moist in Norway but Finland isn't so close to any oceans so the climate is different... You have to come and see for yourself :D

Sonata Artica is one of my favourite bands.
Tony Kakko has amazingly strong voice, I love it. Reminds me and Tuomas talking about Tony. Tuomas had an idea that I'm going with Tony at Lappi and we never gonna get back home, because Tony can't read a map. :D
Don't say A Word is so good song so I can't stopping listening it.

I must say I like Sonata Arctica very much. I guess I'm a big fan of Finnish metal :D (and proud of it, too). Reckoning Night is absolutely their best album and the best song on it is White Pearl, Black Oceans. My Selene is great as well.

DSAW come right after Shamandalie, it was like "KAPUM!". Dream Thives was a bonus because when they started playing Shamandalie, the men besind me yelled "Last Drop Falls!" and then come again "KAPUM!" and they started play Dream Thieves.
Remember, if you ever travel to Europe... You might found thei CD's from stores. Germany must have those...

that's not my favourite sonata arctica album, but the other albums aren't *that* different. 'ecliptica' and 'reckoning night' are my favourite albums. i haven't listened to 'silence' an awful lot, i never really fell for it.
i guess it depends on what songs you like on winterheart's guild. i'm sure you'll find something on all the other albums that you'll like.

I finally had the chance to see these guys at the Electric Ballroom at the end of last year. It was probably the best gig I have ever seen, to the point where after that gig, I didn't want to go to any of the other gigs I'd booked, because they would not even nearly be as good.
So I'm really excited to see that they're coming back here in April.
